Does a disagreement with a cognitive peer from another faith or philosophical perspective reduce the confidence one has in the justification of one’s belief?
This is a difficult question for one to answer for various reasons and one of those reasons being that when someone believes that their knowledge in a particular subject is greater than others it’s very difficult to change that person mind or the way that they see a particular subject. Although If I came up on this issue and someone asked me if a cognitive peers views would make me second guess my beliefs I must say no, it wouldn 't lessen my belief or confidence on my point of view if that person was just as knowledgeable as I am. Everyone in this world no matter how old or how young, no matter how educated or how uneducated someone is everyone in this world has had a disagreement with someone. We as humans have disagreements on a daily basis. Whether that disagreement is over something important or just a subject that doesn 't matter to anyone else other than the two discussing. When an argument occurs that means that there is two different points of views and that is what makes an argument interesting because you can have more knowledge on the way that someone else thinks about the topic that you are talking about.
When it comes down to religion I must say that in no way would my point of view change if someone had a different opinion then I do. Why? Because one whose view would change after speaking to a cognitive
