The shooting occurred at the Fruitvale train station on January 1st, 2009. At the station, a fight broke out in one of the trains and when the train stopped the fight started again outside of the train at one of the stops. While they were fighting on the train the BART officers were called. The officers came and arrested everyone that was in the fight. A guy named Oscar Grant was in the fight and was also arrested (Meyer). While Grant was being arrested by Officer Mehserle, he resisted the officer’s attempts. Since Grant was resisting he was pushed onto the ground on his stomach to be handcuffed. Johannes Mehserle was having trouble handcuffing Grant so the other BART officers helped him. When Grant was on the ground Mehserle was going to tase him since he would not stop resisting. When Mehserle thought he pulled out his TASER, he instead pulled out his gun. Mehserle accidentally shot Grant with his gun since he thought he pulled out his TASER (Bulwa).

After a short tussle the two men exchanged shots and Richardson fled the scene on foot. Two other officers that were on the main street above the subway station were made aware of what was transpiring below and rushed to the scene. As they approached the entrance of the station, Richardson who was fleeing the scene ran directly into one of the

Three friends, one train, one terrorist… The 15:17 to Paris is based on the actual events of the August 21, 2015 terrorist attack that took place on a high speed train traveling from Amsterdam to Paris France. The 15:17 to Paris is placed in the categorizing genre as history, drama and a thriller. This film, directed by Clint Eastwood, was somewhat controversial in the world of film due to the very interesting choice Mr. Eastwood made when casting the actual heroes of the attack to portray themselves. The story takes the viewer back to how Spencer Stone, Alek Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler met, and just like the old myths we grew up on, it takes us through the trials the friends faced growing up and during the attack.
There was a terror attack on the train shortly before it arrived at the station. A suicide bomber wearing a heavy explosives vest showing her protest against the border I suppose. I didn’t read the report though. As was expected the government led the civilians to safety and I was sent home early, with a few bucks to compensate my lack of pay. The
