Although both sides give very valid points as to why and why not there should be a dog park in or near the city I lean more towards the side that thinks a dog park would be benefical. Just like anything else there are pros and cons. In paragraph two of "A Dog Park Benefits All" it says "Exercise is important to dogs' mental and physical health." We want to make sure all animals are healthy and we can do that by adding a dog park to the city where there isn't a lot of room for our furry friends to run and play. In "No Dog Park for Muscatine" it talks about the worry of how much the dog park will cost in taxes. By adding this one thing to the list of many things tax payers give their money for it can benefit not only dogs and their owners
Families that use off-leash dog parks are able to thoroughly help and develop their dogs for a better life. Off-leash dog parks allow both pets and owners to learn and grow through exercising and socializing without constant worry of infringing someone else rights. It benefits dogs as they are given adequate space to run and use as an outlet meanwhile, recognizing certain behaviors of more respectable and mature pets through socializing. Properly exercising dogs allow them to relieve tension and unbend; this potentially changes them from being noisy and irritable into more quite and friendlier animals. There have been numerous accounts within my neighborhood where the local residents have filed noise complaints on local dog owners. In the recent study, “On the Fence: Dog Parks in the (Un)Leashing of Community and Social Capital,” authors Taryn Graham and Troy Glover of the
The assertion that “our city is in desperate need of a dog park” strikes me as overly dramatic. I would go so far as to say no city “needs” a dog park, but many owners certainly “want” a dog park. The alarming canine conditions cited in “A Dog Park Benefits All” can be addressed without an unnecessary tax burden assumed by pet and non-pet owners for the construction of a dog park in Muscatine.
I believe that a dog park would be an excellent idea for Muscatine, Iowa. Not only would a park benefit the dogs but it would benefit the owners. A dog park would help in raising and caring for the dog. Dogs should be able to play and be free in a space that they will be safe. Not everyone has the space available at their homes. Some people live in apartments that don't have the yard space needed to let the dog run around. Expecially with bigger dogs. They need a lot of room. I can understand why people would be opposed to the idea though. There's always a chance of a dog harming another animal or human. Dogs can carry diseases, fleas, lice, and other harmful things that can be transfered to humans and animals. But if you let yourself
Having a dog park will make the community unplesant. It will increase traffic near the dog park. This also can be a problem for residents near the dog park.
I understand if you just have a cat and just have it litterbox trained, because they dont have to have exercise like dogs do. So yes I do understand why a cat owner wouldnt want to use their tax money on a dog park.
Second, having a dog park may be a good benefit for the dogs it can also be little
If a park is built that will make the dog-bite reports become lower than ever. With less dog-bite reports the will mean less people sueing people and the city. Which will allow people to be able to pay for the dog park to get built.
In these passages they explain the reasons of why there should be a dog park nearby and why there shouldn't be a dog park nearby. Personally I think that dog parks are a brilliant idea because it creates a more social environment for both the dogs and the owners. It is also beneficial to getting more people to move into the community which could possibly lower taxes.
Funding a dog park in Muscatine, Iowa has many benefits. As dogowners we understand the importance of daily excercise for a dog. We understand that lack of excercise for our dogs have negative outcomes one being destructive behavior at home. Having access to a dog park also opens the door to more socializing between dogs which reduces the dog-bite incidents that have been reported over the last year. The other benefit of having a dog park in Muscatine, Iowa would be the reduced amount of dogs in animal shelters.
During my morning jog at the park, I was a slightly down in the dumps and I knew exactly what would make me feel better, puppy therapy! And then I thought to myself, where's the city dog park when you need one? Personally, having a dog myself influences my decison to be an advocate of building dog parks within the cities. Doing this give more oppurtunity to the dog owners, it gains more property value, and it will help lower the rate of the dogs put into animal shelters. The only downfall to building a dog park is the money the community has to put into it.
Other people may feel very different about dogs. They may feel like going to the park to relax with out any animals around, and to get away from other people. Many people feel like having dog parks will affect the tax payers money. Which it
On the other hand, other people think it would be a burden for taxpayers and lawsuits waiting to happen. I agree with this. Dog parks may have a lot of upsides but the downsides
The discusion between people for the dog park and not for the dog park,Its simple to me. Although the city may need a dog park i see the views of both.Dogs need area,to run and play to burn off all there energy ,and yes!they wiil tear your house up for not enough attention causing them to bark and carry about. The barking is annoying,it does drive me crazy, the rambunciousness does aswell. Now bad behavior in a dog is just the owners lack of teaching the animal proper manners!I as a dog owner love and care about my dog,she is my best freind and i would love other people to be around my dog.A dog park would be the perfect place for families with well behaved dogs to come and play together. For the people who would not be able to stand a yelling
A dog Park benefits all, the cities are most definitely in need of a dog park.
I believe that a dog park should not be built due to the absolute burden it would be on all of those effected by it. From personal experience, I dislike dogs due to their rather annoying noise level. I also feel that it is not fair to use taxpayer money to build the dog park. While I do agree that dogs need exercise to maintain their health, I feel as though it shouldn’t come at the expense of taxpayers and residents.
