The first emotion that chilled my spine when my English teacher placed me in a group with Aaliyah, a Muslim classmate, to discuss our ideas on our reading assignment.¬ Why would she pick me to be in this group? Why is she wearing that scarf around her head? Are her and her family planning on bombing our school in the near future? As my heart was beating out of my chest, these were questions that filled my head while walking over to the assigned group.
