August 2016: Despite the clusters of tourists peppering the mountaintop, I am able to find a quiet, solitary spot at the top of the mountain. After a seven mile hike up, I am sitting atop Cloud’s Rest, arguably the most beautiful location in all of Yosemite. Breathing in the thin mountain air, I sit and marvel at the view that lies in front of me. From my perch, I have a perfect view of Half Dome and the perfect opportunity to sit and reflect on the beauty of my surroundings. July 2016: Daring to brave the slippery rocks and uneven walkways, I climb my way up to the top of Rainbow Falls. Peeking over the edge, I see what seems like millions of gallons of water rushing over the cliff. The sound of the rushing water rings through my ears, a sound I’ll be able to recall, …show more content…
Pairing this with my passion for math and science, I plan to pursue a career in environmental engineering and global development. Upon college graduation, I hope to join the Peace Corps, working to safeguard food security, water access, and agricultural sustainability. When I return the United States, I want to continue in this field, making sure clean water is available for everyone in the nation. The water crisis in Flint, MI has given me a clear vision of the work we must still do to guarantee the health and safety of our own. After this, my ultimate dream is to found my own non-profit organization, focused on sustainable agriculture and development abroad. Through a grassroots approach to education, it is my firmest belief that we can empower the people of the less developed world. Rather than sending in teams to make change, I want to teach locals, giving them the tools they need to create an impact within their own communities. Eventually, I foresee myself returning to the United States, entering the field of public policy, working to create and enact legislation to ensure sustainable practices are used all across the
In the future, I have decided to live in an environmentally friendly home(one that uses renewable or reused materials, and features various forms of renewable energy), and recycle materials. Fostering peace and justice will be seen in my many attempts to vote, or create art work that is civil rights centered. I plan over the summer of 2018 to create works of art that have a tone of change for oppressed individuals or groups of people. I love to teach, so serving one another, society, and the church is evident in my passion for teaching. I find fulfillment in watching others grow and teaching is a very humbling career that is very much a way of serving others.
As we start the descend down, it feels as if it takes forever until we reach the Nevada Falls. They are loud and powerful and tumble down until it becomes a stream with huge rocks poking out. Around the stream are green trees and lots of plants. At the top of the falls, there is a footbridge which you are able to cross. I myself cross it, peering at the falls, intrigued by how turbulent it is.
Even past that, in the near future, I aspire to be on site and work at one of the Olympic Games. Intertwined with my long term goals, I plan to become a certified athletic trainer and physical therapist so I can work toward helping athletes and everyday people stay healthy accomplish all that they desire to do. I have a lot that I desire to do with my life currently and in the nearing future. Everything that I am planning toward, dreaming for, and hoping for is concentrated around helping people be the best that they can be and overcoming
I will be a person who always works to achieve their goals with grace, dedication, and hard work. In my future professional life, I would like to be the head of a department, preferably in a collegiate setting, and plan on achieving this through obtaining my master’s degree in Management and getting an entry level job and working my way up. I currently work in a department heads office on campus and I really enjoy all the aspects of it. In my personal life, I want to stay strong in whatever I face, and be an overly involved mother to at least two children.
Since I could remember, I always wanted to work with people and make a difference in some way like a career in education or medicine. I am originally from Haiti which is located in Caribbean. Haiti is one of the poorest country in the North Western hemisphere. I was blessed with the opportunity to move to the United States to receive a better education. My family is very big on Education.
In the near future, I aim to be an aspiring registered nurse. I chose this career so I can give people emotional support and advice when they are in need of help. When I was a child I thought dreams would always come true but I guess society does not think so much of it.
The ultimate end-goal of my career is to become an American astronaut. This is, of course, a long way away; therefore, in the meantime, I want to be an engineer in the Air Force, if I go to a service academy. Otherwise, I will study Aerospace/Astronautical engineering at a university and work for NASA or a private company.
Eventually I’d like to become the AG for the White House. Then possibly becoming an ambassador for France, Great Britain, or even somewhere where their relationship with the US is still a little shaky. I know these are all ambitious goals but some of these things, like becoming a lawyer and going to Harvard, are things I’ve wanted to do since third
I plan on going to college and having a career in biomedical engineering. Biomedical engineers use components of biology and engineering to create devices and equipment that assist in healthcare. I believe that as a biomedical engineer, I will be able to develop better medical equipment and biomaterial that can be used to treat diseases more effectively.
First I wanted to be a astronaut, then an engineer, now finally I have chosen a career field that I am fully interested in, Epidemiology. My goal now is to earn a Bachelors of Science in Public Health, then go on to graduate school to earn a Masters in Epidemiology. Many of the activities I have participated in have given me leadership skills. I have had a part time job, participated in Girl Scouts, horseback riding, volunteer work, and marching/pep/concert band.
When I finish my schooling I plan on going to a water restoration trade school where I plan to become a master water and fire restorer, and open my own Servpro franchise. I believe opening my own Servpro franchise is perfect for me since I enjoy the work, this field of work is very rewarding and I get to do what I want with my business.
Personally, I hope to graduate college one year early in a five year master’s program for a double major in Special Education and English. During these five years, I would like to study abroad to different countries to learn about the varied education systems around the world. I would love to find a job in a suburban school district and settle down with a husband and children. By attending The Academy for Education and Learning, I have been able to gain a head start on my work with children and my college experience.
My super long term goal is to be a biological and biosystems engineer. I absolutely want to make the world, the place our parents provided us even better. I want to be able to make fuel out of wood chips or out of dying plants. I want to be able to make pharmaceuticals like insulin. In the future I want live in a small house, in a rural neighborhood with
First, I plan on finding a job as a marketing analyst or chemist. This will allow me to earn a stable salary, so I can assist my mother in supporting my younger siblings. Next, I plan on dedicating a large part of my time to working with non-profit organizations that focus on helping low-income youth in various forms, such as mentorship or job shadowing.
My future dream job is to be the CEO of a company. I know that it will take a while to get there, so I am plan on studying business administration first, then, work my way up to the position that I want. In the future, I also want to be settled in a nice home where I can raise my future children, and living in Seattle, Washington. One goal that I wish to accomplish when I get older, is to buy my parents a house to give back for the sacrifices they have made for me, and for teaching me how to deal with the difficulties of life. The quality of life I want in the future will be a good one. I will achieve my goals and surround myself with people that will bring me happiness.
