Labor Day Incident Report

On August 24, 2015 at approximately 6:40 pm. Officer responded to shots fird complaint in the North Mclemore and Lark Street area. Officer loacated two subjects that had been shot and two otheer subjects uninjured.One subject (Cedrick Person) had been fatally wounded from multiple gun shots. The other injured subject was his son (Marquis Person) had what appeared to be a single gunshot wound in the shoulder area. The shooting stemed from an altercation that occurred earilier that same day. After further investigationg the case, investigaters learned that Lakendrick Deberry was possibly the shooter in this incident. Arrest warrats were issued for Lakendrick Deberry for !st Degree Homicide, Attempted !st Degree Homicide and possessing a firearm

On November 3rd in Marksville, Lousisana a 6-year-old boy was shot to death by two marshals. His name was Jeremy Mardis, who is autistic, was shot five times in the head and chest who was sitting in the front seat of Chris Few, the Father, pickup truck. Chris was also struck by the marshal, but was said to be in fair conditions. The two marshals Norris Greenhouse Jr., 23, and Derrick Stafford, 32, were the two officers that shot around 13 to 18 rounds that led to Chris Few with losing his son Jeremy Mardis. This event led to an enormous discovery of problems in this small town of 5,500 residents.

The first witness was identified as Decalle McGowan, Mother of Alphonos Jr, Tashima Johnson and fiance of Alphonso Johnson Sr, and the second as Sharifa Derry,sister of Alphons Johnson, Jr. Both witnesses claimed once they arrived to the location a large fight began, and both of them observed a black male go up to both of the victims and repeatedly strike both with what appear to be a hand knife several times. McGowan stated that she arrived at the scene along with her family, and she saw the unknown male walk to the rear of a car and then attack her family.The two female witnesses provided a written statement of the events. The statement provided by the females concurs in great part with all the other testimonies. Howell "Trai" Donaldson III, was arrested and accused of the murder of four Tampa locals on Wednesday November 29th. The investigators believe there was not a connection to the four shootings. He had owned the firearm that had been used in the four killings. Investigators still haven’t been able to find a motive to why he had went on a killing spree. They haven’t been able to gather a confession or motive. However, they had enough DNA evidence stacked up against Donaldson. Family members, neighbors, and old teachers had been saying that he could never do something like this, and he had never stood out as a violent young man. Their mayor had stated that the community had just survived Hurricane Irma and now they had to deal with 51 days of unrest

On Sunday November 24, 2016 at approximately 16:02 hrs. Officer L Wilkerson and I Ofc. R. Holcomb were dispatched by dispatcher B Coleman to 304 Hopkins Drive in reference to a disturbance. Upon my arrival I made contact with Ms. Shawntavia Lucky (complainant) who stated that her son Mr. Jousha Lucky (victim) got into a physical altercation with two black males.

In October of 2015 in Palm Beach County Florida a young African American was shot to death though he had caused no harm. After performing at a concert, Corey Jones was headed home and while traveling on I-95 his car broke down and he was stranded on the side of the road. While stranded he contacted his brother to notify him of the situation. He then contacted roadside services and sat patiently waiting for them to arrive. Officer Nouman K. Raja dressed in plain clothing in an unmarked vehicle pulled up to Mr. Jones’ car noting that this is taking place between the hours of 2:00 and 3:00am. Mr.

A recent current event that is shown in media is the shooting of a Virginia State Trooper at a Greyhound bus station. This tragedy occurred Thursday, March 31, in the afternoon around three p.m. A Virginia state trooper was said to be talking to another individual, the suspect, and then the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the trooper leaving him with serious life threatening injuries. After the suspect shot the trooper other State Troopers began firing their weapons on the suspect. This tragedy ended with the suspect dead, Virginia State Trooper with serious injuries, then later died and two female civilians with not so serious injuries from the gun shots. Virginia state police do not know why the suspect pulled out his gun on the trooper and why in a bus station where many are surrounding and can get injured. One community that stands out the most for the conflict between law enforcement and their community is Ferguson, Missouri. On August 9, 2014 Darren Wilson, 28, a white Ferguson police officer fatally shot Michael Brown, an 18-year-old African-American male (McLaughlin). This case started one of the biggest uproar the nation has ever seen between community and law enforcement. When the incident first occurred there were many pieces of information missing to paint a scenario of how and what occurred between Brown and officer Wilson. Apparently Michael Brown was walking home late at night when officer Darren Wilson and Michael Brown got into a confrontation that lead to Wilson shooting Brown, the case goes
