Definition Of Success

What is your definition of success? My definition of success is achieving the highest goal that you set for yourself and overcoming all odds to achieve that goal.

Undoubtedly success can only be defined by the individual. In the video, “What’s Your Definition of Success?”, a man explains that success are the smiles he receives from his wife and child. To me this is the best response because it explains that happiness should be the ultimate goal, and you will be successful no matter the outcome as long as you are happy with how you achieved your goals.

The definition of success is in the eye of the beholder. More than three-fourths of your life is spent working to become successful. People are told during childhood to work as hard as they can so they can grow up and make lots of money. But the word success can be taken in many different ways. Everyone has a different understanding of what success means to them. Generally, success means fulfilling the goals that you set for yourself. For some, success is measured by popularity and riches; for others success is determined by the amount of happiness that they feel.

What is the definition of success? Webster’s dictionary defines success as “satisfactory completion of something.” But my definition of success is having a gratifying sense of achievement by accomplishing goals or targets you are trying to reach or attain. Although there might be multiple interpretations of what success means, I think using time effectively, creating and achieving goals, and processing information into your memory is a vital part of being successful.

What does success mean to you? To me, success means completing your goal and getting where you want to be. In this essay I will explain my goals and I hope to be in the future. To get where I want to be, I have to make sure I stay focused and on task.

How do you define success? Most people define success as having the highest level of education or being wealthy. I define success as feeling good about what I have achieved, being independent and supporting myself, and knowing that I have helped someone while achieving my success instead of knocking them down to get there. One way I define success is feeling good about what I have achieved. Like getting promotions, awards, recognition, and raises for my good deeds.

What is success? Success can be defined in many different forms. Whether it’s buying a big house or that new sports car. Success can be defined as having a high paying job or being famous. Being successful has always been admired. However, many people struggle with being successful. . My definition of success is quite different. I came up with my definition of successes from inspiration of a homeless man. Anyone who sees someone homeless automatically see them as either a disgrace, or just feel sorry for them. Success is defined differently for everyone, for me its happiness. When I achieve happiness, I achieve success. In order for me to be happy I have a couple goals to meet for my life, for example, one is to obtain a bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice in order for me to reach my second goal. That is for me to move to New York to become a detective. When I was younger, I always said I wanted to be the first women president, so from a very young age I was interested in politics and the government. Most spend their entire lives working to become successful. The truth is some people are already successful and do not realize. Success can take many different forms; People have different interpretations of what success means to them. Some believe they will have to spend their entire career working to achieve success. That may be true if his or her goal is materialistic treasures, success is not about having materialistic items. It is a big stigma that success is measured in wealth and stats in record books. Success is more than just stats in a record book, because success is providing a better life for oneself achieving set goals, and finding true happiness.

There are different ways to define what it means to be successful in your first semester at college. For some it means just passing, others it can mean getting As. The definition of success may be questioned in situations where one wonders if someone or something has achieved a desired or goal not. The general definition of success according to Dictionary.com is the is the attainment of wealth, position, and fame. Of course the meaning of success differs from person to person. For instance, one individual defines success as a large amount of money and another as a great deal of happiness. In my opinion success is the effort one puts to achieve a certain goal.

Achieving a set of goals is the definition of success. Goals vary for people, but often they can be separated in three categories: wealth, family, and psychology.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary Online, the word success means “degree or measure of succeeding. Favorable or desired outcome; also: the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence” (“Success”). However, I find this definition to be overly simplistic, because first of, it says “measure of succeeding” but what is success? I believe success is more than the attainment of money or fame; success is when we achieved a point of desired happiness in our life regardless of fame or wealth. James Geoffrey, says, “If you believe success is simply making (or having) a lot of money, you may be setting yourself up for failure” (09 April, 2012). Implying that money is not always the key of success but may in fact set you up for failure more than
