This quote shows how even Scott knows that Mouth doesn’t have really any friends, and even after trying to kill himself, people still don’t care to visit him to see if he is okay. If anyone has ever had a bad first day at school, that’s what almost every day of high school seemed like for Scott and his friends. In the book Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie a lot of the characters changed a lot, but Scott did change the most. Scott changed the most because he became more social and because he became a lot less judgemental. For some people high school is a breeze, but for some it’s not. Sleeping Freshman Never Lie is a book about a boy named Scott and his first year of high school. His brother Bobby was never a good kid in school, so he didn’t have any advice to help him. He had no clue what to expect when walking into school the first day. Scott joined a lot of the school clubs including Student Council, the School Paper, and the Stage Crew. He had his two best friends with him all of the time until they started to go their own ways. When they went their separate ways he made different friends. He met Wesley and Lee, but these were people he would’ve never been friends with before. Lee was known to be really weird, and Wesley was scary to Scott. For someone who didn’t know what to expect about high school, he did a pretty good job handling everything. Bobby changed the most in Sleeping Freshman Never Lie because he went from acting tough to opening up about his personal problems, and he went from making bad decisions to switching his life around.
In high school you may find yourself trying to fit in, trying to be like everyone else to be “cool”, and you may lose sight of the more important things or yourself in general. Josh Baskins wants to be big so he can impress his crush and the next day he wakes up to be a man. He was trying to fit in with the “cool” kids.. Josh literally did not recognize himself. After Josh’s transformation, he begins to try and fit in by getting a job, and later he gets so caught up in his new life that he forgets who he really is, a twelve year old boy. Later on in high school you may be so caught up in other’s opinions that you change yourself to satisfy everyone else and your happiness will be put last until you no longer recognize yourself.

Eighth grade. I can honestly tell you that I have learn almost nothing in academic, but that would only stretch the true. I cannot truly remember what went on exactly in eighth grade, but I can specifically remember my English class, a place of hopelessness. My English at the time of eighth grade was not the best nor was it the worst, however I did struggle in English the most. My experience in eighth grade was not the same as Michael J. Romick, his was a much more learning compare to mine. Romick was engaged for the first time in academics, the moment he had heard the combination of poetry with music he had become stunned. In middle school she found that high school has more excitement and that middle school was just another waiting years to grow up. Over the course of the summer before entering high school, she new that she had a fresh start and a fresh location to write another chapter. What many people don't realize is that high school, in many ways, is similar and differrent from college. Not only are people changing but the surroundings and work change as well.
