You are in the middle of the sea. You are looking for food, but can’t find any when a great white shark swims past you. You are starving so you can’t help it and start swimming after the great white shark. You know that you are bigger but the great white shark is feisty and furios. You need to get food otherwise you die from hunger. You see the shark stop swimming and that is when you see the shark turn around and watch it stare in your eyes. You want to attack but you are waiting for the great white shark to attack first. You know it is going to be a hard and tough fight, but you need the food. The killer whale has size, intelligence, and speed whether you believe it or not. For those reasons that is why the killer whale will be champion and …show more content…
This might be surprising because the great white is smaller it will have more speed. Wrong, the killer whale can swim up to 30 mph. That is really fast for how big the killer whale is and how much it weighs. The great white shark can only swim up to 20 mph. That is 10 mph less than the great white shark. Speed can really change a battle. The killer whale can escape easily when he needs too. Also since the great white shark is slow when it tries to escape it can’t because the killer whale can swim up to him and catch the great white shark. As you can see the great white shark has an advantage in speed. That is my second reason why I think that the killer whale will …show more content…
The killer whale is so intelligent that it’s brain is 3 times humans size of their brain. Humans are pretty smart. Whereas the great white shark's brain is shaped as a Y and is tinny. It is not very intelligent and can not make decisions as quick as the killer whale. The killer whale can make decisions faster than the great white shark and can escape danger quicker, and realize more things quicker. The intelligence will help a lot in a fight between the great white shark and the killer whale. Obviously the killer whale has the advantage. That is why I think that the killer whale will defeat the great white shark if they had a battle in the middle of the
A great white shark ways around 1410 pound more than a polar bear when they are at their heaviest weights. A great white weighs around 2400 at it’s heaviest weight. A polar bear only weighs around 990 at it’s heaviest weight. That is why I think a great white will win weight wise.
The Great White Shark is the top predator of the ocean, meaning that it is not hunted by other animals in the waters. The Great White has been listed as an endangered species due to the over hunting of them for shark teeth and there fins.
The 2013 Documentary Blackfish directed by Gabriela Cowparthwaite brings us the story of Sea World, Orcas or also known as “Killer Whales”, and the death of Dawn Brancheau who was a the senior trainer at Sea World. The documentary presents many emotional feelings us humans have toward these Orcas, everything from from love to anxiety to fear to wonder. In the wild Orcas are viewed as beautiful, majestic and charismatic beasts that have never harmed a human being, but in captivity Orcas have the persona of vicious killers. Blackfish raises question about these intelligent animals, do Orcas kill because they are in captivity? Do Orcas finally lose patience’s with its trainers and react to end the nonsense humans have forced upon them?
Sharks are a fundamental aspect of Australian waters, but shark culling has rapidly decreased the numbers over the past few years. The government definitely should not adopt a policy on shark culling, as sharks are the cornerstone to the contribution of social, environmental, economic and political aspects of our nation. If governments adopt this policy on shark culling, it will undoubtedly have a deliberate impact on the food chain. Additionally, even killing small numbers of already-threatened sharks will rapidly increase extinction risks of sharks. To conclude, humans contribute to the killing of more deaths than the opposite action done from sharks.
Firstly, recording to Kirby “This documentary really targets the negative effects that happen to killer whales when they are taken into captivity”. Whales or rather killer whales when they are placed in captivity experience great deals of hyper aggression making them to be aggressive all the time. Moreover, this aggression not only threatens humans but marine life as well. For instance, there are many studies showed that when people harm
Occasionally the whales will fight with each other due to stress, but since they are in such a small enclosure they have nowhere to go to get away from each other like they would in the wild. Many orcas that are held in captivity have problems with their teeth and they have to have their teeth drilled. “All captive adult male orcas have collapsed dorsal fins, likely because they have no space in which to swim freely and are fed an unnatural diet of thawed dead fish”(8 Reasons). Some killer whales also develop infections and the whales are not healthy because they are not fed a healthy diet like they would eat in the ocean.

Have you ever thought of a shark being gentle? The whale shark is known as a “gentle giant” because they do not attack humans, it would be very uncommon. Scientists still have not discovered many others, as they may say. The whale shark has many very cool characteristics that help them live their life.
Picture the beach, the golden sand and aqua water, the warm bright sun in the background, Imagine what is under the water, the aqua clear waters and the little fishes, but instead the ocean is full of nets capturing these harmless sharks. This is redicious to capture and kill these native Australian sharks. Shark culling has become the new issue for Australian media. Shark culling is not the answer for safer oceans.
Despite having “whale in its name, the false killer whale is actually a large dolphin like its namesake “the killer whale”. The difference between a “whale” and a “dolphin” is much like the difference between a “ship” and a “boat”. It has more to do with size than science. In fact, false killer whales are large dolphins.
Strategy is not easily defined and furthermore the term is not exclusively related to just the business world. We can confidently say strategy is key to survival, not only in business but also in the animal kingdom. All animals under go a process of constant change in their physical appearance and in their behaviour. These changes take place over millions of years and the species that survive, do so because throughout their evolution they have perfected certain strategies that have enabled them to develop more successfully in the environment they inhabit. One such case of this successful development is the great hammerhead shark.
The dorsal fin is triangular, and has been know to grow in excess of 6 feet in length on males, but grow no more than 3 feet on females. (Martin) The pectoral fins of the orca can measure up to one sixth of it’s body length and is in the shape of a paddle. The orca usually have 40-50 conical teeth which measure over 2 inches in length, and has a perfect fit with the opposite set which makes it an excellent hunter. Although the teeth are robust, they do a lot of work through the years because older orcas have been known to have teeth worn down to the gum tissue (Haley.) The tongue of a killer whale has been known to weigh in excess of 2 tons (Martin.) They have been known to be fearless hunter, and a fast predator. Some say the ferocity of the killer whale exceeds that of the great white shark, which makes it one of the most feared in ocean life.
The Orcinus Orca, also known as the killer whale, is one of the world’s most dominant predators. Because of their sharp senses like their keen hearing and sight, they are one of the most astute marine animals. Orcas are largest of the dolphin family and can be found in all oceans of the world; most commonly found in the Arctic and Antarctic oceans, and often spotted off the west coast of the United States and Canada. Being at the top of the food chain, killer whales only have one predator. Other than hunters, pollution and chemical contamination can be very harmful to the whales causing them to get diseases. Pollution and chemical contamination also cause the orcas to have reproductive difficulties.
Normally when the word shark is heard a picture of only one comes to mind. The Great White Shark which is widely known, due to the portrayal of their aggressive behavior in the “Jaws” movie series. But in actuality, Mako Sharks are a more skilled predator. Although Mako Sharks and Great White Sharks are both similar, there are a plethora of differences in speed, diet, and size.
The great white shark has two types of muscles-red and white. Red muscle is aerobic; thus, it needs oxygen to function. This muscle contains myoglobin. The main function of the red muscles is used just for swimming. The white muscle is anaerobic-doesn’t need oxygen. White muscles primarily function for sudden bursts of speed when
