In the book, Horton Hears a Who he defended the people on the speck. Everybody Thought he was crazy but he knew that he heard little people on that speck. He said, "A persons a person no matter how small". He was willing to do anything to save these little people that nobody else knew about. Horton protected the unheard, Horton is like the people that try to stop abortion. Nobody could hear the little people on the speck. So they thought that they weren't there. Just like Horton people that try to stop abortion are trying to stop the doctors from getting rid of someone that doesn't have a voice. When a doctor does abortion they kill a living person. Just because the baby can't say don't kill me, they think that they can. Just like …show more content…
When an intruder came in a women's house, she grabbed a shotgun to protect her kids. Then when the guy came near she said "back up" and pointed the gun at him. Then when he moved closer to her and then she said, without thinking she shot the man. Then the man turned around and stumbled out of the house. Horton was willing to put himself at risk to save people that were smaller than sand. When he resisted them he didn't know what they would do to him, They could've gone way further than just burning the speck, they could've exiled him. When the mom shot the man he could've run right at her and hurt her. But luckily everything ended up being fine for both Horton and the mom. Only Horton knew how scared the whos were, the other animals didn't even think they existed, so they definitely didn't think they were scared. When the intruder came in the mom was sitting in the room with the children, she probably saw that they were shaking and terrified. (Mason, P.1) He encouraged them to be louder when nobody heard them. If they wouldn't have all made noise, and did it their best, they all would've died. When he found Jojo, a little twerp the mayor said come hear and he came to the highest building, and then he yelped. That little yelp was all that the sky needed to let out all of the

Horton: Michael Horton wants us to understand that “the image of God is not something in us that is semidivine but something between us and God that constitutes a covenantal relationship (123)”. Horton wants to make sure that we know that we are the image of God. The image of God is not something that we have or carry. Since we are created in the image of God, Horton believes that God has called us to be a faithful image of him and we do this by accomplishing our calling that was given to us by God. Being created in the image is a present but it is also a task for us. It is a gift because we are given the opportunity to be like Christ. But it is a task because we need to work in order to show others who God is. So by going out and doing sinful acts we were ruining the image of God.
because he wanted justice, and valued the importance of life. In the last part of the story a line
The overall worldview of “Horton Hears A Who!” was one of Christian worldview. There were scenes in the movie that represented atheistic views. The characters in the movie had to be open-minded with the obstacles that lead them to reality. They had to believe in change in order to understand the beliefs and concerns of others. The earth is similar to the speck, because we are floating around the universe just like the speck was floating through the air. The importance of this movie reveals that big people (higher power) need to listen and look after smaller people. As Horton states, “A person is a person, no matter how small”.
His employer was trying to shaft him. He fought for his rights, not knowing what the outcome would be, but knowing this was something he felt he must do.
Whereas those that are against abortion believe that abortion is against God’s law in the Bible, in the Bible one of the ten commandments is “thou shall not kill” meaning that we are to value human life and treat every person with the dignity befitting someone made in the image of God. When we fail to listen to God on this point, there are consequences - more death, more killing, more inhumanity to man. When we listen to him, things are better for everyone. Abortion is murder; it is the killing of an unborn baby. In the 21st century, regular people are not allowed to go out and just murder someone for no reason, so why should doctors be allowed to murder unborn babies? This is a question that is often argued a lot by those that are against abortion. According to John C. Willke, president of the National Right to Life Committee, “at the union of sperm and ovum there exists a living, single-celled, complete human being.” Therefore according to what John C. Willke says abortion at any stage of pregnancy is the
Each day throughout our world, medical professionals suction thousands of babies from their mothers’ wombs through a procedure called abortion. The law protects and provides consent to both the mother and the medical professionals for these procedures. However, the babies seemingly have no right to protection or life themselves because of the argument regarding when a fetus is determined be human and have life. Pro-life author, Sarah Terzo, in a LifeSiteNews.com article, relays the following testimony supporting this from a medical student upon witnessing his first abortion, “Rejected by their mothers and regarded as medical waste by their killers, society allows these babies to die silently, with no recognition or acknowledgment of their
Since the legalization of abortion, more than 126,000 abortions have been performed every day and more than 46,000,000 each year (AbortionTV). One may say they can’t understand how a mother can just kill her child because of her irresponsibility. She may rebuttal back with the answer that the fetus is not yet human and it wouldn’t feel any pain anyway. Studies show that the
Many Americans or even others around the world that believe abortion is murder. Abortion is so much like murder as it is killing someone, it is the defiance of the community to agree with the sanity of a human life. There is no place on earth where someone does not get charged for harming someone intentionally or taking the life of someone, abortion is no different. For example, if someone picked up a knife and stabbed another human being and ends up killing them. It is similar to a process of abortion occurs like when the physician uses his/her utensils to take out the fetus. That person will get charged for killing that person, why wouldn’t a woman get charged for killing her own unborn child? It may seem like the physician is doing all the “crime” but it is under the mother 's responsibility because of her decision to have the abortion. People say that the fetus has no idea of
Of all the legal, ethical, and moral issues we Americans continuously fight for or against, abortion may very well be the issue that Americans are most passionate about. The abortion issue is in the forefront of political races. Most recently the “no taxpayer funding for abortion act”, has abortion advocates reeling. Even though abortion has been legal in every state in the United States since the monumental Supreme Court decision, “Roe v Wade”, on January 22, 1973; there are fewer physicians willing to perform abortions today than in 2008. (Kraft) At the heart of the ethical dilemma for many in the medical profession is the viability of the fetus. And just to make this whole dilemma more confusing, according to the United States
Maudie’s words hung around the atmosphere uncomfortably. She’d said to me that there were a handful of people in the town who would support Atticus in his mission to defend Tom Robinson. From what I could see, no one wanted to do such thing, absolutely no one. The whole town stood still. They all sat in their tiny homes, waiting for
They continue by stating that abortion is simply a process that terminates pregnancy, not a life. This is an obvious misconception since the term embryo refers to humans at particular states of development. They are not blobs in a state of development, but rather humans growing to be ready for life. This simple blob or embryo that people believe is okay to obliterate is actually already a complex form of a human. Even before the trimester stage the baby will have all its body parts needed for the rest of his or her life. Although countless scientific and medical textbooks agree that human life begins at conception, people are still doubtful whether or not our science is correct. But if we are truly uncertain when life starts, it still does not give us the right to destroy a possible life. Why must we doubt thousands of intelligent scientists who agree that life begins at conception because of religious beliefs? Can you truly say it is okay to kill a life because people’s religious beliefs? No matter how much better it sounds defining abortion as terminating pregnancy, in the end a heartbeat is stopped, and a life is not able to continue.
A long on-going subject that has been greatly debated in our society is abortion. Many people argue that because the baby in the mother’s womb is not alive, aborting him or her is not considered a murder. However, others say that as the baby’s heart and brain are the first things to develop, the baby is technically alive and killing it would be a murder. As soon as the baby has a heartbeat, it has life. Abortion has many characteristics of a murder, including the killing of one human being by another, it’s unethical, and it is done without the consent of the person.
