The assertion that “our city is in desperate need of a dog park” strikes me as overly dramatic. I would go so far as to say no city “needs” a dog park, but many owners certainly “want” a dog park. The alarming canine conditions cited in “A Dog Park Benefits All” can be addressed without an unnecessary tax burden assumed by pet and non-pet owners for the construction of a dog park in Muscatine.
Before you jump to the hasty conclusion that I’m opposed to a dog park because I do not have a dog, let me assure you I do have a dog and am aware of my responsibilities as an owner. The principal argument for a dog park is “exercise is important to dogs’ mental and physical health.” I would take this argument a step further and state exercise is also
My city or anyother city could do without a dog park if they don't already have one. In "No Dog Park for Muscatine" it say that "It would be a burden for taxpayers and a lawsuit waiting to happen." I agree with this the citizen in my town would have to help fund this project no matter if they support it or not.
Dogs should have their own parks, because when dogs aren't getting the physical and mental excercise that they need, their behavior tend to get worse. ASPCA has a study that shows the rate of dogs biting humans went down drastically in places where they're dog parks. ASPCA also believes that if dogs had a park then their would be less incidents of dogs attacking humans, barking, and destroying things. Many dog owners have given their dogs up , because they started to act like''bad dogs'', this is because they don't have a dog park to excercise all their energy everyday. Dogs need a park just like humans.
I believe that a dog park would be an excellent idea for Muscatine, Iowa. Not only would a park benefit the dogs but it would benefit the owners. A dog park would help in raising and caring for the dog. Dogs should be able to play and be free in a space that they will be safe. Not everyone has the space available at their homes. Some people live in apartments that don't have the yard space needed to let the dog run around. Expecially with bigger dogs. They need a lot of room. I can understand why people would be opposed to the idea though. There's always a chance of a dog harming another animal or human. Dogs can carry diseases, fleas, lice, and other harmful things that can be transfered to humans and animals. But if you let yourself
The second passage "No Dog Park for Muscatine", is clearly against having a dog park in the community. Their opinion is that it is a waste of tax payer money and they should not be forced to pay for it. It is also believed that it would cause a noise ordinance issue since a large dog's bark can reach up to at least one hundred decibels. They believe that a dog owners should be responsible
According to one article '' That 37% of americans who own dogs often look for a dog park when choosing for a place to live''. With dog parks everyone would benefit. Without a place to take dogs they may never socialize much and can become aggresive.Though a good point can be made that dog parks can be loud at times. I still believe that dog parks are needed.
I believe that we as a state should we deside if that's a good idea or not. I think this way becuase there are many perspectives that you have to take in. You have to know how many people are in you town. You also have to know if you have enough space for a dog park.
In these passages they explain the reasons of why there should be a dog park nearby and why there shouldn't be a dog park nearby. Personally I think that dog parks are a brilliant idea because it creates a more social environment for both the dogs and the owners. It is also beneficial to getting more people to move into the community which could possibly lower taxes.
Funding a dog park in Muscatine, Iowa has many benefits. As dogowners we understand the importance of daily excercise for a dog. We understand that lack of excercise for our dogs have negative outcomes one being destructive behavior at home. Having access to a dog park also opens the door to more socializing between dogs which reduces the dog-bite incidents that have been reported over the last year. The other benefit of having a dog park in Muscatine, Iowa would be the reduced amount of dogs in animal shelters.
I firmly support the building of a public dog park in the residential area in the city of Muscatine, Iowa. Apartment buildings have very little yard space, which leaves the only exercise alternative a daily walk in the neighborhood. I have lived in cities that have ordinances with no dogs aloud off-leash in public areas, it makes exercising dogs properly very difficult. My dog used to go crazy when I couldn't get her the proper exercise after being cooped up all day.
I am a proponent of dog parks. It is my belief that these parks are a wonderful addition to any community. There are many benefits to having such parks, not just for the animals, but for us as well.
Do you like pets? Are you a pet person? Well, I'm not a pet person. Does that mean that I agree to not having dog parks? No, because in alot of ways animals are alot like humans. Animals need basic exercise and daily walks and runs to survive just like we do. Dog parks are expensive but they are needed. People say dogs are for the most part loud and noisey. Just think about it if we were to build a park made just for dogs , there would be alot less problems.
The thing about dog parks is that you can look at it from two different point of views. You can see it from the good and bad point of view. If we had dog parks all through out the city, there woukd most likely be an increase in the population of dogs. Which means more barking when you're trying to sleep. But at the same time it would make your property value go up.
I don't see how a dog park would be unpleasant for any community, not only do your dogs get to meet other dogs, but you may get to interact with them a lot more. Interacting with them more and letting them interact with other animals could really affect a dog in a very positive way giving that dog
A dog park has many benefits for the dogs and people alike. In a busy city it can be a place for dogs and owners to find comfort. In rural areas it might be a place of socializing. Now-a-days, there are so many rules a regulations that simply letting your dog walk unleashed, could be illegal. Since most dog owners are law-abiding citizens, their dogs have not much outlet for excersise. Especially if a dog park is not permitted.
However, some of us aren't as excited about the the building of a dog park. This would be paid for by all of us taxpayers, including some who do not even own dogs. A dog park would bring more people; traffic, as well as noise levels, would both increase. Reports of noise near Reston, Virginia and Chandelier, Arizona prove this fact. While it is true the ASPCA says that dogs who do not get adequate amounts of exercise destroy things or often act out, there are other risks to a dog park being
