Homily
Over the past few months, immigration has become a much talked about problem. The president wants to deport all undocumented immigrants no matter how well they are doing in America. These days, over one-quarter of the farmhands in the United States are immigrants working here illegally. The president doesn’t realize that these immigrants help or economy This is how the growers and immigrants will respond to President Trump’s threatened crackdown on immigration: They will lobby, asking Congress to provide some legal option to hang on to their foreign work force. The president wants to build an expensive wall along the southern border to keep “rapists” and “criminals” from Mexico from illegally
Paying college athletes would negate the whole point of a college. Colleges give many citizens across the country a chance to gain an incredible education that will aid them in their life. Colleges accept every person of any age to attend. Sometimes it may be middle aged citizens looking to go to school after waiting years to make a decision, and sometimes it may be a recently graduated teenager out of high school. No matter who it is or where they came from, colleges allow anyone to gain an education that fuels their interests and helps them obtain a job after they graduate. Although most students focus on getting an education, there is a significant amount of students, known as student-athletes, that focus only on playing sports. Through the years, men and women of America have created a controversy surrounding these student-athletes and the colleges they are currently attending. The argument is whether or not colleges should pay their student-athletes for their labors and contributions they give their teams and schools. Citizens of America love college sports.
The definition of a stereotype is labelled as a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image of a certain type of person, or thing. When looking at Crash, Freedom Writers , To Kill a Mockingbird and Where is the Love, we see this idea of stereotypes quite often throughout the texts. Stereotypes created by current society, and often go down the path of discrimination. This is where the unjust treatment of someone is categorized down to the grounds of race, age and sex. This then further creates conflict between the person making and receiving the stereotype.
With the new presidential election coming in the next year, and presidential candidate Donald Trump and all of the controversy of illegal immigration is taking things to a whole other level. Coming from illegal immigrant parents it makes it very disturbing for me to see what society has become and what they are making immigrants seem like. Making the Hispanic look incompetent and unworthy of our country when in reality it’s that immigrant that has helped our country grow. It’s that hard working human being that is striving for growth. How shameful to see that the citizens of this actual country take it for granted when others aspire to belong.
For centuries ordinary citizens of the world have left the only homes they’ve ever known and ventured to lands that promised the opportunities that their homeland lacked. Immigration has been a part of American culture since the very beginning when The Mayflower landed in Jamestown. In fact, the United States had no federal laws restricting immigration until 1875. (https://openborders.info/us-specific-pro-immigration-arguments/) So from 1620 until 1875, two hundred fifty-five years, there were open borders. As a blossoming country, we welcomed those from all over, allowing them to freely come into the country without an ounce of paperwork and make a home. We are a nation of immigrants, and the fact that in the last century we’ve closed our doors to so many people is a shame.

In the first place, illegal Immigrants have always been an issue in America. The plan would appear to be to make and put actively an Immigration Reform. One if the main issue is The United States have always been a country of immigrants. There have been refugees that came here forcefully, some reluctantly. In any case, however you look at it we are all immigrants, or the families of refugees.
My heart truly bleed for the individuals that are suffering abuse from drug cartels and sex traffickers. Their country refuses to protect their citizens! These individuals need to direct their anger towards their leaders for failure to protect. Why are you mad at Americans who do not want to allow you in our country! If the parents are paying several thousand dollar to a smuggler to assist in smuggle their children to the U.S Border- traveling through the dangerous parts of Mexico- why don't the just all move to safer part of Mexico?? There are several reasons why I think America needs to have stricter and more secure borders I live in a city that borders Mexico- Since moving Here, I can see now how important it for congress to act and make stricter laws regarding the border and enforce deportation!!. I can not find work here and suffer horrible discriminated
Illegal Immigration is a huge problem, especially in the United States. Different people have different theories on how to fix this problem. Some on one side of the argument call for completely open borders which allows anyone to join and be a US citizen easily. However, the other side says we should keep the immigration laws similar to what they are and make it harder for people to become US citizens. Illegal Immigration is a complex political issue that will be very hard to solve. Undocumented people who don't have a Green Card or known as having an Alien Card make the US government lose billions of dollars a year is lost taxes because the people are working under the table and not recording their income.
Immigration has been a controversial subject over the years, especially when the time comes for Presidential elections, but while legislators play politics, the immigration problem has continued to be unresolved. The future will tell whether the immigration reform will resolve the problem of millions of immigrants who already reside in the United States, or the problem will continue to be ignored until another presidential term. Very little has been done in the past or is being done in the present to resolve any of the issues surrounding immigration.
Being an immigrant in the US, fortunately legal, gives me the access to the immigrant community--legal and illegal. I have heard so many stories that make me question the fairness of the immigration system specifically and the United States generally. One year ago, my colleague’s wife was able to get a U.S/ visa. She traveled with their kids, who were Americans by birth, to the U.S.A. At the airport, the immigration officer gave her a three month stay. After the three months were over, she had to stay on illegally. The immigration found out. INS (The United States Immigration and Naturalization Service) wanted to deport the mother and canceled the father’s application for permanent residency. So far this may seem ok, but here comes the shock.
There have been over 11 million immigrants in the United States illegally and the issue still continues. Some people have said that illegal immigrants benefits the U.S economy. The only thing is that immigrants are illegally passing the border without proper documentation. I’m for it because it will make the population bigger.
Imagine yourself walking in your town and having the fear of seeing immigration patrol. Being taken away in just a second and not being able to contact your family. The moment you see immigration patrol you get shocked; your mind goes blank and have no idea what to do but to panic and think of a solution to avoid getting close to them and getting deported. The fear of getting deported out of nowhere gains anxiety but even though you have no crimes on your record and you are not a United States citizen it makes you feel insecure and afraid. In 2014 Barack Obama's immigration speech, he says, " All of us are created equal and all have the chance to make our lives that we will" (105). Regardless
The first immigration police I would like to address if the idea that “It's just as easy for immigrants to enter the contrary legal today as it was for my ancestors.” This quote is very powerful and expresses the idea that it is just easy to enter the contrary in morderen time as it was in the past, but I find this to be false for example “the skills need in America today are drastically different from the skill need the past.”(Stier, ken). For example in the pasted the united States need people to build and expanded to keep allowing the US to grow and develop. Nowadays the skills need have changed drastically, we are not looking for everyday joe to working fast food restaurants. The US is looking for doctors and engineers to start diagnosing
Illegal immigration has become a huge issue in the United States, it is estimated that there are about twelve million illegal immigrants living in the U.S. today and that number is growing larger every day. This issue has caused multiple social, economic, safety, and law issues within the country. The state and federal government is using billions of dollars on things such as school, welfare, and medical and receiving minimal or no money in return simply because they are giving out the money to illegal immigrants who do not pay taxes to help fund things. Even though illegal immigrants help the economy, take low paying jobs, and improve the overall image of America, the U.S. must not allow any persons who enter this country illegally to
Each child will grow and develop, but not all will reach milestones at the same time. This makes it very important for educators and parents to have knowledge and understanding of the developmental milestones of middle childhood in order to ensure that a child is developmentally progressing within a normal time frame. These milestones are set up as a guide to help parents and educators make choices to take necessary steps to provide extra assistance if needed or help to identify inabilities if growth is not matching the milestones within a certain time frame. This paper will provide information on characteristics/milestones of middle childhood
