I didn’t grow up reading Harry Potter. I was already in college when the first book came out. I think there are several reasons why Harry Potter has had such a large impact on readers. One aspect of Harry Potter made a huge impact on readers are the deep friendships made during the book. Harry, Ron, and Hermione became the best of friends. They went through good times and bad times, but they remained friends. There are other characters who are accessory characters, who are also friends. The books showed readers how to make friends and to keep friends. I love the fact that the friends did not abandon each other in the bad times and that the friendship only grew stronger with time.
Harry Potter may be about magic, but it is also a
It allowed me to connect with the author’s thoughts and thoroughly understand the story or novel. Because of this, it caused me to enjoy reading, which I was not particularly fond of before.
All this has added to the growing popularity of the Harry Potter brand that is everywhere today. Young readers can relate to Harry’s issues and the books create another world the readers can subconsciously ‘escape’ too.
Many people believe that there is only one world that exist, but what they didn’t know is there is another world out there that seems to be out of the ordinary. A young boy named Harry Potter lives in a normal world and has no clue of what has yet to come for him. As his eleventh birthday strikes at midnight a man whose name is Hagrid, from the wizard world, reveals to Harry that he is not just human in the muggle world (a world where people were born without magic), but he is a wizard that is known as “The boy who lived” and it is time for him to start his training. As Harry Potter leaves the muggle world to attend to wizard school known as, Hogwarts, he experiences many strange adventures that may cause him to adjust because both worlds combined
J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, which have reached worldwide popularity have an effect on children has not been matched by any other book. The novels have encouraged children to read for entertainment instead of turning to television or video games. When a piece of literature inspires children as the Harry Potter novels do, limiting a child’s access to the novels seems ridiculous. Unfortunately, this is what is happening with Harry Potter. The books are challenged and banned in schools and libraries all over the world because parents contend that the content is unsuitable. The content, which revolves around a world full of wizardry and witchcraft, has some parents actively
Some people know it as a series that sparks imagination and makes people have big dreams. Others say it is a demon-filled piece of garbage that should be banned in all United States schools. No matter how a person may feel, after reading, it is hard to argue that it has no impact on the way you see things. Even though the books are about witchcraft and wizardry, the main theme of the books is believing in yourself and trusting your instincts. I learned from this that while I may not always know where I am heading, or why certain things are happening, I do know that what is going to happen is going to happen no matter what. We have little impact on the things that go on around us and it is a lot more effective to just go with the flow and make the best of the cards that are dealt to
To begin with, there is a depth to every character. For example after reading the book you will know very much about Hassan, like how he was homeschooled until the ninth grade and his father never went to college but is making over $100,000 salary, you will even know Hassan’s favorite T.V. show, and he isn’t the main character in the story either. By the end of the story it will feel like you have known the characters sense you were little, so these characters will help readers connect to the book. Also, the characters aren’t stereotypical. For example, Colin, a child prodigy since the age of two has been praised by his parents, talked about in articles, and even won $100,000 on a gameshow. You expect him to be confident and independent but actually he is the complete opposite, he needs someone in his life to tell him he has a purpose. These character twists intrigue readers to find out what happens to the characters, so they have to keep on reading. The depth and personalities to the characters in the book are even more of a reason to read this
Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling is a magical story about a boy who set on a heroic journey to save his home. Along the way he shows great heroism, courage, and natural intelligence as he navigates his way through Hogwarts and it’s mystery’s. Harry Potter’s story left a mark in every audience member's heart and a permanent fondness for the magical story in their minds.
I think I can relate to Harry as well as everyone else can because the author gives Harry problems and attributes that everyone has. For instant Harry tries to be sneaky many times in the story.
Harry Potter is a fictional character invented by J.K Rowling in the series of seven books starting with Harry Potter and the Philosopher 's Stone and ending with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Wikipedia, 2015). Harry is the main character in this series whose parents died when he was young and he was brought up by his aunt and uncle (Philosopher’s Stone, 1997, p.5). Harry was neglected by his aunt and uncle (Philosopher’s Stone, 1997, p.27). Harry is presented a whole new reality when he goes to the zoo one day and his integration into the magical world changes him from the foundation. These changes within him will be analysed using the developmental psychology theories of Lawrence Kohlberg and Erik Erikson to explain how the environment aided or obstructed Harry’s development.
The generation of people being raised right now is obsessed with pop culture. Music, television, celebrities, fashion, movies, and books all have a significant impact on this generation. This generation’s morals and personalities are being shaped by the pop culture that surrounds us. Years from now, people will still be a product of two very popular book and movie series that have greatly effected our pop culture: Harry Potter and Twilight. Both have brought new fashion and trends to the world and it is not uncommon for you to hear references to the books on a day-to-day basis, but more importantly, both series have brought extremely different examples of love to this generation. Even though the Harry
The movie adaptation of J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a very pivotal movie in the series. Like the book, this movie is crucial in setting up an understanding for the rest of the series. Therefore it is important that the movie complements the novel as much as possible. Using one of the most essential features of a movie; visual imagery, the movie adaptation of the fourth novel is a good accompaniment for the novel. The visual imagery in this movie emphasizes emotions and reactions that we cannot possibly obtain from the book. For example, the death of Cedric Diggory at the end of the movie strikes a powerful emotional response as a result of his father, Amos Diggory’s grief. Seeing him cry makes the audience more
Have you ever read the Harry Potter series? I bade you to read the Harry Potter series. I have three reasons why you should read the novel, and they are: if you like magic, if you like wizards and witches, if you like suspense, then read the Harry Potter series. However, if you haven’t read the series, here is a brief description of the first book of the novel: “The Fantasy Novel, ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’, By J.K. Rowling is about a boy named Harry Potter who was a one year old that was left on the doorstep of his mother’s sister’s house, (Petunia Dursley). His Aunt and her husband, Vernon Dursley, accepted Harry. Eleven years later Harry Potter receives a letter from one of the best schools of Witchcraft and Wizardry named Hogwarts, a school for magic people. When Harry finds out he is a wizard, he sets off for Hogwarts, where he finds that he is very famous because of his lightning shaped scar and his great Quidditch skills. He also meets many kind people and his very first best friends, named Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger. Harry, Ron, and Hermione survive all the way to the end of the novel, where they discover that the Sorcerer’s Stone is about to be stolen, so Harry Ron, and Hermione try to save the stone. Finally Harry Potter alone reaches the stone where he meets the thief of the stone, the Dark Lord. There he most importantly finds a path he must take later in the series to overtake the Dark Lord, if he could survive his destiny.” After reading
Another factor which I believe has led to the novels success is that while reading, the reader wishes that they could live in this fantasy world created by Rowling where life is anything but ordinary. The novels make the reader somewhat desire a life like the one led by the characters of the novels, like going to a school to learn wizarding, always having extraordinary things happen and just being at Hogwarts seems like an unequaled joy for some. These novels have the ability to reignite the long lost imaginations of adults, and keep the imaginations of children strong.
Within the story of Harry Potter there are many concepts to be noted. This book is interesting and very different from any other book. These many concepts will tell you about some of these strange things that goes on.
It is clear that the Harry Potter series has taken a journey on the Hogwarts Express to the road of international success. The “Harry Potter” series is the story of the eponymous boy, orphaned at birth and left in the care of the aunt and uncle along with the ill mannered son who make up the Dursley family who are known as “Muggles” (non-magical people). On Harry's eleventh birthday, Harry receives a letter from Hogwarts, a school that grooms young wizards and witches, and promptly enters a world of wonder and mystery. At Hogwarts, he meets his two closest friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger who begin there adventure together through love, friendship and learning about magic. Harry learns very soon that the death of his parents was no
