I have grown as a global citizen in the area of investigating the world. In my Junior year I am trying to retake any classes I did not pass the first time I took them. Doing so I am having to retake english 10A this semester we have read about write for rights cases. In the process of this project we have had to chose 3 cases and write why we are interested in them. The teacher then chose which you will write to (which you can relate to the most). My class and I then researched about our different topics. When we were done we presented to the class what we had found out about our topic and what are topic was about. We later started to write our letters to the location on the write for rights article sheet. Our letters consisted of our view
English class has never been my strong suite. I always had to work twice as hard in English then I did in any other class. Writing paper always had me stressed and overwhelmed, I felt discouraged in my work. l never seemed to be able to get to the level I wanted to. I would try my hardest and paid attention in class, but when it came to writing the paper none of that seemed to help. I think that my experience in English Composition 1 has helped gain and grow in some areas, but I don’t think that it highlights a well-written college essay. Some elements that I worked to improving was introduction paragraphs, tone, style, and thesis statements.
This semester in English 102 has been the most my writing has ever grown from one class. I have learned a lot different things about styles of writing and different types of essays. I liked how the class was based on a lot of “Why?” questions that really made you think. That made for a very interesting class each day.
As a new immigrant, I took the accuplacer test and went straight to 111 English level. So, English 111 course became my first college English class. It seems like a great achievement for a French speaker. Nonetheless, this performance linked to significant challenges. Even though I am a fighter and an optimist, I was frightened about my academic achievement for this semester. The problems became bigger when I took my first practice test on sentence structure (fragments and run-ons) and got a D. I was frightened and felt that I will have to drop the class. However, I decided not to give up. I started working hard and had a V+ on the next test. This positive grade energized me until now. During this semester, I have much homework and practices which allow me to identify some strengths, weaknesses, and gave me lots of skills for my English 112 class and the future.
In this assignment I address the pivotal moment in my development as a writer and how this event is changing me. I reflected on college English class at Azusa Pacific University that I am currently taking. Initially In this essay I will be discussing my driver for this class and explore how English course is a fundamental skill in my nursing career.
In a span of five weeks, one can learn an immense amount of information. My experience in English 1301 has already taught me many different things. Coming into this class, I expected to discover many new concepts that I had yet to learn while also incorporating some past knowledge that I had already obtained. I have discovered things that I didn’t know at all, things that I don’t know how to do but expect to learn, and things that I know how to do but need to perfect.

Time goes so fast and the quarter comes to an end soon. Writing 39A, as my first formal university writing courses, has helped me to acquire many skills needed to become better as a writer and a reader in college and for my future. During the ten weeks, the development of professionalism and effectiveness of my writing makes my writing become closer to the college writing standard and make me feel more confident about my writing. This portfolio is a collection of the whole written works I completed in Writing 39A, which support my definite comprehension of the course and show the improvement I made. It does not only show people how I have progressed as a writer but also demonstrates what I have learned about myself as a writer in this quarter.
7A) I have always taken a proactive approach by applying effective leadership, managerial, and organizational skills to achieve continuous success which was demonstrated in my $90 million I-15 design sequencing projects (2004 to 2008), where I have continuously received favorable ratings for administering and implementing BMPs that comply with the NPDES permit and the best compliance record in D11 for conducting labor relation interviews. My leadership and commitment to quality improvements resulted in my $10 million major maintenance project being rated the best quality dowel bar retrofit in the State in year 2003 to 2004. In the years 2000 to 2003: led, managed, and directed a staff of 10 engineers to perform multiple tasks simultaneously to complete work on $20 million six concurrent
Completing the essay for Unit III will be somewhat of a task now there are requirements to meet, however I complied all the notes to make this first essay successful, now it is time to put it all together. The thought of writing the essay which needs to contain 750- 1000 words brings on anxiety, compared to the smaller journal at this point of the course. Although, the feeling I get from completing any writing assignment makes me feel a great deal of accomplishment. So I’m sure by the end of this course I will be ready for English Composition II. It has always been my nature to
Parts of Standard 3 poses difficulty in my program. Especially difficult is 3.2 : Access to Information. There is no collection in my district other than individual small classroom sets. I have advocated for more digital and trade boook resources and have been told that for now, the middle and high school will take precedence. I am in the process of investigating grant opportunities and and hopeful that ESSA will trickle down to my program. It is very disheartening to know that kids who need free access to quality literature at school are not able to receive it.
Before starting this course, I believed I had a good grasp on the rules of the English language, grammar and how to write in a formal manner. However, after submitting a sample piece of my writing to a number of websites that check for grammatical errors and receiving feedback and analysis from these websites, I have realised that there are a number of areas that require work in order for me to write in a formal manner. Whilst most of the reports gave good feedback, Writers Diet (www.writersdiet.com.WT/php) stated the use of nominalisation, while Polish My Writing (www.polishmywriting.com) identified the over use of redundant words within my writing.
On Wednesday 15th June, 2016, I had the opportunity to attend the Doctoral Colloquium at the Barry University .It was a day event for Nursing DNP and PhD students it provided me a forum to meet, greet and share research ideas, explore each other individual scholarly identities, and think about ways to chart a path for our academic careers. It was an interactive day which was led By Dr. Teddie M. Potter, and the event was well planned by Chair Dr. Jessie M. Colin and the Nursing team at Barry University.
English 101 has been such an adventure. I know that sounds corny, but I just couldn’t help myself. When I decided to do a short-term English class, I thought it would be fun and challenging; My expectations were correct. As I write this reflection, I look back on the topics and assignments that existed in this short period of time from post 1 to the multi-modal project. I will list the challenges I experienced which creating the creative project, what I learned from the beginning of class to the end, and what I need to work on in the future. This English adventure started on post 1 and 2 and ended at the multi-modal project.
Publics in Africa and in predominantly Muslim countries remain among the least accepting of homosexuality. In sub-Saharan Africa, at least nine-in-ten in Nigeria (98%), Senegal (96%), Ghana (96%), Uganda (96%) and Kenya (90%) believe homosexuality should not be accepted by society. Even in South Africa where, unlike in many other African countries, homosexual acts are legal and discrimination based on sexual orientation is unconstitutional, 61% say homosexuality should not be accepted by society, while just 32% say it should be accepted.
I believe I have an adequate amount of maths skills and understandings that will be expanded on and improved throughout the course of this unit, to assist in everyday life, and to be able to teach it to primary school aged children. I have learnt all the basics of maths and can retract most from my memory when I need to, which is evident in the Maths Competency Test (MCT) score. I have the basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division skills which do help me with percentages, averages and general everyday maths. The highest level of maths I completed was Unit 3AB in year 12 in 2014, and so I feel as though I knew most of the content we had covered that was outlined in the Unit 3AB Mathematics (A.J. Sadler, 2008) book, which realistically was two levels higher than the Year 9/10 questions we were given.
