“What do you want to be when you grow up?” As a child, the answer to that question seemed limitless. However, as a senior in high school, the answer is almost too obvious. The true question is: “How are you progressing towards obtaining your dreams?” Where am I going to live and how much will I spend on groceries? The aforementioned expenses will all be assessed, in order for me to reach my monthly budget and goals. How much will I spend on transportation or the internet? Will I retain my current cell phone plan or splurge myself? The Into the World Project has brought to light all of the financial challenges that I will face when I compose my mark on the world. (Dr. Bush) I decided to rent a room in Richmond, Virginia for $500 a month. I’ll be staying at 3200 Barton Avenue. The house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and is 6,400 sqft; the room being about 2000 sqft. Cable, internet, and utilities are already included in my rent. The house has a shared laundry facility and requires no property repairment. (Zillow) I have permission to use the kitchen as long as I clean after myself and provide my own groceries; it is also acceptable to use the living spaces and have guests, consequently I am responsible for picking up the wreckage. I am not allowed to have a pet, but can use my room to my leisure. Without a car, and my legs being my only transportation, I’m a five minute walk from the local post office, an eight minute walk from the local library, and a seven minute walk from the local grocery store.
