Harassment, exclusion, physical assault, these things should not have to be suffered by anyone. Well that’s all what speak is about, Melinda, a freshman who is bullied and ignored for calling the police during a summer party. But that’s not what I’m here to talk about, I’m talking about why it’s important to be courageous, and I’m using the book speak, as an example. Put simply, it’s important to be courageous because everyone has to stand up for themselves.

What happened was an unknown person murdered her parents and the maid with an axe and gave them 12 Whacks to the head. Louis Zamperini’s life, he had some difficulties, and may be different from others, but he still had made through all of the difficulties he’ve been through. For him he made it through with a blink of an eye, well at least that’s how it showed the readers. Louie was different from other kids. He would drink beer and smoke at a young age. He then grew little by little becoming a runner. He was the best runner people have ever seen in forever. He was best known for that, he went to the Olympics, but it got canceled because of war, their war against Japan. His two character traits that stood out the most was being strong and fearless. This story is based on real life, and on a book called Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand.
In “In the Time of the Butterflies” by Julia Alvarez, one of the sisters, Mara Teresa, in the first part of the book, is sensitive and naive to Trujillo. If one had to fight in the war would one play pretend? Lobel does. Lobel is a minor character in fallen angels. He is Jewish and suspected homosexual. Lobel is a static character. He hardly changes until the end of the book when he has to kill a cong. Lobel joins the army to get away from his father and to try to change his father thoughts. Lobel has an adequate impact in the book. He is put in this book for people to relate to. Lobel is rebuffed, angry and scared. Without him, it would just be another war story.
First, a slave is someone who gets treated really bad. You either get hit or have to work a lot. In plantation you have to work hard every day in the morning, afternoon, and later in the evening. All ages have to work really hard even if they are the elderly people or little kids. Although working in plantations was a challenge, working in farms wasn't as bad.
Due to details from the text, Louisa May Alcott was anxious to participate, in some way, in the Civil War. First, in paragraph 2 it states, "I’ve often longed to see a war, and now I have my wish. " This shows that Alcott wants to participate in the war because she "longed" to see the war, and when she is able to be a nurse in the war, she says she has her wish. Also in paragraph 4 it states, "I like the stir in the air, and long for battle like a warhorse when he smells powder." From this, I can infer that Alcott is anxious to participate in the war because when she describes the war, she describes it as something that makes her feel confident/happy.

People act different in certain situations some coward and run away while others stand strong and be courageous. Atticus shows great amount of courage against the mob that was threaten to hurt him if he didn’t move out of the way and let them get Tom Robinson out of the upstairs of the jail house. He just sits there with not a worry in the world standing up and protecting Tom Robinson from the angry crowd.
“It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends,” said Albus Dumbledore (J. K. Rowling, chapter 17). Although it takes courage to stand up to anyone it is more difficult with a friend than an enemy because you are opposing someone who would normally be backing you up for an argument. This quote is shown to be true throughout the book To Kill a Mockingbird. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird Atticus, Scout, and Jem learn the importance of helping others.
To continue, through the differences in character within the novel and movie, it is noticeable that individuals gain hope through high levels of confidence in one’s own capabilities. In the novel, Captain Freyberg possesses a high amount of confidence in finding something important from the war, which provides high levels of hope. Besides duties as a captain, Freyberg spends time at each scene trying to find what the Nazis have been hiding. Freyberg describes a secondary duty of “looking for something and someone more important,” (43). Freyberg constantly tells fellow peers of one day discovering someone important and how Freyberg “will not let the war end” (43) until doing so.
The final trait I chose was being friendly.
