Stillwater has an abundance of jobs available on and off the OSU campus for students. Ideally, I would like to work for OSU at the library or one of the on-campus restaurants because they would be more understanding of my school schedule and closer to my dorm. I would like to work somewhere between 15-20 hours a week. I have received an Academic Excellence Scholarship of $2,000 and the Presidents Leadership Council Scholarship of $1,500. My parents have a college fund that will pay for exactly half. My parents expect me to be financially responsible and pay for the other half of my education through scholarships and work.
My background and life experience is different from all of the other applicant and I know that I am worth investing because as a person I know that I work hard and I can work well with other. And if you ask my friends, they will say the same. I didn’t go to college and pay for it. And I can’t go, if I have to pay for it out of my own pocket. My family don’t have enough money to pay. The way for me to achieve higher education is to work hard in high school and in life. I did that and now I’m currently going to University of Idaho seeking higher education. I’m taking 18 credit and working as a Programming Chair of Resident Hall Association for Resident Housing. I plant events for the student that are living in the Resident Hall. Every month there will be events of some kind. For example, during the October I host a Pumpkin Carving Contest, and also co-op with other organization on campus to run programs. Not just that I get my
I was always taught that I must work hard for everything I receive, I believe now is the time to show all I have worked for. At Gulf Coast I plan to obtain my Associate degree in Dental Hygiene. I am assiduous for this scholarship because during my years of high school I have worked hard not only in the classroom but at my job, sports, and clubs as well. Coming into high school as a Freshman I
In light of being denied the Federal Pell Grant from applying for the FAFSA, I will now rely upon grants from scholarships I have been applying for. Along with my own money from future jobs and my family's contributions to my education. For the past year and still continuing, I have received money from my family in order to save up for college. Money that I received during daily responsibilities around the house. No matter the quantity, due to the fact that I am unemployed. For the reason that I have been entirely focusing on my high school education since I am still in High School and in the ACE Program. Nevertheless, I plan to obtain a job in the near future to aid my education in Chandler-Gilbert Community College. Whether that job is in
I decided to apply to WITCC so I can get two years of training and then move on to a college and keep pursuing my career. I have an ambition to work with numbers and the best career for that is accounting. My plans are to study for two years at WITCC and then go to a four-year college and get my bachelorette degree. For my short-term plans, I’m going to stay in Denison and take care of my child. Attending WITCC will give me a chance to have time for my family and school. My real goal is for me to have a good education so I can have a high paying job and support my family. The reason I’m applying for a scholarships is because I need financial help
I believe that I would be a very good candidate to receive a scholarship when attending Saginaw Valley State University. I work extremely hard in order to succeed in my classes. I like pushing myself to continue working hard in my classes in order to get the best grades that I am capable of. I have been a very successful student at Unionville-Sebewaing Area Highschool, and I plan on continuing my success through college. I have a good work ethic. I use my work ethic to do my work to the very best of my ability. I also work extremely hard in order to achieve my goals. My main goal is to be a successful student at Saginaw Valley State University. I want to work hard in order to have a successful and rewarding college career, and to also
Starting my journey at Eastern Michigan University I was fortunate enough to have received the Emerald Scholarship. This scholarship has greatly helped in decreasing costs of attendance. I have also been largely supported by my parents my first few years at this school. As I near my senior year, the financial responsibility of school has now become my own. While I welcome this responsibility, my need for financial aid is necessary as I am a full-time student and part-time employee at Boneheads BBQ. I would like to be able to keep my position working part-time to ensure that I am able to fully dedicate myself to my education.
I have been extremely fortunate to avoid many hardships. However I have faced a financially barrier, especially as I have set the goal to finance college without loans. My family is not poor, but we do not have enough money to put two women through university. I have taken the initiative to surpass this barrier by working and applying for scholarships. I started by attending community college first as it is less expensive. I quickly realized that the lower tuition was not enough and took a job at a grocery store deli. Most of my income has been placed into my savings. I have saved up a decent sum of money, but will still need help to pay for college. Now I am applying for as many scholarships as humanly possible. I have received scholarships
I was awarded the Freshman Trustee Scholarship; in high school I had a 3.71 unweighted GPA and I scored 27 on the ACT, which demonstrates excellent scholastic achievement. I am the eldest of five; my siblings are quadruplets and juniors in high school. Within two years, ⅘ of my parents' children will be in college, which is a ginormous, and unmeetable, expense for my parents. My parents have a 529 plan set up to help pay for some of my college expenses in which every semester they generously provide $2,500.00 to help pay for tuition costs. Although I'm unfortunately currently unemployed, and am currently job searching, working approximately 15-20 hours a week at my previous job provided me with enough money to save up for a decent car that
I currently sit atop my class due to this hard work that I’m putting in to it. I plan to attend Mississippi State University this fall where I plan to major in Poultry Science. I have had chickens for most of my life, but I was unable to get them until I was able to pay for them myself. My parents told me that if I wanted chickens I would have to work to get them. Now I have close to 50 chickens that I care for daily. Going to Mississippi State has been a dream come true, but paying for it is a different story. I would love to receive this scholarship, so I would be able to relieve the stress that has come with my parents trying to figure out how to pay for my
McBride’s mother was a quester. At a young age her family migrated across the western world from Poland to the United States. She grew up in small town Suffolk, North Carolina. Her quest had multiple stops along to way to a final destination; making their family’s journey as a whole all the more interesting. Each stop along the way was also a trial en route.
I have always been concerned about having scholarships, but not until recently have I ever been frightened that I may not be able to to become a student at Southern due to money. In August of this year my dad broke his foot on the job. As a UPS freight driver that worked a ton of overtime and my mom being a substitute teacher, my parents were making a decent amount of money to raise all four kids including myself. My parents have always been determined to send each of their kids to school due to my dad not having that opportunity. He worked a lot of overtime to make sure that he could save money for our college, but he was already concerned about how much it was going to be. After his accident, Workers’ Comp put him on medical leave until the doctors said otherwise. During this time our income became half of what it originally was. Complications arose with the injury, but my father was finally able to go back to work this January after being out since August. Through this time, my need for scholarships became even more important especially since I was unable to qualify for a grant due to fafsa looking at last year’s income. Luckyday would not only be a program that helps me reach out to those at school and in my community, but it would give me a chance to study a major that I am passionate
It has been a dream of mine to become a teacher who can help and motivate future students to succeed. Throughout college, and even high school I have been focused on getting a solid college education to turn that dream into my reality. Upon being accepted to the college, I was concerned about paying for tuition, so I got a job as a tutor so that I can practice my skills in teaching and make enough to make up the difference in my financial aid. While my job is giving me valuable work experience, it is a struggle to find time to study for all of my coursework. With the 2+2 Honor Scholarship, I could decrease my work hours for the next two years so that I can place more of my focus on my college education. I will spend more on proper textbooks
I have a great deal of confidence that given the chance I will accomplish much in college. My parents are hard-working people who make a little too much for financial aid but not enough to completely further my education. I have worked extremely hard all through high school to make the top grades. My grades are very good, but not the best of my class. I have been an officer of many organizations such as: Student Council, Interact, Forensics, Fellowship of Christian
I am a Ph.D student of the Yeates School of Graduate Studies in the Environmental Applied Science and Management program. For the winter semester, I got around $13,000 OSAP loan which is cut down to $ 3353.00 for the whole term. I have two kids one is in grade 11 and another in grade seven. My wife had an open heart surgery so that she is unable to work. I am the only earning member of the family and a full-time student. We are fully depending on my OSAP loan. My current rent of the apartment is $1377.80. I have to maintain a four-member family for a four month period. If I add the scholarship amount after paying my tuition, the total amount for maintaining my family for four months will be $5126 (5000-3227=1177+3353). I have no savings from
I am so excited about attending SCTCC next year for the Associates Degree in CNC/Advanced manufacturing. The $2500 scholarship would benefit me greatly as I do not qualify for traditional aid, but also do not have parents who can afford to pay very much for my college costs. When attending SCTCC, I want to live near campus rather than commute because I believe it will help me be successful in my program if I do not have to worry about driving. Living near campus increases my costs and the scholarship for attending SCTCC would help me balance that out. I have a part time job, but do not have enough money saved for college, but am saving as much as I can while also keeping my grade level high. I am also a very positive person with a strong work
