I am hard working, ambitious and creative. Many who know me say that I am super organized, very social and good at noticing details. I love to work with others as I see it as an opportunity to learn and to gain a new friend. I have acquired many leadership experiences from Key Club, STEM, Swim managing, band leadership, etc. Each of these experiences has taught me something different. For example, being the Boy’s Swim Team manager I learned how to work with a group of 70 teenage boys. Also, with all the extracurricular activities that I do, I am superb at managing my time. What I can contribute to Youth Council is all the knowledge that I have gained over the years through all the activities I do and fresh, new ideas.
My most memorable
At the beginning of my senior year, I committed myself to additional volunteer works. These volunteer activities require leadership skills that I have learned previously. Some of these activities include:
I am a recent graduate in Political Economy at UC Berkeley. I have built my leadership and teamwork skills throughout my work and academic experience. I served as a coordinator for the Cambodian Children’s Project. I coordinated the group meetings with my team members, set up the agendas, and collaborated with other team members to raise money for the organization through fundraising events. Furthermore, I was responsible for budget planning and allocating
I have demonstrated the qualities of a capable and trusted leader through my involvement in my school, work, and community activities. I have held a part-time job at my church's daycare where I help create a safe, loving, caring, and nurturing learning environment for children of the ages zero to five. All the while, I have continued to be an active member in school functions and be in leadership positions in various clubs. Currently, I am serving as the District 17 FBLA President and the President of Northeast Vernon County's National Honor's Society Chapter. I have also been involved with sports throughout my high school years where I also demonstrated leadership abilities serving as our cheerleading Captain last year and Co-Captain the year
I do lead by example by using my volunteer hours and volunteering constantly on my own spare time. I am an individual who is open to others opinions and to experience. I am very respectful always trying to follow the “golden” rule, of treated others like you would like to be treated. I value diversity and inclusion as we all do not come from the same walk of life, but we all should appreciate each other differences as a blending of ideas lead to greatness. I am non-judgmental to people that I meet or speak with as the outside of someone doesn’t always reflect the goodness that could lie within an individual. I have the ability and willingness to represent the chapter in a positive way, by wearing my Wells Fargo volunteer shirt when I go to events and engaging team members to participate in volunteering. I have the willingness and the ability to be a valuable contributor to the team and be a part of a team to get others more involved within the community. I possess good communication skills verbally and written when speaking to others. Finally, I will be able to make the minimum one year commitment, but hope to be a part of the chapter leadership team for many years to
Throughout my school years, I have always tried to be a positive role model for younger students as well as my peers. This year I decided that the best way to serve my school was to participate in our school’s Student Leadership Council. It has proven to be a fantastic decision for me. I succeeded in getting the most votes out of all of the candidates and have had a great experience taking a leadership role in my school. I feel like I have become a much better leader and role model because of Student Leadership Council. I have been really fortunate to be exposed to the Jeter’s Leaders program, since they come to our school to mentor us as SLC members. It has been an incredible experience, and I would really love to continue with it. As an eighth grader at Saint Augustine, we are required to mentor our younger students. I
I have had many experiences that demonstrate my life-long commitment to the promotion of progressive ideals. Some of these experiences go back as early as high school, I was a member Key Club and President of Natural Helpers (two volunteer groups), the International Club and helped my Muslim peers with the formation and establishment of M.E.C.C.A, to promote a positive image of Islam and educate Non-Muslims about the faith. In college I worked for NYPIRG, canvassing for environmental causes, did an internship and later worked for, Action for A Better Community a community action agency. After graduation, I volunteered at Citizen Action where I worked on the beginning stages of Healthcare Reform and the ACA. I want to be a New Leaders Council’s
Firstly, in my Academic Career, I have held a multitude of leadership roles. My sophomore year , I was a class representative for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, commonly known as FCCLA. It was my duty to alert members and keep them up to date regarding meetings and activities. As a representative of FCCLA, I learned how to work as a unit leader and a team member. That same school year, I ran for the district office of secretary for FCCLA. The nomination and election process, gave me the opportunity to grow and nurture my leadership abilities. It was eminently challenging; but I learned the importance of discipline and hard work. I accomplished my goal and was nominated Secretary for FCCLA. This office allowed me to meet plenty
Through what I have done in the community and at school, I have shown several skills of being a great leader. I work with little kids in baseball to help improve their skills. I also lead others throughout the community by instructing them what to do at Arlis DeBoer’s. We, as a BASIC youth group, volunteered to paint and landscape her house. I have done work for her before and helped to tell them what needed to be done.
Growing up in a small town, it is crucial that every individual get involved. This has pushed me to stay active in athletics, National Honor Society, student government, FFA, band, choir, play production, speech, and CYO. I take every organization I am involved with seriously and have earned some leadership positions: FFA News Reporter, Volleyball & Basketball Captain, Class President, and Student Council Member. It is an honor to hold these leadership positions and be a positive role model for the younger generation. I am able to support those younger than me and demonstrate a hard work ethic. By using my leadership and communication skills I have been able to influence teammates and fellow members to have a positive attitude
I am intimately familiar with the workings of the club, as I have been involved in a leadership role from nearly the first day. While the rest of my fellow officers are seniors and will graduate this June, I hope to carry on in a leadership role and ensure the club we have worked so hard to establish will continue to flourish. Through my experiences this year, I know specifically which aspects of the club are running smoothly and which need more work; I know which of our efforts were successful, and which missed the mark. I hope to bring my knowledge to the NHS leadership team in my senior year so that the State High chapter will have a bright and stable future. Furthermore, I possess the qualities necessary to be a strong leader. In addition to my organizational abilities, I can communicate effectively and appropriately with both my peers and my teachers. I am dedicated to my work, and independently motivated to achieve success. I am an excellent team player, having had significant practice this year both leading a team as an officer and working within a team and delegating tasks as head of the Bunny Hop 5k advertising committee. Given the opportunity, I would enthusiastically utilize and continue to develop all of these skills as president of the State High
Not only have I put in countless hours of hard work for my education, I have also participated in multiple extracurricular activities - both in school and in the community. I was a part of my elementary school’s art club for 3 years, two of which I served as the vice president then leading into High School, I was a member of Cactus’ art club my freshmen year. Alongside Art Club, I ran for student council as a freshman and sophomore, to which I lost both elections, however I was fortunate enough to be gifted with the chance to be a part of something bigger than myself as I was selected as a member-at-large through a letter submission that detailed what made me fit be a part of the council. The past two years of my life have been filled with crazy adventures regarding student council as we go to multiple leadership conferences every year, plan and run all of our spirit assemblies, and constantly do lessons on either team-building or how to effectively lead. Outside of school, I have volunteered and worked at Desert Sunset Stables for the past 4 years, helping take care of 20+ horses by feeding, watering, mucking, and
Combining certain passions with the power granted to me, I chose to make the most out of my leadership position. I organized both the Recycling Committee and the St. Baldrick's fundraiser. In the Recycling Committee, I created a script, filmed, and edited a video emphasizing the importance of recycling. That video was then circulated throughout the school and was a success-- it prompted my peers to correctly recycle materials. Similarly, I ran the social media and advertising campaigns for the St. Baldrick's Fundraiser, raising awareness for childhood cancer. I not only want to achieve leadership positions, such as my National Honors Society position, but I want to exercise them to positively influence the community around
My passion for service and leadership has grown through my involvement in FCCLA, Honor Society, and Spirit Club. I would love to expand my leadership skills by working with my fellow peers as a student body officer and grow my love for community service as the service representative.
Leadership is a process of social influence, which maximizes the efforts of others, towards the achievement of a goal. The article “Leadership That Gets Results” by Daniel Goleman is an article that helps readers understand that there is not only one way of becoming a successful leader. Research indicates that leaders with best results do not rely on only one leadership style. Goleman, describes leaderships styles as array of clubs in a golf pro’s bag. Over the course of the game, the pro picks clubs based on the demands of the shot. Thinking is involved during the selection, but usually it is automatic. The pro is aware of the challenge ahead, quickly utilizes the right tool, and puts it to work. It has also been found that emotional intelligence
Initially, I would like to list all of the qualities I shall bring to the Student Council. I am very respectful of my peers and teachers. I have numerous academic accomplishments which I believe a president must not only be a good role model for the rest of the student body but also lead in academics as well. In addition to my academic skills I developed leadership skills that I have obtained from Beta and 4-H. In these clubs I have learned how to communicate and work in groups I am very flexible at taking on any task and conforming to each and every job when it is needed of me.
