The Trump Doctrine: “ We Want Deal
As young adults we are all aware of the camping’s that has been occurring through out the past few months. One of those participants happens to be Donald Trump, who follows the theory of CONFLICT. This theory describes how power from individuals is self-proclaimed. Trump is well known for the many assumptions he has made toward immigrants, primarily Hispanics and Asians. His view on these racial groups demonstrates his consideration toward social life and how it is a competition.
Conflict theory is broken down into two main ideas, this particular article covered the theory that do to there culture/race Trump is forcing them to see the errors of there way. When holding a press in Dubuque on Tuesday, August 28,2015, Trump refused to answer a question from reporter Jorge Ramos and stated for him to “Go back to univision,” this has caused a lot of riot from Hispanics. Following this incident, Trump also stated, “ Asians are taking advantage of America,” he automatically wants to shame races that are not American. Receiving high appreciation from members of the KKK, an organization that favors whites and is racist against other racial groups. This shows that Trumps main supporters consist of racial groups who are white and anti-immigrants

By reading this article I came to the conclusion that very opinionated individuals who passed their beliefs surrounded Trump from an early age. Like James mentality “ if it works, its true,” Trump accepted that the less immigrants that surrounded him the better it would be for him. His adaption into this mentality is the result of his hatred toward different
Trump has put into his campaign. He has brought Islamophobia to a whole new level feeding off of our citizens fear of another terrorist attack on American soil. Trump stated that America needs “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.” He defended this statement by saying those who believe in Jihad pose a threat to our nation (Chavez, Paola). His comments about Muslims has stirred communities to fear their Islam practicing neighbors without a legitimate reason. Trump has caused much of society to belittle the African American race with his uneducated rhetoric. Trump has stated, “There’s no such thing as racism anymore. We’ve had a black president so it’s not a question anymore. Are they saying black lives should matter more than white lives or Asian lives? If black lives matter, then go back to Africa? We’ll see how much they matter.” However, we all know racism exists and always will, no matter how hard we try to rid it from our society. To attempt to gain the African American vote in a speech he says “You’re living in poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58% of your youth is unemployed -- what the hell do you have to lose?” Donald Trump obviously as no issue talking badly of minority races especially Mexicans. Trump himself has labeled Mexican immigrants as criminals, rapist, and killers. His uneducated statement set off those of
The survey I found showed a common factor of bias towards immigrants that are not European descent. I wondered if Trump's attempts had any effect on his voters at all, and it turns out that it does. In the article I found, there were graphs and statistics that show Trump's supporters. The data in the article demonstrates that the majority of Trump's supporters are in the retirement age, which are also less educated. It also shows that his supporters are located in racial animus states. Another interesting correlation the article points out that the states Trump is favored in are also states where racially charged internet searches are most
On June 16, 2015, a long time television and real estate magnate by the name of Donald J. Trump opened his presidential campaign by uttering one of the most racially insensitive remarks in today’s time when he elucidated upon that notion that Mexican immigrants who come to America are not model citizens but rather rapists and murderers who undermine the legitimacy and economic fortitude of the American experiment. This racist and xenophobic remark illustrates just how entrenched the notion of white supremacy or as Walter Rodney would call it the “white cultural imperialism” ideology is inextricably tied to the understanding of our society today. Because of this problematic ideology, there must be some sort of opposition to fight against such
The “disturbances of collective order” (Durkheim 1915, 246) or norms with spikes in unemployment and increased competition in labor market could have resulted in what Durkheim referred to as anomic suicide. People’s lives have been greatly impacted and they are uncertain of the future in America. Trump argues that immigrants pose a competition in labor market and he promised to bring jobs back for American workers or the White working class. It’s harder for them to live with the decline of jobs because in the old economic order, White workers have greater opportunities for growth. When their expectation of themselves in the society is threatened, Trump’s promise
The passage analyzed in this independent study activity is a speech on immigration delivered by Donald J. Trump in Phoenix on August 31st, 2016. During his speech, Trump clearly asserted his hard-line approach to illegal immigration in United States.
“Trump is a symptom of the contemporary political climate in America that draws its origins from a number of factors. For one, the undercurrent of racism that has existed in this country since its inception. While it has been marginalized bit-by-bit over the past several decades, it’s clear that racial bigotry is still very much alive and widespread throughout the United States. This unfortunate subsection of the American populace became increasingly more vocal during the Obama presidency, while also gradually gaining some degree of mainstream acceptance via online forums and what we now call alt-right publications.
Why do trump want to send all immigrants back? Is It Because there all bad or is he just that hateful that he doesn't want anybody else to succeed. No one knows but im sure we all have theories or our educated guesses.
An example of conflict theory in today’s time would be that African Americans are being targeted by police, as a result, it causes protests, and brings up more violence towards the police authority. This caused blacks to still struggle for equal rights as same of whites, which is irregular to do so. Racial tensions do not only linger between African Americans and Whites but also many other races. Police brutality in America has doubled, African Americans and Latinos are more likely to get pulled over by a police officer than any other race while being racially attacked when doing so. Another conflict would be how stereotypes are giving to racial minorities, such as the 9/11 terrorist attack, which took a toll society to believe every Muslim is a terrorist. Even the race relations has taken an effect on the workplace, media, and education as well, that creates these problems that minorities have to overcome differently than the
(Berman). Hispanics aren’t the only that Trump has attacked, he believes that “he would consider requiring Muslim-Americans to register with a government database or carrying a special identification card,” (Obeidallah), which many have expressed that it mimics laws that the Nazis used against the Jews. While Trump hasn’t broken any law expressing his opinion about other races, he does express his ideas of deporting immigrants and building a wall to keep them out of the country and stereotyping every race. Trump proposed to “stop immigration from any nation that has been compromised
To clarify, why don’t we start a small introduction about this guy and his speeches about immigration. First of all, Trump is a candidate for president of the United States, which is in a high position to speak up for things that may be causing many problems in the USA. As a candidate, Trump must say what he is willing or going to do after becoming a president of the United Sates. Moreover, he says many things and there is a thing that we want to point it out as a main point of our research. Trump says,” We need to stop giving legal immigrant visas to people bent on causing us harm. From the 9/11 hijackers, to the Boston Bombers, and many others, our immigration system is being used to attack us”(Trump’s website). This quotation shows us how Trump feels about immigrants and their intention about coming to the USA. Which makes us think about the consequences later on. More importantly, trump’s ideas about immigration are unrealistic; this paints a negative image or reputation of all other immigration groups.
From the question of racial healing Trump strongly believes that law and order is the best solution to reduce crime. He believes that if we do not have law and order we will not have a country. Trump believes that African-Americans and Hispanics are living in hell since the streets are very dangerous. “You walk down the street, you get shot” are some of the words Trump said in the debate. Mr. Trump believes this is happening because their is many illegal immigrants that are members of gangs that are out in the streets. He also believes that taking away guns from people could be a good solution since many African-Americans are being killed. Trump firmly believes that African-Americans are let down by politicians and that we need to start a good relationship with time in order to improve the situation. Mr. Trump believes we need to be
In general, conflict theory is to explain the conflict between authority groups and powerless groups through the uneven distribution of power and resources in society (Lai, 2013). It is based entirely in power and how those in power do all they can to hold the majority of the population down and to keep them from gaining power, so as to secure their own position. Conflict theorists all assume that the existing social order is not a product of consensus and mutual benefit but rather a function of power differentials in society. These perspectives recognize that societal resources are limited and contend that opposing groups are in a constant struggle for a greater share of the resources and power that comes with them. As groups struggle to gain
Donald has started discriminating those who are not whites since he became a businessman, and his racism has become more over since the election. If you have followed his news for a long time, you might hear this before, ‘’ you’re living in poverty, your schools are not good. 58 percent of your youth is unemployed. What the hell do you have to lose?’’. That’s how he thought of those who are not whites.
As a strong opponent of most of what President Donald J. Trump has said and done over the course of his personal life, campaign, and, now, presidency, I would love to imply that he has no political strategy whatsoever and that he makes up everything as he goes. However, I cannot do that because he actually appears to be following, at least what I think of as, the main aspects of a good political strategy: making a brand for himself, working for and appealing to the constituency that voted for him, and surrounding himself with people who will help him advance his ideas.
Donald Trump is a remarkable man that controversy always seems to follow him around no matter what he does. If anyone else did or said anything the things he has done, their political career would have ended, yet Donald Trump is still going strong. The reason why his political career is so strong is because he says what he wants to say. He doesn’t care what anyone else thinks which causes him to get the support of the American people. Many would consider him a racist and a bigot, but at the
