Looking around me, I see an abundant amount of green plants and sand. I felt the micro grainy sand between my toes. Realizing that I'm not in my cozy bed, I start panicking, trying to remember what happened. All I remember is that it was a devastating shipwreck. I woke up here not knowing what happen for I blacked out after the ship had crash into something. I sigh knowing that there's nothing I could do except sit there and wait for help. Nevertheless, I decided to wander around.
There were so many things surrounding me I didn't even know where to begin. I started by taking in a deep breath and smelled the salty scent of the sea. Before I could focus on what's around me, I felt the scorching heat from the sun beaming on my skin. In contrast to the heat, I felt the subtle cool breeze blowing through my hair.
Bringing my attention to what's ahead of me, I hear the sea crawling onto the shore. I walked towards the crystal clear water hoping that by putting my feet in it would help me cool off. Although it was hot, the water was unexpectedly cold. Taking my feet out, I started making my way towards the green scenery. I hear birds chirping and faint sounds of trees rustling from the light breeze as I was walking. The first thing I noticed was the sign that said “Glass Island” and the bushes surrounding it. I bent down to touch the pieces of tree trunk scattered on the ground. The tree trunk left my fingers fascinated, for it was a texture I've never felt before. Squinting my
glass window. We were drawing near the island then. What I felt was a --
My toes wiggling in the damp golden sand. The salty air invading my nostrils. Ocean waves are crashing up against the shore and receding back into the deep blue waters. The ultraviolet rays of the sun are heating my pale skin. William and the boys are building a large sandcastle. They cover the gleaming turrets with slimy brown seaweed and pristine white shells. The rolling hills to my right are a dark shade of green, having been healthily watered by the summer showers. Small feathery clouds move steadily through the gleaming blue limitless
White foam spreads across a carpet of clear blue. The carpet rises, and the foam curves off the back and crashes to the ground. It travels back across a desert of sand and repeats its actions. The morning sun meets the surface, bouncing off and chasing the reflection of the birds flying. Screams of excitement run past me, their bodies wading into the deep blue. Fiberglass skimming across the top, breaking the perfect surface. There was no looking back now. My heart jumps as i follow closely behind. My arms moving fast, diving deep into the warm liquid. Eager to get to the Hawaiian Dives. We start to slow, the sharp, brown rock, marks the bottoms of my feet as i run across. My hands grip onto the rock as i throw my body up to stand. You could see everything from up there.
My eyes were filled with eagerness and my body was filled with exhilaration. Looking left and looking right, I watched teenagers play drums as if they were music prodigies; I saw horses and carriages as if we were playing a role in a fairytale Disney movie. Various colors of light flashed brightly all around me. All of it was happening at once.

Paul makes a response to a letter from the Corinthians that pertained to various critical concerns. Specifically, the Corinthians had a concern about human sexuality (1 Corinthians 1:1-40), (Harris, 2014, p.343). Interestingly, Paul responded by informing the people that he prefers a single life without any kind of sexual connection. He also conveys that he wishes that all men, unmarried women, and single women would choose the single life as he has chosen (1 Corinthians 1:7-8), due to marriage can be agonizing, demanding, and distracting. Paul believed that the painful experience of marriage was attributed to the obligations the husband and wife have for one another and the concerns each of them has for the world, that takes away time from
As I searched around the forest for food, I could hear the birds chirping, the waves clashing, and leaves falling off the trees. When I approached the shore, I spotted three unusual objects in the sea. I waited a while as the objects became visible; they were three massive ships, so immense that no one could believe I saw them. My heart accelerated and I scurried back to my village to warn the chief about my sightings.
It was a long trip i thought and i was hungry, it took us 3 hour to get there i would
The aroma of the vegetation of the whole jungle mixed all together and formed a smell that engulfed the air around me creating heavenly humid atmosphere. I took a deep breath in not wanting to exhale and wishing that it could be a replacement for oxygen, I could feel little drops on the tip of my nose that were tickling me. As I basked in this atmosphere it felt like I was in another
As I reflect on the years that I have worked in Higher Education, my passion and dedication in the field has been driven towards experiencing the growth and development of students. My tenure in the field began at a Historically Black College and University in which also happened to be my Alma Mata. Now 10 years later, I would never imagine that I would still be working in a position to help cultivate and develop the minds of our future leaders. My career thus far has allowed me to work at a Community College, where I have taken a keen interested in the leadership involved in Higher Education. This interest has allowed me to continue my education as a part of the Morgan State University, Community College Leadership Doctoral program.
The air was cold and windy. The beach was black, with small glossy pebbles, and shells. The shells on the beach where beautiful, shiny, and large bigger than my head. The water was gray with rocks that were big enough to climb on. The rocks held puddles of water with ocean life living in them. Small crabs where running over my feet as I sat on the rocks looking at the wave splash against it. A small trail going off of the beach, going to a
Don't let its name fool you, because there's more to Fort Bragg than being a military installation. This place is along the Northern California coastline, so you can expect great weather and proximity to the sea should you stay at one of the hotels and Airbnb vacation rentals in Fort Bragg, California, USA. The best known beach in the area is Glass Beach, which once served as a dumpsite in the area. If you want to traverse the redwoods, take a ride on the Skunk Train, which traverses the forest and allows you to spot different kinds of wildlife living there. When I stepped into the large neatly organized white polished plane, I never though something would go wrong. I woke up and found myself on an extremely hot bright sunny desert island filled with shiny soft bright green palm trees containing rough bright yellow hard felt juicy apples. The simple strong plane I was in earlier shattered into little pieces of broken glass and metal when crashing onto the wet slimy coffee colored sand and burning with red orange colored flames. After my realization to this heart throbbing incident I began to run pressing my eight inch footsteps into the wet squishy slimy light brown sand looking in every direction with my wide open eyes filled with confusion in search of other survivors. After finding four
My parents and I happily trudged out of our chilled condo room, weighed down by various beach supplies. We made our way to the elevator, slowly but surely exiting the maze we call our condo hallways. As we glided down, floor after floor, we finally reached the parking garage. We stepped out of the elevator feeling a mix of humidity and heat immediately cling to our tan bodies. We exited the garage to find a beautiful scene. Birds were flying overhead as there were sun rays beating down against white, hot sand. We crossed the bridge that held shoes and scattered shells. After we did so, we pressed our feet against the white sand that belonged to Destin, Florida. The sight was even more alluring than I had ever imagined.
The sand was a scorching heat, it burned our feet as we eagerly walked down to the ocean shore. Sea oats (tallgrass important to sand dunes and beach plant life) and tiny red and black ants were seen everywhere, covering the sand until we got closer to the sea. Small pieces of bright seashells were scattered all over the place, cutting and poking our feet as we walked around. Cigarette butts and trash from past visitors littered the beautiful sand. The beach was deep, making our feet sink down with every step. Shoes made walking around the sand hard, as they would just get filled with the white sand and make our feet heavier to lift up from the ground. People were everywhere, their brightly colored umbrellas and towels covering the entirety of the beach, adults and kids alike were rushing out into the waves with colorful surfboards and animal floaties. My purple bag chair was sitting just in the right spot for the waves to flow up to my feet and back down again. After awhile, the sand that's being taken in from the soft waves starts sinking the chair legs down. The chair starts leaning forwards, almost completely knocking me into the wet, sticky sand. Brightly colored Seashells come floating up next to me with the crashing waves, where I am low enough to the ground that I can quickly scoop them up before the ocean takes them away again.
