The colonies were exhausted with all with acts that taxed them. Like the Revenue Act placed goods such as wool and hides, which had been previously trade freely with other European countries but now the trade had to go through England ending with high prices on the goods (Fonor 173). Moreover this created more issues one of them was not being able to buy from other cheaper trading goods companies and just relying on the high price on England goods an issue that was discussed in class on July 13. The revolution brought new changes to what has been a monarchical style of government over the

From 1763 to 1775 the colonist thought that the British Government was continuously taking advantage of them and trying to take away their rights to self-rule. In 1763 King George the III signed the Proclamation of 1763. This proclamation prohibited the movement of English settlers west of the Appalachian Mountains.

Common Sense became the most popular book in the colonies and its ideas traveled fast. That same year the Declaration of Independence was issued by congress. The British made it clear that they wouldn’t allow this by occupying New York. The American Revolution erupted on April 19, 1775 because the American Colonies were dissatisfied with England mismanagement and their reluctance to compromise with taxation and strict trading policies. Due to previous war, Great Britain had huge debt that had to be paid. The British claimed they had fought the long and costly war to protect its American colonies from the French in Canada. So it was only right they should be taxed. However, the American Colonies disagreed, Angry, they immediately began to rebuke British goods and that is what ultimately led to the revolutionary war.
In 1793, 17 years after the American revolution the French had a revolution of their own that led to the disposing of Louis XVI and his subsequent beheading. This beheading and revolution sent shock waves around the world, but it also led to England and France getting into another conflict. This conflict would spread to involving the young United States and push the young nation to the brink of division and war. The U. The time period between 1775 and 1778 was filled with crucial events that played a crucial role in turning the tide of the war of independence and bearing the proceeding victory which had been heading on a downward spiral prior to these momentous victories. In April of 1775, the fire of the war was ignited by the opening gunshots initiated by the British in a chaotic dispute with the colonists of Lexington and Concord. War was inevitable and with the colonies in disarray, delegates from each colony called for a meeting of negotiation, wielding the Second Continental Congress. Collectively unready for the extreme challenges that awaited them, congress called for one last agreement of the Olive Branch Petition filling the likes of members both
The Age of Exploration was rooted in new technologies and ideas growing out of the Renaissance. These included advances in cartography, navigation, and shipbuilding. Europeans were the most powerful and innovative people to exist during this time period. Therefore, when England made a shift from a monarchy to a parliament in 1668, it had a significant and profound affect on the colonies in North America. New ideas helped stimulate a wave of revolutions in the whole Atlantic world from the 1770s to 1848.
How revolutionary was the American Revolution? That is the question, and the answers are very debatable. Some historians say that it was not revolutionary, and American leaders tried to hold on to their old ways. They argue that what really happened was that a group of rich, white, male leaders, such as George Washington or Thomas Jefferson, took over from another group of rich, white, male leaders, such as King George III and Parliament. Yet while these historians argue this, there is another group of historians that state that the Revolution was revolutionary, and I agree with them.
After the Seven Years’ War, even though the British victory helped to expand the English territories, but it also left Britain with a tremendous debt. The British thought the American colonists were the one who directly benefitted from the Seven Years’ War, so they should share their burdens and pay a significant piece of cost. There were several unpopular laws passed by the British government, such as the Revenue Act, the Sugar Act, and the Stamp Act, were intended to raise tax revenue in the colonies for the crown. England had first started having settlements in North America during The Age of Exploration, over time thirteen colonies were formed. In 1765 Britain began taxing their American colonies to help make up for the money lost by protecting them in the French and Indian war (bbc.com). This was the beginning of the colonies intolerance for their motherland. They continued to become more frustrated with Britain as they realized that as colonies of Britain they did not have all the same rights as British citizens. In 1775 the civil war between Britain and it’s thirteen colonies had just begun and lasted until 1783(bbc.com).
American Revolution The American Revolution was a hard fought war that lasted eight years, and created a time of extreme hardship and turmoil. Not everyone supported the Revolution. About forty percent of the population joined the patriots, while twenty to thirty percent remained loyal to the king.
Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe all contained at least a single thing in common, and that was affecting the aftermath of the American Revolution in a way that would adjust and change the design of our history. Even though they all did affect our lives, they weren’t all the same, along with the fact that they weren’t all the best. The question is, what impacted us for the better, and what destroyed us ultimately?
From 1763 to 1776 many battles occurred between the colonies and Great Britain. Colonist believed that Great Britain’s creation of laws such as the Stamp Act and Sugar Act were taking away their liberties and money. In response, the colonist rebelled to break away from Great Britain and become their own nation which today is know as the United States. Although the colonist growth in nationalism was a reason for the revolution, Britain's economic, political, and social policies on the 13 colonies influenced the colonist to rebel for their freedom which was also called the American Revolution.
