At 5:35 p.m. on last Friday, Mr. Khazzani emerged from a toilet between cars 12 and 13, wearing a backpack while shirtless, with a rifle hung on his torso. A passenger, who was waiting to use the restroom, grabbed him and pushed him against the baggage racks. Khazzani freed himself as a conductor came across the scene and fired several shots. At that point two off-duty, unarmed American servicemen got involved, placing him

An Islamic student living in Paris says “When you look at a Muslim it is tough” and his has definitely been the case for many non muslim Parisians looking for answers to the senseless lives taken. The Muslim community have expressed their thoughts on this matter and have stated that they are not shocked at the attacks as Muslims but has Parisian citizens. The three Americans who recently stopped a terrorist attack on a passenger train in Europe have finally talked about the ordeal. Spencer Stone, one of the people who helped stop the attack, stated that he saw Moroccan Ayoub El-Khazzani holding an assault rifle. That was when Stone and his two friends stopped the attacker by choking him unconscious.
In recent news, there has been a string of attacks all over the world; each attack has been related to terrorism. A passenger boarded a train traveling from Amsterdam to Paris, armed with a box cutter, a pistol and an AK-47 with intent to harm innocent people. Four passengers on the train quickly subdued the terrorist before anyone could be harmed. In November, Paris, France was struck with terror when three armed men set off a string of attacks throughout the city, to include a bomb and active shootings. This attack left nearly 127 people killed and wounded. Most recently, in San Bernadino, California a man and woman left from a holiday party and returned with assault rifles. The officials attributed their act to terrorism, where the
On January 6,2017, just before 1pm, reports came in that there has been a shooting inside the Fort Lauderdale airport in Florida. This attack last Friday left 5 people dead and eight injured. This comes at a time when the United States is very vulnerable with Donald Trump replacing Obama as president, Russia allegedly hacking, and unsteady affairs with foreign countries. This is the first mass shooting of the year and is a very depressing one. What the police have found out is the killer is Esteban Santiago. Santiago is a 26 year old National Guard veteran living in Anchorage Alaska. In 2010-2011 Santiago was deployed to Iraq and when he returned he was not the same. He reported to the FBI he thought the government was controlling his mind
After the Brussels massacre that took place on March 22nd, a question of faith rose surrounding the sanctity of the Islamic faith. In an article meant to expose answers to this very question John Kasich brings up a point that when people claim France is at war with Islam, they actually should be referring to radical Islam. This point pulled further controversy as those who were not Islamic began to wonder if the faith condoned suicide bombings in the name of expelling infidels and bringing the coming of the Caliphate. Another case mentioned in the same article details the prosecution of the Blind Sheikh, whose terrorist group attempted to bring down the World Trade Center back in 1993. While the U.S. government had attempted to paint
On Friday at approximately 4:30 p.m., two Muslim women were sitting on a Metropolitan Area Express train in Portland, one of whom was wearing a hijab. A man, identified as Jeremy Joseph Christian, approached the women and began to harass them with what the Portland police described during a press conference as "hate speech." When two men attempted to diffuse the situation and calm Christian down, he stabbed
Arcan Cetin, a United States resident who is originally from Turkey, is suspected of killing four women and one man at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington. It is presumed based on video evidence that he originally entered the mall unarmed, and then within minutes he walked back into the mall, into Macy’s, carrying a rifle when he then proceeded to shoot five victims. In an article by CNN, the police mentioned that when he was finally found, he seemed “kind of zombie-like” (2016) and did not say anything nor did he put up a fight when he was arrested. The police are currently unaware of his reasoning and motives behind the shooting and whether or not he even knew the victims that he fatally shot. He was a troubled teenager and had been in and out of the court system due to acts of assault and physical harassment of girls at his high school. There are no significant signs pointing to a terrorist threat but the police said that they were not going to rule anything out since it is so early in the investigation.
A report that was released by the United States Justice Department on February 12, 2016, showed that a “Florida man pleads guilty to a hate crime for threatening to firebomb two mosques and shoot worshippers.” The 43-year-old man by the name Martin Alan Schnitzler was arrested by the FBI on November 17, 2015, after he made numerous threats to shoot children in the head and firebomb a mosque in Petersburg, Florida. In his two recorded messages, Schnitzler said that he is watching the news report that covered the terrorist attacks in Paris. In these attacks, 130 lives were lost while more than 300 were seriously injured. Those responsible for these series of attacks were members of a terrorist group known as the Islamic States of Iraq and Levant (ISIL). Since ISIL members claim to be practicing Muslims and also fighting for the cause of Islam (Jihad), Schnitzler showed the same enmity he has for the ISIL terrorists to his non-violence Muslim neighbors. For this reason, he wanted to avenge the death of the victims of the Paris attacks by firebombing and shooting his Muslim neighbors’ two-year-old children in the head.
On Dec. 2, 2015, two violent extremists opened fire at an office holiday party in San Bernardino, Calif., killing 14 and injuring at least 22 others. It was one of the deadliest mass shootings in American history. It has been treated as the emergency situation that it truly is. Hundreds of investigators have been deployed from local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Dozens of people of interest have been interviewed, social networks have been scoured, no stone has been left unturned. On Thursday, a neighbor, Enrique Marquez, was arrested and charged with three federal crimes including providing material support to a terrorist, immigration fraud and making a false statement relative to the purchase of a firearm. The speed of the
Los Avispones, a soccer team of high schoolers from the city of Chilpancingo, had played a match that night against a local team in Iguala. At 11:15 p.m., the players were on their bus and heading home. Their route took them through a state police roadblock where they were rerouted. About 7 miles out of the city, gunmen fired on the bus, killing a player and the driver and wounding seven others. The soccer players, including one who had been shot in the eye and was bleeding profusely, managed to drive to a nearby army battalion where they weren't given help. The gunmen also fired on a taxi and killed a 40 year old
