The reasons I should be allowed into the National Honor Society are because of my selfless character, my outstanding leadership, the background that I have in service, and my exemplary effort in academics. Addressing the first reason, character, I believe that there are a number of traits that show good character, and many of these are shown through activities such as sports, band, or anything that encourages working as a team towards a common goal. The activities that I am involved in includes a number of sports, such as soccer, cross country, basketball, and track. However, character is not limited to sports, and is shown in other ways as well. For me, the most significant of these activities is band. Each of these events that I have named I’ve been involved for years, and I feel that each of these teaches character through responsibility, respect, diligence, integrity, and team building skills to name a few traits. In addition to character, I have also had many chances to show my skills in leadership. As a freshman I was a representative for the class congress and was able to participate in …show more content…

During my time at St. Louis High School I have been involved in band. Over the course of this time, a couple of band members and myself were able to take part in the fifth annual district solo and ensemble, in which I and four other band members performed and were evaluated on our performances by a judge. Afterwards, we were given a rating of one to five, one being the best and five being the worst. Our group was given a one based on our

Opening yourself up to strangers or being open to getting on different levels of understanding with different types of people can be difficult for some, however, it has always been my forte. I began my high school academic career at Burrell. The transition from Mary Queen of Apostles School to Burrell High School was a traumatic adjustment to the quantity of my classmates. I had been traumatized at first because I had gone from knowing every person in my small school to not knowing anything or anyone in Burrell. I surprisingly
I want to preface this by saying thank you for taking the time to considering me as a member of your organization, it is truly an honor. Throughout my life I have developed a drive for excellence in everything I do. I believe that when it comes to homework and projects you should only consider yourself finished when you are satisfied with the work you have done. This drive for excellence took full force after I had joined Civil Air Patrol (CAP). There they not only taught me how rewarding doing your best can be, but they taught me leadership skills and the benefit of stepping out of my comfort zone.
Some of the reasons I believe I should be selected for induction into the National Honor Society are, I am a hard and experienced worker, I am a very open minded and accepting person, and I have a lot of motivation to do well in whatever I put my mind to. Many of these traits I possess, I believe, allow me to react to situations in positive ways. To start, I am a hard and experienced worker, over the past few years I have volunteering in the Downtown Los Angeles area and rural parts of Jamaica. In both of these places I have assisted people who are unable to obtain proper medical care or improper or subpar sheltering. I have gone to schools and helped hand out toiletries and school supplies to kids who are not fortunate enough to have these

First, I would like to be in National Honors Society because I want to help my community and school. I love to volunteer in my community. Over the past summer I did a program called Summer in the City. During this program I would help paint buildings, help plant a garden, and help play with kids in a camp in Detroit. My favorite part was playing with the kids. It made me feel good to see them smile. I also volunteered at the snowman shuffle race put together by berkley. I put together the concession stand after the race. I loved being able to help others put things together. I enjoy helping my community.
The National Honor Society would benefit from my membership because I am a hard working student who is also dual enrolled. When I join a program, I am committed to staying in it and grow, as a person. I have been in the same club my entire high school career. I have done extensive amounts of community service within a school club and also within the school classrooms. I have countless reasons to why I would be a beneficial addition to the National Honor Society.
I believe the most important requirement for gaining membership at National Honor Society would be a student’s personality and character. First of all, I learned to maintain a positive attitude even after my failures. I came to the United States as a freshman in 2010. At that time, I really had hard time learning English and I didn’t do well on my exams. But I didn’t give up easily. Instead, I put more efforts on my weakness and I overcame the difficulty I had. Secondly, I learned how to take care of myself and how to initiate new relationship with others, as well as how to adjust myself in new environments. That is why I make a lot of friends in my community. I am also an enthusiastic person who would like to help and motive other students. I think I can be a good role model for other younger students.
It is an honor to be chosen as a candidate for membership in the National Honor Society. Academics, leadership skills, service abilities, and character are four principal parts of a superior student. I believe that I am inclusive of all these aspects needed to become a part of this prestigious group. Becoming a member of this organization is important to me, because it will help me get into an excellent college and push me to work harder in school.
I think that in order to demonstrate outstanding character, one must try to do their best and strive endlessly to make their goals and aspirations. A time when I demonstrated outstanding character was during my time as President of Model United Nations my Junior year of high school. Although I've been President for three years now, that year marked my hiatus as a President since with my leadership and guidance we won a Conference. I felt successful in winning a Model UN Conference as well as qualifying for State Varsity Congressional Congress in Speech and Debate. As President of a Delegation, I had taken the roles of both an educator, accountant, and event coordinator while managing to be a student as the same time. Essentially, what had caused
The reason that I am interested in becoming a member of the National Honor Society is because the National Honor Society represents all of the values that I find most important in my education and life. So far, I have taken three classes for college credit and plan to take multiple more during my senior year. Through the course of my high school education, I have realized how important it is for an individual to develop and maintain these studious habits. All of the habits I have developed through becoming an excellent
