To live on Mars we have to be able to grow food. Foods that grow fast and don’t need an excessive amount of water. Some of those foods are: green onions, lettuce, baby carrots, spinach, kale, peas, bush beans, turnips, cucumber and squash. The longest amount of time that some of these plants will take to grow is 80 days. The least amount of days that it will take to grow some of them is 10 days. Another plant called the snake plant gives off oxygen for humans. It is a small plant, the leaves are 2-4 inches wide, and several feet long. It is one of the best plants for low light areas. In other words it doesn’t need that much light. It doesn’t need very much water either.
We decided that we are going to send 8 people to mars. Each one of

They will need oxygen because, they need to breathe because the air on Mars is not breathable. They will need water because you can only go 3 days without water and then you will die and it takes a year to get to Mars. They will need sunlight, because all living things need sunlight to survive because it gives you Vitamin D. They will need food because without food your liver will start to take fat from your body to keep it alive and that would cause you to die. And lastly they will need a good enough climate because, living organisms need heat because if they get too cold their body will start to shut down.
The environment of Mars is very hostile, because the atmosphere is 100 times thinner than earth. 95% of Mars is carbon dioxide, and living things cant breathe in carbon dioxide. It only has 1/3 of the amount of gravity that we have on earth, so we would need to have a way to hold us down so that we could walk normally. The years on Mars, also called "Martian Years" are two times longer than a regular 360 day, year on Earth. The temperatures on Mars will make it very difficult to live there. The lowest temperature that it can get there is –195 degrees Fahrenheit. The highest temperature that it can get there is 70 degrees Fahrenheit. By living on Mars you have a 3% chance of getting cancer from the UV and radiation rays. Although the soil on Mars can protect living organisms a small amount of the time from the UV and radiation
Mars’ conditions make it extremely difficult for any type of living organism to survive. The text states “7) Environmental reaction. All animals interact with their environment.” (Source A). Furthermore, the ext in Source B states “‘We don’t find nitrates in the Martian soil,’ said Catling. ‘All life on earth uses Nitrogen. In proteins, [Nitrogen] is a structural element that holds life together. Life takes Nitrogen directly out of the air and puts it into the soil to form nitrates. But we don’t see nitrates on Mars.” This shows that if any type of organism known to us would not be able to survive on Mars. All life must rely on their environment, and they must rely on nitrogen as well. However, there is no nitrogen in the Martian soil, so the animals would quickly die off. Furthermore, Source B also states that there is too much carbon monoxide in the air for animals to survive. This is harmful to animals, and they could not survive in such conditions on
The people that go to mars are risking their lives they can die of many things, including lack of oxygen and sickness. There is no atmosphere on Mars so therefore there is no oxygen which all humans need. The people will try to make an atmosphere by planting plants which let off oxygen, which could easily fail. Some
With the development of public health in U.S., the health insurance coverage has benefited most American citizens. But there is a large ethnic minority group in the U.S. which is most likely to lack coverage, Hispanics. Concerning Latinos with health, there is a barrier for Latinos to get health care. Latinos who are not citizens or permanent residents do not have health insurance, even though PPACA legal non-citizen residents will be able to buy insurance. Without health insurance, Hispanics face health disparities that make them suffer with bad health outcomes and having a higher illness rates.
NASA researchers Nicole Herrman, Douglas Craig, and Patrick Troutman in their article “The Evolvable Mars Campaign-Study Status” outline characteristics of the Martian environment that can potentially aid a manned mission to Mars. Even though the environment on Mars is harmful to a living Earth organism (without a spacesuit) it aids our production of creating a stable environment for us and using our equipment. Some of the ways the NASA researchers have found about the Mars environment that can be use an accrued man mission comes in play of its been atmosphere Mars is moons in the lack of oxygen.
Mars was just like Earth about four billion years ago. Mars used have a very similar atmosphere and magnetic field until something that is disputed happened around 3.7 billion ago whether that be a huge asteroid hit it, solarwinds destroyed it, or Mars lost it due to its low gravity. The first reason Mars is up for colonization is because Mars has frozen water in its soil. Which means a lot for colonization like the ability to grow plants and a drinking source. Another Reason is Mars lack of extremities. Mars average temperature is -284 degrees in the winter and 84 degrees in the summer their days are also only 40 minutes longer than the Earth's. Even those these temperature seem crazy they are relatively modest compared to other planets in the Universe. The final reason is its location. Mars would take between 39 days to 289 days to reach is relatively close in comparison to the size of the universe (Rau). Mars is now the most looked at the planet for human colonization because of those
After the Earth, Mars is the most habitable planet in our solar system. Its soil contains water and when compared to our neighbor planets, Mars isn’t too cold or too hot. There is enough sunlight to use solar panels and its gravity is 38% that of our Earth’s, which is believed by many to be sufficient for the human body to adapt to in a healthy fashion. It has an atmosphere, albeit a thin one that offers protection from cosmic and sun’s radiation. Another important point is also the day and night rhythm, which is very similar, that of Earth: a Mars day is 24hours, 39 minutes and 35 seconds. According to the data gasses like carbon dioxide and nitrogen are found in the atmosphere of Mars which can be used to grow plants through hydroponics.
My family is moving to Mars. Mars has a thin atmosphere. So, we will have to get used to that. Mars is a big desert. It has all the things a normal desert has, but it is really cold. It is not going to be very comfortable.
Once the astronauts land on Mars, their survival will become an experiment. No one has done this before and the astronauts literally have to make food and oxygen from rocks. Life support equipment could fail. Issues might occur that scientists back on Earth haven't even thought of yet. Radiation such as cosmic rays and energy particles from the sun may effect the astronauts. Both types of radiation can severely damage the astronauts DNA, increasing their chance of getting cancer. In addition to, the high risk of travel will decrease the survival chances. During the launch to space the astronauts will be strapped down tightly in a rocket with so much power that it might explode. The rocket might hit space debris and might veer into the sun or in the middle of deep space on a small malfunction. Five point eight percent of space missions have failed. When missions fail, it is often due to crash landings. Since Mars is so far away, and no one has ever been there before, the chances of failure are increased. The Mars One mission is very dangerous, therefore scientists should not try to send humans to
Pressure is very low, but the Mars , here have enough pressure to make liquid water, to ensure that the microbes survived. Overall research scientists assess Mars temperature and pressure conditions of Mars do not have have suitable conditions of existence than the earth. Recently, scientist overall research assessment Mars temperature and pressure conditions found no conditions suitable for life on Mars and earth at the Australlian national university, according to researchers from the kernel to top the atmosphere of the area, three percent of the region of Mars can maintain life, but only one percent of the earth region can support
Last but not least, unlike Earth, Mars does not have a magnetosphere, like a forcefield around Earth that helps protect us from harsh elements of “space weather”. Nasa studies agree that Mars is exposed to solar flares and cosmic rays. Scientists aren’t sure why, but Mars’ internal magnetic Dynamo turned off about 4 billion years ago. After that, the solar wind slowly eroded or worn away the Martian atmosphere until today, it is estimated less than 1% as thick as
Do you enjoy freezing temperatures? How does -148oF sound? Maybe a maximum of 32oF? If you do, welcome to Mars! You will get hypothermia if you’re not careful. If only the people who want to live on Mars would understand, Mars is a genocide waiting to happen.
There has been a lot of talk about mars. Out of all the potential options, most have settled that mars is the best for humans. The enthused Frank Stratford, in an article, says, “let’s do this thing…Let’s approach this with the benefits of six decades of spaceflight, push through the costs and in one risky megaproject of settling Mars, reach to the benefits of advancing… so that we and future generations can grow from our new discoveries on Mars.” Indeed, Despite inherent risk, colonizing mars is both a priority and a goal for the advancement of our species.
The last reason why you shouldn’t go on this trip to Mars is because finding ways to live there would be difficult. First of all, work will have to be done in order to find water. When water is needed, you would have to break up the soil. Being able to expand will also be limited due to the amount of water and oxygen that is on Mars. Lastly, the environment is very unforgiving. If a small mistake is made in the atmosphere, you could easily become injured or possibly die. The Mars One website says, “Mars is an unforgiving environment where a small mistake or accident can result in large failure, injury, and
