This will overall facilitate access to communication between human and machines. Additionally, it would improve the responsiveness of independent systems or other autonomous devices dedicated to home, office or school.
The world of universal, uninterrupted access to information, entertainment and communication will open new dimension to our lives and change our life style significantly [2].
This paper is organized as follows: Section II will discuss the evolution of mobile wireless networks, Section III will introduce objectives of the 5G mobile network, Section IV will talk about goals to be evaluated in 5G wireless network communications, and Section V will present some concluding remarks.
II. Evolution of mobile wireless networks
In the recent years, wireless technologies have taken a new dimension in the ways society lives. Wireless broadband is available to everyone. Whether the users are at home, driving the car, sitting in the park, and it would even work while people are a pleasure boat ride in the middle of a lake. And because of this, the need to have information at any time and be connected in all places, all the time has been satisfied.
In terms of architecture, it has been very challenging to provide platform, and ability to render service with high availability from the providers of the first generation (1G) networks to 4G
Against this backdrop, Sprint has made significant changes in the last 2 years to embark on a turnaround plan of epic importance to its future. The industry is preparing for another major technology upgrade to 5th Generation (5G) which will bring about even faster data speeds, greater coverage, and an exponential expansion of the Internet to many more devices beyond just
The wireless mobile industry is still a growing industry, with revenues continuing to increase over the next few years. Wind Mobile’s unlimited plans have also contributed to the increase per subscriber usage of wireless. Features and functionality redefined by new technology i.e. new
The evolution of 3G technologies and system into 4G evolution is driven by the development and creation of latest and upgraded services for the mobile devices, and is enabled by this similar advancement for the respective mobile systems. The development of LTE and LTE-Advanced technologies, with 'Advanced' specifying the only difference between LTE release 10 /LTE Advanced and ITU/IMT-Advanced. The work on developing these technologies- LTE and LTE Advanced is performed as an ongoing continuous task within the 3GPP, the same organization the developed the first 3G system namely WCDMA and HSPA.
In developing 5G, a lot of efforts have been made in three different areas: spectrum expansion, spectrum efficiency and network densification. In network densification, there made a large number of small cells. These small cells have small area of coverage. Due to the deployment of small cells, there is an increase in complexity. Due to this , a network operator has to face many problems:
data from the device to the network, and back again with 5G that communication path that will allow
5G networks will deliver more richer content in real time ensuring the safety and security that will make the wireless services more extensive in our everyday life. Some example of emerging services may include high resolution video streaming (4K), media rich social network services, augmented reality, and road safety [6]. According to Cisco mobile data traffic forecast,
Telecommunication technologies have evolved rapidly over the past decades, a situation which led to the arrival of the 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) to provide faster data speed better than the legacy 3G EVDO data technology. Certainly, LTE has been of great benefit to both individuals and corporations across the globe. However, operators are often faced with challenges such us Capacity constraints, slow throughput due to increased numbers of usage, interference from other wireless equipment, as well as poor coverage issues.
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are two branches of the same tree. They only differ in the way they are used. Bluetooth is used to transfer data between devices, which are placed near to each other, without the use of cables. Terminology of Wi-Fi is quite the same but the range of distance between the devices could be quite large. A typical Wi-Fi network that is being used in a household could have a range of 200m but a Wi-Fi network that is being used by a business firm could transfer data in several kilometers.
The purpose of the paper is to focus on the development of wireless mobile telecommunication. Firstly, cellular network technology is introduced to understand the basis of wireless mobile telecommunication. And then the history evolvement of mobile telephone systems is investigated to help know the background of fourth-generation wireless communication (4G). Finally, the standard of 4G, different categories, the spread spectrum radio technologies as well as potential benefits and problems that come with it are discussed. Especially, LTE standard is further explained, including FDD-LTE, TDD-LTE and LTE advanced.
The emerging concept of mobile edge-clouds equips cellular network entities (such as basestations) with servers, so that users can run cloud services with significantly lower latency [2]. The introduction of femtocells allows users to buy their own cellular network devices based on their needs, thereby reducing the operators’ expenditure and improving the network coverage [3]. All these trends point to the same direction. That is, in the future, there will be more businesses operating on a single networked platform, and the interactions between them will become increasingly complex. The tradition that does not change however is that, due to physical limitations, the amount of resources (such as communication bandwidth, computational capability of servers, electricity, etc.) in the system remains limited.
The 5G mobile systems will bring a revolution in the way people communicate. This study will examine whether the global community has the capabilities to develop and deploy the 5G mobile systems. Arguably, the success of 5G mobile systems will highly depend on its ability to promote bandwidth efficiency, which is an issue with the past generations of telecommunication networks. To achieve this, there is a need to develop efficient networks. In addition, standardization is needed to provide an avenue for different types of devices to interact without any conflict. Furthermore, the study identifies interoperability as a challenge that undermines the effort of researchers, scholars and technology analysts to deploy 5G mobile systems. In this case, there is a need to provide an avenue for different networks as well as devices to communicate and share data. Finally, the study highlights information security as an issue that will constantly arise. However, based on the past research and study finding, the global community can deal with threats of cybercrime irrespective of its evolving nature. Importantly, the study concludes that the global community can build and deploy 5G mobile systems successfully.
In these modern times when communication has become a fundamental tool for progress and advancement on many terms, it is already considered an imperative for many companies and businesses to improve their communication and information technology. The advent of new technologies and the introduction of newer softwares and tools necessary for survival in the tough and competitive market make it possible for many businesses and companies to reach their employees, other partner markets or businesses and even their customers while on the move. This is the gift of wireless devices and applications technology.
5G aims at building hybrid networks utilizing both the Wireless LAN concept and WAN design. Thus, the world would have base stations everywhere providing ubiquitous network coverage to users at high speed. For example, a user walking on road is browsing internet using GPRS (General Packet Radio Service-WAN design). The moment he enters a mall with Wi-Fi (LAN design), seamless hand-over from GPRS to Wi-Fi would take place without the user’s
Abstract— 5G Technology stands for fifth Generation Mobile technology. From generation 1G to 2.5G and from 3G to 5G this world of telecommunication has seen a number of improvements along with improved performance with every passing day. This fast revolution in mobile computing changes our day to day life that is way we work, interact, learn etc. This paper also focuses on all preceding generations of mobile communication along with fifth generation technology. Fifth generation network provide affordable broadband wireless connectivity (very high speed). The paper throws light on network architecture of fifth generation technology. Currently 5G term is not officially used. In fifth generation researches are being made on development of World Wide Wireless Web (WWWW), Dynamic Adhoc Wireless Networks (DAWN) and Real Wireless World. Fifth generation focus on (Voice over IP) VOIP-enabled devices that user will experience a high level of call volume and data transmission. Fifth generation technology will fulfill all the requirements of customers who always want advanced features in cellular phones. The main features in 5G mobile network is that user can simultaneously connect to the multiple wireless technologies and can switch between them. This forthcoming mobile technology will support IPv6 and flat IP. Fifth generation technology will offer the services like Documentation, supporting electronic transactions (e-Payments, e-transactions) etc.
challenge in a wireless system design is to overcome the eects of the wireless
