This is a question that is commonly brought up when debating whether Crispus Attucks should be considered a hero or a disruptor. Crispus Attucks played an important role in events leading up to the American Revolution and because of his courageous acts at these events, Crispus Attucks should be viewed as a hero. To begin, Crispus Attucks was the first African American to die at the Boston Massacre. He was the one that initiated the confrontation and with this courage Attucks began his story as a hero.

When you see yourself living out your dream, the thought of what you're most passionate about pulls you in. Passions in one's life change based on what had affected that person. Dreams are defined to change. However, the benefits of these thoughts is that they belong to you and only you. Not one person's opinions matter but your own. Chris McCandless simply was living out his own ideal life, the way he wanted; not to the idea of his parents, his friends or of society. McCandless wanted to escape society and civilization which he felt was tying him down, while also trying to discover himself. McCandless is not by any means a wacko. He was simply defying society and its ideal expectation it holds upon us as a whole.

As a child, William Cullen Bryant would find a deep interest in writing. Bryant was very intelligent for how young he was. Bryant was supported to be better at a young age because of his brother Austin, his father Peter, and his grandfather.

In the world John Greenleaf Whittier was average height but his writings would make you believe he was gigantic because of his craft. Whittier was considered one of the most intelligent writers of the twentieth century. By challenging the minds of his readers and creating new settings for stories, he changed the art of literature in the twentieth century. Whittier's importance in only a decade was more dramatic than writers in that century. While living a farm life, Whittier let his life challenge his mind and put his creative thoughts on paper.

Therefore, for America to become what America should be the white community should break down the barrier their ancestors built, saying black people did not deserve greatness. James Baldwin envisioned a life where black and white people could become and live the same life as each other. He would no longer feel afraid to step outside and be harassed by those who are supposed to protect. Not only was being black a severe problem for Baldwin, but also realizing that he was gay which consequently led him to fear for his life even more. America is a country that allows those who live there to express and live the life they were given, but when there are people out there who try to break them down it becomes a struggle.

Samuel Langhore Clemons had very unique experiences starting early in life. His childhood was not the easiest; he was not properly educated and death surrounded him. He also had to begin working at age twelve. This would all carve out his path to becoming one of the best writers of his generation.
