My D.A.R.E. Report What I learned during D.A.R.E. is that you should avoid conversations when people ask you if you want drugs or cigarettes, by changing the subject or coming up with a random excuse to leave. Also, if you are walking home and someone is smoking and they ask you if you want one then you just walk away and find a different way home. I also learned that if someone nearby or that is standing next to you and is smoking then keep a good enough distance away so that you do not get second hand smoke from them, because it is very dangerous and can kill you.
How I plan to use what I have learned during D.A.R.E to keep me same is, that I will not take drugs from people when they offer me some and I will not mix drugs together because
Hi! My name is Isabella Hinojosa and I am in D.A.R.E. class. D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education and Define Assess Respond Evaluate. First, I will tell you about alcohol Some examples of alcohol is beer, wine, and liquor.
To live a healthy life you have to be able to get out of any drug situations. How you react to peer pressure can lead to a good or a bad consequence. Some ways to get out of bad peer pressure are state the facts, say no, walk away, excuses, ignore them, reverse pressure, give a better idea, steer clear and be a broken record. Now that sounds like a lot but you may need all of them in different situations. For example: I am walking with my friend. She asks if I want a cigarette. I would state the facts
Discussing how it would affect your mind and physical health. Knowing there are many influence factors that has a big role in many people starting to smoke. The first would be family history/background. This is most common factor because most people start when they was a child/ teenager. This would be coming from homes where family members smoke around the children’s, and the children tend to follow the parents. Children sometimes love to imitate their parents and any older sibling they think is acceptable to do (Wiley, 2011). Another great factor would be peer pressure; it is so similar to family history as well. Young teen’s younger children see their friend doing it and they get so much help and encouragement to try and do it. Some feel as though they may lose their friendship or “cool points” with their friends, which is so much more important to them. Not knowing the more you hang with the friends that smoke, the more you’re going to smoke until your now become addicted on your own. Now you can no longer quit, it becomes hard and uncontrollably hard to quit. Once again smoking doesn’t just affect the smoker it also affect the co-workers at the workplace, but for the smoker you would start needing unscheduled smoke breaks. Why? Because
Problem #5 Illicit opiate use Goal(s): To become drug free Status: Active Objectives/Progress: Pt. has not done well in achieving his goal of maintaining abstinence from all illicit substance use over the last quarter as evidenced by his positive UDS. Patient’s last urine screen results indicate that opiates have been used. Pt. reported that he was able to be clean from more than 30 days but he used drugs while walking through his neighborhood. Counselor expressed concern and disappointment about his recent relapse on heroin. During last month session, Pt. recognized the danger of the situation and how he will avoid the acquaintance that offered him drug. Pt. has failed to move to Phase 1 of the AMS of DE TX program due to his four positive UDS since entering the program on 7/6/16.Counselor will meet with Pt. to examine pt.'s motivation to stay clean, how to deal with triggers in order to achieve continued abstinence, to help him recover from his recent relapse and reenter the change process.
When a problem confronts us, there are several choices we can make. Officer Owen taught us how to respond and make the right choice. We could ignore the bullies and the drugs. It’s not as hard as you think. It might be hard to stop once you have started drinking and smoking but anybody can do it and it’s probably for the best. You have to learn to just say no. If somebody asks you if you want to smoke just say no and be confident. You could also try to talk your friend out of it and tell them it’s bad so they don’t get hurt.
These are things that I learned in DARE. The Introduction, DARE is Define, Assess, Respond, and Evaluate. First, drug abuse, what is drug abuse? When friends or strangers offer you drugs, which is bad. The only drugs are good are or is medicine your doctor gives you when you have strep throat which is amoxicillin. When strangers or friends offer you drugs you should say: no. Which is the option you do choose, but if they have something wrong with them and start attacking you or beat you up, then feel free to kick then in the shin or punch them and run if it’s after school but with the stranger, run away even if you are an adult still do.
In my mind, I can clearly remember being a part of D.A.R.E program in 5th grade. I remember that we did myriad of various activities and short performances that would help us say no to drugs, tobacco, and alcohol later on in the future. Then when it was graduation time, we presented little plays to our parents. So, when it becomes to be that time in the future when being pressured I will be able to apply that information I learned your side. So why not take some time to help students of TMS now? Would you want to see our kids go down the wrong path? Well I wouldn’t. With this program’s help, we can teach kids how to live a healthy and a happy life by saying no to peer pressure, tobacco, alcohol, and drugs. to the situation I am in,
Avoiding danger, such as drugs is difficult because you are so pressured by friends and family it becomes a hassle just looking at a sign for marijuana. Here are three ways to avoid the dangers of drugs. 1. Saying no is a great way to start as it gets` most people off your back. 2.If they are still pestering you then you need to consult an authority figure are an responsible grown up. The adult will then consult the harasser and hopefully they will leave you alone. 3. If all those fail, try your absolute best to avoid your harasser. These three ways will not get in the way of your school work and will keep you away from harmful drugs.
D.A.R.E means to me as an environment that educates you about drugs, alcohol, and the ways some people abuse them. D.A.R.E is also a place where I learned some things about how drugs and alcohol can affect in your body. D.A.R.E did not just teach me about drugs and alcohol, but bullying, stress, and communication. It taught me about ways I can relieve stress and how to report bullying safely. It even taught me how to communicate efficiently with my friends. Here are some of the skills we learned in D.A.R.E.
One of my first memories in the United States was taking a Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) class. I was in sixth grade and a top student, as talking about drugs and alcohol and the way they affect us was fascinating to me. This is why, the following year, I volunteered to become a peer educator in Teens Against Tobacco Use (T.A.T.U). For a couple of years, I gave presentations to young students which included facts, demonstrations, and games, to spread the knowledge that tobacco is harmful and that staying away from smoking prolongs life expectancy and increases the quality of life. It should come as no surprise, then, that I consider myself a big proponent of staying tobacco-free and encouraging others to quit smoking as a great way to promote health. I remember watching my mom and sister as they took part in their nightly ritual of smoking a few cigarettes to unwind. “Did you know that a main component of cigarettes is used as rocket fuel?” I would ask them, as I opened the window and they stared back at me blankly. “We know, we know” was the answer every time. I knew that convincing them to quit was no easy task, but I was committed. Day after day, I proudly stated a new fact about the evils of smoking. Finally one day, they quit. At first, they attributed it to the cost. Since we had just immigrated to the United States, the cost of cigarettes was simply not something they could afford. I didn’t believe it. I proudly

As you make tracks in an opposite direction from your propensity, you might feel enticed to purify your past. Numerous individuals have a tendency to disregard the overwhelmingly negative parts of drug use and rather concentrate on the couple of things that were pleasant about it. This is an enormous slip-up. So as to advance, you need to acknowledge that the dependent lifestyle is not feasible. In the event that it composes, down all the terrible things about your drug utilize, and keep your rundown convenient so you bear in mind. This is something to be thankful for to do when killing time in inpatient drug rehab.
When it comes to drug prevention and education, it must differ and be carefully designed depending on the age group and other contributing factors to drug use/abuse. One of the world’s largest and longest running programs has had a great impact on society, both nationally and globally. Even if someone has never attended a seminar or been taught a class in their school, a majority of people know or at least have heard of the D.A.R.E. program. This program has a humble beginning and a positive mission to prevent drug use and abuse as well as educate students on the dangers of drugs and other societal issues.
Nowadays students are not only being pressured to smoke by their peers and by their surrounding, but they are also watching their parents smoke. Many teens have been influenced by
First, listening: not to listen with only your ears, but your heart as well (Cohen etal 2nd ed.). Listening can be a hard task, however, easy to accomplish. You must want to hear, in order to make a difference, and to help someone to be successful. Smoking is a habit, an addiction, and not an easy task to conquer. However, it can be done. To have a successful program, counselors, must listen to the person,
