Imagine going on a six billion dollar rocket ship and never seeing your family or friends again. The astronauts will risk their lives because it is a dangerous expedition and could easily fail if the people die from lack of oxygen. Colonizing Mars is a terrible idea there is no natural source of water, if Mars One sends them they cannot come back once they arrive there, and someone could get sick and die before they get there. The people that go to mars are risking their lives they can die of many things, including lack of oxygen and sickness. There is no atmosphere on Mars so therefore there is no oxygen which all humans need. The people will try to make an atmosphere by planting plants which let off oxygen, which could easily fail. The trip is about eight months long and there is no natural source of water on Mars. There could be a disease on Mars that’s not on Earth and if someone gets it there are no doctors or medicine on Mars. One of the people could get hurt, for example, someone can receive a huge cut and die from loss of blood since there are no doctors on Mars. No one knows what will happen if you get a cut on mars the dust could infect the cut. Therefore people should not go to mars if they don’t know how dangerous it is. The astronauts that go might get dehydrated from not having a natural source of water. They could extract water from the ground, but the water could have harmful chemicals mars one says “ they will store 1500 liters of water in each life support unit”. The participants will have to live on what they brought with them. The mission to Mars is already estimated to cost 6 billion dollars. They would have to bring their own food and water. To conclude people may die from the lack of supplies.
In conclusion, colonizing Mars is a terrible idea There is no known natural source of water, Once you get there you cannot come back , and If you get sick, the astronauts can die since there since no doctors or medicine. Above all it is a really dangerous place to live at and could be a life changing experience to colonize
If I were to move to Mars I would want to live life how I was living it on Earth. I wouldn’t want to be trapped inside the rest of my life on Mars. Mars is a very dangerous place
Richard, an author for the website GOVTEEN Global Community, wrote an article briefly explaining why we as a nation, should not go to Mars. Some of the key points of his argument against going to Mars stressed that the financial cost would be too high, it would require several new spacecraft and ground habitats, and several new technologies that currently do not exist. He also was concerned about the budget cuts that have already stripped the National Aeronautical Space Administration (NASA) to a shell of what the space program used to be. He also stressed that we are still in an armed conflict that has put a strain on our nation, economically and emotionally.
Jennifer L. Holm used scientific information in her story “Follow The Water” which explains the many risks like radiation, lack of fresh water, food, oxygen, and gravity to live on Mars.
Ed Regis, in the article "let's Not Move to Mars" states: "crews members are in microgravity for the entire trip, with consequent health problems: your bone mass wastes away" (Regis). Additionally crew members will face mental illnesses. Ed Regis also in "Let's Not Move to Mars" states, " Persistent mechanical noises and vibrations, sleep disturbances, unbearable tedium, trance states, depression, monotonous repetition of meals, clothing, routines, conversations and so on" (Regis). Sending people to Mars would turn them mad before they even got there and would be useless.
The first reason that adults won’t go to Mars is that their are some high risks of death. For example, The chances are that they’ll crash when people go to Mars because their atmosphere is way more dense than Earth’s atmosphere. It’ll also be LOT more harder to land a ship on Mars than on Earth because the Mar’s atmosphere can’t slow down the ship, according to Popular Science website. Another risk is that people need to face is the coldness of Mars temperature, people will die from freezing to death on Mars since Mars is much farther away from the sun and the storms that it has. An wesite Popular Science claims that the weather on Mars isn’t suitable for humans to live in. The Temperature on Mars is under -81o F! That means every time a grown up go outside they need to wear a spacesuit and battle the coldness of Mar’s cold weather.
There are many potential dangers with the Mars One Mission. Mars can be a very dangerous and scary place to live. The trip to Mars One is dangerous. Going to mars would not be a good idea in 2023 because there will not be any oxygen, no food is grown there at this time, and one could be exposed to dangers outside.
Why should humans colonize Mars? Humans should colonize Mars for their own well being. If humans want their future offsprings to be alive and well throughout the years then they need to find out how to colonize Mars and they need
If the sun dies, humans are going to need another planet to relocate to. Mars is one other option, however with all the possible factors the risk may be too great. According to a journal called Scientific Reports, they have "found that even six months after returning to earth mars astronauts would experience brain inflammation and neuronal damage". Even though Mars is similar to earth and the planet is capable of holding life, the health risk for our species is too large. Humans would be exposed to radiation which would lead to neuron damage, memory issues, anxiety, and depression problems. With humans contracting so many problems, would people even want to risk their lives and health for the trip? The increase of solar radiation poses a hazard
Humanity shouldn’t pursue exploration of Mars because we have more pressing issues like conflicts over the world (WW3). Money can be spent on other programs and or research that can be useful today instead of exploring Mars. Also, if they did explore Mars the exploration could bring back a deadly disease that no one can cure.
Added to the economic costs to America, a venture to Mars causes substantial risk to the society. The environment and society are very important to human survival on Earth. Even though some people feel that exploring Mars may help understand the Earth better, and going to Mars will be a great scientific milestone, in my opinion exploring Mars is a bad idea. The atmosphere on Mars is about 100 times thinner than earth and it is not suitable for us to breath. It contains about 95% of carbon dioxide and little or no oxygen. This will make it very difficult for humans to survive there. Unlike Mars, which is not protected and is exposed to everything, the Earth is protected by the ozone layer. Exploring Mars will be dangerous to humans and very expensive to taxpayers. This will take years of planning and the mission will take years instead of days. The astronauts who go there may run out of oxygen and even fall sick. They will be unable to just return at any time. They have to wait until the earth aligns with Mars before they can return. All this could take months or even
First, we should not go to Mars because there is a high risk of traveling from Earth to Mars. Your risk of a violent or even terrifying death is an accurate possibility while traveling to Mars. During the space launch, it is said that you will be strapped on top of a massive rock that can explode. During the flight, it is possible that you can change direction and hurtle into deep space or even the sun. Lastly, landing on Mars can be difficult; it is possible that you can go crash landing on to Mars without surviving.
A manned Mars mission would be incredibly dangerous. The trip is expected to be a one-way expedition. It will take six months to land on Mars and another six to come back, and the astronauts are
By going to mars you could have nerve damage, getting blind and dementia, 16% of the loss of bone density, 40% muscle density not work. All these symptoms are a cause of getting people to travel to mars and that is something that we need to prevent from happening and until it is safe to travel, but right now it’s a no to going to mars. Sending robots are less dangerous than sending a human there is less risk because a robot is easier to feed, they are much easier to shield from radiation and could do things that a human could do. A robot is less cost for just sending one and a one-way trip and they don’t have to sleep only to recharge but is way easier than having a human in outer space than a
Imagine being able to walk on a new planet no one has ever stepped on before, and explore it. Mars has water and life. If something ever happened to Earth humans would move to Mars. It’s by far the most livable planet other than Earth. Mars should be colonized because if anything happened to Earth, humans could live on Mars. Mars also has the supplies we need, like water, humans just have to purify it. And it’s the most livable planet other than Earth.
From the article "Let's Not Move to Mars" by Ed Regis, published by the New York Times on September 21, 2015 states, "As with any cutting-edge technology, there will be continuous threats of equipment failures.."(Regis ). Although NASA thinks that humans already have advanced technology, but it does not mean there will not be any difficulties that can lead to injuries or fatalities toward humans. Furthermore, with the lack of technology, another reason why we should not send humans to Mars would be the amount of money it would take to build a space craft. From the article "why we can't send humans to Mars yet" by Adam Mann states, "humans can't properly store the necessary fuel long enough for a Mars trip, we don't yet have a vehicle capable of landing people on the Martian surface" (Mann). NASA does not yet have the amount of resources and the money to build a space craft that will certainly send humans safely to Mars.
