Imagine being suspended upside-down in a water filled, glass fronted tank with hundreds of spectators watching your every move. One wrong twist could cause your body to cramp up and leave it virtually paralyzed. Blood racing to your head like the speed of a B-17 Flying Fortress. Some men would cringe at the sound of this experience, not Harry Houdini. Houdini lived for those life threatening moments of impossible escape. Magicians from around the world have aspired to live up the the greatness of Harry Houdini and his unbelievable escapes; it's safe to say that none have succeeded. March 24, 1874, Ehrich Weisz was the youngest born out of four children to Jewish parents Cecilia and Mayer Weisz. The family lived in Budapest, Hungary for the first four years of Ehrich’s life until Mayer immigrated to America in search for work. He found a job as a pastor at a rural church in the small city of Appleton, Wisconsin. Through his youth, Ehrich only grew to the height of five feet and five inches. He had a mysterious-looking face with wavy, black hair and dark grey eyes that seemed to stare straight through the soul. He had ups; he had downs, but his life never failed to amaze anyone. He lived every single day like it was his last, no regrets. People would push through large crowds just to get a glimpse at one of his life threatening stunts. “Others have been killed trying to duplicate his feats, but Houdini thrived on danger.
