RE: Quality Control Alternatives for Whistles
Regarding the recent issues concerning unsafe lead levels in the whistles to be shipped to our client in South America, I would like to propose the following solutions to provide speedy and satisfactory resolution to this problem:

We have striven to build trust with our South American clients, and the vigilance of our quality control team and our immediate actions to reduce harm and replace the product at a discount will go a long way to ensuring our continued strong relationship with them. Our company has built its reputation on social responsibility and high ethical standards; for this reason, we should move forward with the first option, which will address the issue in a timely manner that will allow us to return to normal functioning in the shortest amount of time.

RE: Development of Code of Ethics
Ethical decision making is absolutely essential if our company is to continue to grow and to maintain its standing in the business community. Ethical decision making is something that should not merely pertain to upper levels of management, but should apply to the company at all levels of its corporate hierarchy.
Two strategies we could adopt to ensure that ethical decision making takes place at all levels of our organization are:
1. To appoint a special committee of individuals hand-selected by the CEO and Board of Directors to research and compose an official Code of Ethics to be approved by the CEO and Board of Directors and to be implemented into our corporate culture at all levels of the hierarchy.
2. To hire an outside consulting firm
Option two can be justified due to the fact that it will produce the best overall results. The company image will be maintained utilizing this option. Although the company will be losing money on wasted product and labor, the consumers’ confidence will increase due to the fact that they will be ensured that safety is one of the key factors in our product. I believe stock prices will remain the same or increase once investors see how we reacted fast

The method of ethical decision making which was developed by Dr. Cathryn A. Baird presented two components contained in all ethical decisions which are; The Four ethical Lenses and the 4+1 Decision process. The Four Ethical Lenses issue claims that different ethical theories and the means in which we tend to approach the situations which form part of our ethical traditions are looked at in four different perspectives. From each perspective there are different values on which to decide whether the action taken is either ethical or not and each lens also lays emphasis on determining whether the decision made is of ethical requirement. In the 4+1 Decision Process, people who are responsible for making final decisions in an organization do it
The issue of ethical decision making has become more important in recent years for a variety of reasons. An understanding of ethical decision making in organizations is more significant to the development of organizational science. Managers engage in decision-making behavior affecting the lives and well-being of others. The individual responds to an ethical dilemma with cognitions determined by his or her cognitive moral development stage.
