There are many hotly debated and contentious issues today. Issues that people often find themselves arguing about with their friends, or something that people have a very strong presupposed belief of. But none more hotly debated or more querulous perhaps, than our immigration system. Very few issues have the magnitude and aptitude to tear an entire nation apart, and this is one of them. As with every struggle, there are two point of views. There are those that welcome the cultural differences and the economical possibilities that immigrants bring with them, along with their traditions and their work ethic. The problem with immigration is that the federal government has failed to control immigrants coming into the U.S. illegally. This has caused a substantial increase in illegal immigration that threatens the U.S. economy.

Illegal immigration has been a major problem for the United States for a long period of time. Illegal immigrants come from all over the world; they come from the Mexico borders, the Pacific Ocean, and through many other ways that they seem to find. Numerous immigrants have came through the borders with fake birth certificates, or through a temporary visa and they just end up staying in the U.S illegally. Most of American’s are very opinionative about illegal immigration and how it can hurt the country, which they have every right to feel that way. U.S population has been growing rapidly for the last decade or so, the population has grew by 4% according to the article “The Progressive Case for Reducing Immigration” by Philip Cafaro. A growing population can cause a good outcome or it can have a bad outcome to the U.S. It has been said that immigrants take jobs, but they can also create jobs. The negative aspects are that many American’s feel threatened by immigrants due to the fact of employment. Immigrants do not come to the U.S to intentionally take jobs; most of them are just trying to provide for their families just like every other American. As most people call the United States the “melting pot” because of how diverse the United State is, that is what makes this country extraordinary. There is every type of ethnicity that comes from different backgrounds. Most people who are from the United States or who want to come only want one thing, and that is the “American

Immigration has been a controversial subject over the years, especially when the time comes for Presidential elections, but while legislators play politics, the immigration problem has continued to be unresolved. The future will tell whether the immigration reform will resolve the problem of millions of immigrants who already reside in the United States, or the problem will continue to be ignored until another presidential term. Very little has been done in the past or is being done in the present to resolve any of the issues surrounding immigration.

Illegal immigration has become more of an important issue in the United States since Donald Trump’s campaign for president in 2016. Immigration can be known as the act of people crossing national borders to live permanently in other countries. It becomes illegal when they cross those borders without the legal right to be in those countries. The U.S. has been an immigrant country since the pilgrims in the 1600s and has ever since, been diverse. Most of the immigrants are Latinos that come from Central America, but they also come from all over the world. The current path to legal citizenship is flawed and needs to be reformed to allow rights to be upheld, equal and fair treatment of all applicants, and to facilitate the process altogether.

America’s open border policies are not the way to protect our citizens and our future. Illegal Immigration shouldn’t be considered to be a good thing, as a handful of illegals could pose as innocent beings, but could be vital threats to the country. As stated by Fair.org, “...their presence outside the law furnishes an opportunity for terrorists to blend to the same shadow (Fair.org)”. When you bring in any type of illegal immigrant, no matter who he or she is, will pose a risk of having to commit a crime or a terrorist act.

Immigration reform is one of the most pressing issues confronting United States Legislators. Do you know why illegal immigrants come to America or any other country? Why is the matter illegal? Some say they leave their home country for a better life and work while others may say for religious reasons or just to get away. Some come for more opportunities and education and a better way of life. What is really the incentive for this? Do you agree or disagree with the law that an illegal immigrant must be demoted back to their country or origin. Do you have sympathy for such actions or are you completely against it? Hopefully if I give you the logical enough reason I can open your eyes and mind to obtain some of my reasons about illegal immigrants.

Illegal immigration has plagued the United States since immigration laws were created, and has worsened in recent history. Since Ronald Reagan’s Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 provided amnesty for 3 million illegal aliens in exchange for increased border security, millions of people have entered the country illegally. Over the past 30 years, the illegal immigrant population of the country has more than doubled from 5 million in 1986 to over 11.5 million in 2015. It has become one of the most controversial political issues in America. While not every undocumented alien is a bad or dangerous person, illegal immigrants in general are a national security threat, harmful to the economy, and a burden on the social welfare system. The best solution to the illegal alien problem is to secure and enforce the border, purge American territory of every person unlawfully trespassing upon it, and reform the immigration system to make it easier for foreigners to enter the United States legally like people have done for centuries.

America, to everyone around the world—even to those who have not stepped on its land, is acknowledged as the "Land of Opportunity," a place applauded and revered for its allocation of freedom and equality among its inhabitants. Because of this, those seeking to flee poverty and lack of resources to sustain their lives come this country to experience the "American Dream." One might ask, however. why the presence of illegal immigrants is still apparent within the country's boundaries if everyone on this territory is equal to one another. The United States of America, a country created by immigrants, is currently facing what some consider to be an immigration crisis. As of 2012, there is over eleven million undocumented illegal aliens living inside the United States. Both the American public and the lawmakers elected to represent us are divided on the issue. Some people view the influx of immigrants crossing over the border from Mexico to America as a good thing while others view it as a disaster waiting to happen. Regardless of ones view on immigrants coming over, most people are in agreement with the idea that we must change the way we are currently dealing with illegal aliens.

The immigration patterns of the United States have fluctuated over the years, some years having little while others see a rising amount of immigrants, both legal and illegal, looking for opportunities to improve their lives. The amount of illegal immigration is a problem since many take advantage of the social services provided by the government without contributing towards the country since they are not citizens and many people see these illegal immigrants as a threat to their employment. Illegal immigrants do affect the U.S negatively in a number of ways, but if those illegal immigrants were to have a safe passageway towards gaining citizenship, the immigrants would contribute greatly towards the
