The American Revolution is a very debatable topic, and many disagree about how it affected American society, but I think that the American Revolution was revolutionary and brought a lot of benefits to the people. The main three reasons I believe that the American Revolution impacted us positively are because the Revolution had significant effects on the lives of slaves and free blacks, as well as the institution of slavery itself. The Revolution also ended the uprising in politicians' economies. The Revolution also unleashed powerful political, social, and economic forces that would transform post-Revolution politics and society, including increased participation in politics and governance, the legal institutionalization of religious toleration, and the growth …show more content…

Meanwhile, slaves demanded that they be included in the liberty for which America was fighting. The American Revolution had profound effects on the institution of slavery. As did Hamilton, who helped show people that slavery was not only horrendous but also helped them realize it only made them look bad, which in their eyes was the worst thing possible. Several thousand slaves won their freedom by serving on both sides of the War of Independence. As a result, the American Revolution had a big impact on lower-class people, slaves, and free blacks, as it would eventually encourage the antislavery movement. Slave revolts began to incorporate claims for freedom based on the revolutionary ideals of the Revolution; a surprising number of slaves were manumitted, while thousands of others freed themselves by running away. Another reason I believe the American Revolution was revolutionary is due to the fact that it put an end to political uprisings, which would help the people have their right to freedom.
