From videos about dogs doing cute acts to videos about terrorism in the Middle East, Youtube can either bring people together or tear them apart from many countries around the world. For my Digital Artifact Analysis Project I decided to pick a song that I personally love. The song is Closer by The Chainsmokers. With over 172 million views on Youtube, it is one of the most recognized songs of this year. This digital artifact would be classified as an entertainment video. While just appearing as a love song of a couple that grew apart, it has many different secret meanings and ways that people can perceive it. The most powerful line in the song to me is, “So baby pull me closer in the back seat of your Rover, that I know you can’t afford.” I …show more content…
Bite that tattoo on your shoulder. Pull the sheets right off the corner of the mattress that you stole from your roommate back in Boulder. We ain't ever getting older.” In this, the couple seems to be having sex after seeing each other in the hotel bar. They are still having money problems but instead of a broke-down car, they are in a Rover that they know they can’t afford. They sing about “Never getting older,” which is them trying to explain that you only have one life so why not enjoy it and do what feels right and in this case was to hookup. The video portion of this showing a Range Rover driving down the Californian Coast with the couple getting out and enjoying the scenery at every chance they …show more content…
It goes, “You look as good as the day I met you. I forget just why I left you, I was insane. Stay and play that Blink-182 song that we beat to death in Tuscon, okay.” The girl in this is asking herself why she left him but if she really thought about it she could come to the conclusion that he had a drinking problem and he claims to have left her. I think they both want the satisfaction of being able to say that they left one another so whoever left who is up to anyone’s opinion. She believes that she is insane because she left him because she still has the same physical attraction that he feels. She wants to rekindle the love that they had as much as he does. The video is still the couple reliving memories that they captured on their camera. After the second verse it goes into the girl singing about her experience in the hotel bar singing, “And now I’m looking pretty in a hotel
Director Sut Jhally, in his documentary film, “Dreamworlds 3: Desire, sex, and power in music videos”, analyzes the issue of how women are portrayed in the music world. Jhally, in his film argues how music and media has become a proud industry when it comes to advertising women, all for the benefit of popularity and record sales. Jhally believes these videos both inform and misinform our culture about our dominant attitudes regarding femininity masculinity, sexuality and race. He uses an empathetic tone in order to appeal to pathos, the feelings and experiences in women when he presents video clips that are somewhat offensive to watch as proof that women have become a common necessity shown in music videos. Often presented as being sexually aggressive and submissive, being objectified by men. He also intentionally wants to try to stir up emotions as he introduces song lyrics of women being called inappropriate names and images of women being fondled by men throughout the film. Sometimes, aggressively without consent.
Music videos are often seen as the parts of the song’s story that an artist has trouble putting into words. Sometimes these details are unnoticeable at first glance, while some are essential to giving us vital information on what the song is actually about. Michael Jackson’s famous “Thriller” music video is often viewed as a Halloween binge watching classic, but judging by both the visual and audio components, it may be more than just a crowd of dancing zombies. There are quite a few moments throughout the video that can easily be seen as symbolisms of abuse, stalking, and rape/sex. By viewing the Thriller music video with this thought in mind, I hope to help you see the true evil lurking in the dark.
The song starts off with the hook. The girl is talking to some guy, possibly her boyfriend, and tells him, “...I want to love you/But if it's not right what can I do?” (1-2). Within the first few lines we can assume there is a conflict the couple is facing. Possibly him not wanting to be with her? Maybe he’s rejecting her? Or perhaps he's one of those guys that lead a girl on and decide to leave her hanging. Whatever the case may be, we know they’re dealing with an issue.
My artifact is a necklace and it’s so unique and important to me because it has my name on it. And it’s so beautiful, in the middle there is my name with Arabic letters it’s so old so I don’t wear it any more but it still my favorite on of all. I allow keep it in a small box in my bed room near to me so that nobody will play or touch it. I get it when I was 11 years old from a special people in a special event. It from my family they give it to me as a present when I pass my sixth grad, I was so happy that day and until now every time I look at it I remember how hard I worked to pass that school year. It also my first necklace in my life I keep it until now because I love my family. When I feel upset or depressed I tack it out and keep
Women in country songs are identified by their bodies, and clothing, which gives off a certain appearance. The song opens with talking about “bare feet” and “painted on cut off jeans”, which is calling out David Nail and his song “Whatever She’s Got” as well as “Aw Naw” by Chris Young where they both talks about the girls who “got the blue jeans painted on tight” and how everyone wants that on a saturday night. Men want a carefree woman who wears tight clothes and that everyone wants a girl who can move her body in those “painted on jeans”. Then they go on to talk about men sitting on the tailgate or their truck whistling and watching the girls, this calls out Billy Currington and his song “Hey Girl” where he talks about how all the guys are looking at her, and how she is “so hot, gotta give it a shot”, paying attention to the girl 's body and how men will flirt with women, and the control a “hot” woman has over a man making them “all tongue tied” so that they can’t think straight. Calling out multiple artist with talking about “shakin’ my moneymaker”, which makes reference to “Get Me Some of That” by Thomas Rhett
The artifact was developed and implemented for a fourth-grade language arts and reading class with seven students, four girls, and three boys, between the ages of nine and ten. The classroom setting is student centered with differentiated instruction to benefit the varying reading levels and exceptionalities. There are five English-language learners out of the seven students, three students are ESOL level four and two students are ESOL level three. All the students are exceptional students with learning disabilities in reading. The best practices I utilized to develop the artifact was prior knowledge and the Wonders textbook. The best practices I utilized to implement the artifact were reading strategies such as SPADE, written copies of the
Over the course of my analysis I learned a great deal about this artifact using each method individually. However, I believe the biggest impact of this analysis comes from looking at the findings of the two types of criticism combined.
The main goals of the assignment was to introduce myself and articulate a challenge relating to one of the modes of written, oral, visual, electronic, or non-verbal communication.
In some point in our lives we feel accomplished, while other parts we feel challenged by certain things. Humans can go through the lowest points in their lives due to setbacks that could occur in one’s life. My artifact portrays Pi’s hope, unity, authority, and strong perseverance in the face of adversity; that is, the struggles that brings him living in the pacific with a large tiger. It consists of Pi’s hand joining with Richard Parker’s, a watch on Pi’s hand, and an orange whistle.
Music is part of everyday life and serves as the center of many cultures across the world. Music brings out the best parts of a movie, a car ride, or even a special event. The purpose of music varies from artist to artist and different cultures. Every piece of music carries a unique message, but a song, in particular, carries meaning. “Runaway Love” by Ludacris, featuring Mary J. Blige, exploits the struggles of young girls by using rhetorical techniques, such as pathos, ethos, logos, tone, and visual rhetoric throughout the music video to raise national awareness about youth runaways.
With the steel guitar singing in the background, Womack sings about her chances of finding love in a bar. For the video,
Albert Einstein once said, “It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” This quote describes the responsibilities and standards of teaching children. I believe that teachers should be held to high standards for being the foundation of a student’s education and well-being. For my future students, my responsibilities as a future educator include supplementing the growth of a variety of students’ knowledge and creativity, abiding as a role model for students and colleagues, and understanding the issues in the foundations of education.

Additionally, the South Carolina ABC Notebook is accurate, age appropriate, and standards based with objectives developed using guidelines directly from the standards. The South Carolina Standards were used to determine what should be taught and the suitable pace in which to deliver the appropriate content to learners. Additionally, the artifact for APS 6 was developed to promote meaningful and successful learning for all students regardless of their learning abilities and styles. By utilizing a variety of formats, tools, and methods
From my personal interaction with females, most women are not concerned with male dominance. In most of the world from my understanding, the majority of females grew up taught that the men are the head of the household or more dominant. Why oppose the dominincy of a male? In the picture below, the male is exibiting his dominance in a sensual manner that is normalized. The female in the image is not showing any sort of discomfort though it would be different if the male was expressing violence. That is why I feel there is nothing wrong with the way the image is portrayed. Moreover, males have biological factors that occur naturally that can please women, such as aggressiveness or muscles, and etc. As a woman, I feel
This artifact is made up of a PowerPoint that I would use in my classroom on the first day of school to introduce myself and provide the students in my classroom with a clear idea of my expectation for the school year. There is also a letter to the parents of my future students included in this artifact. Both of these documents demonstrate the planning I will used as a teacher to make sure the beginning of my school year is successful and I have to opportunity to build rapport with all parents and students in my classroom. This artifact would fit under standard #7: planning for instruction, since it demonstrates how I plan to teach my future students about myself and the expectations I uphold. This artifact is a representation of my best
