It was the third day at Florida Supercon, and cosplayer Stella Russotti was having problems with her costume.
Dressed as Doctor Facilier from Princess and the Frog, her necklace, chain, and hat were falling apart. “I could've
very easily had a breakdown that day. I put a lot of work into this costume,” she says. Her worries were settled
once a group aided her in fixing the mishaps to her costume; they called themselves the Cosplay Medics.
Cosplay Medics Inc. is a not-for-profit organization in the state of Florida which devotes itself to fixing cosplayers’
costumes at events and conventions. “In the con circuit, costumes breaking down or getting into accidents
happens much more often than one would think,” says founder Yuberniz Orengo.

The idea came to Orengo in 2011, in her junior year of high school. After hearing various cosplay horror stories, she
thought it would be wise to “put my sewing skills to good use”. Orengo then reached out to Supercon founder
Mike Broder, who embraced the concept, and offered her team of herself and a few friends she had recruited a
table at the convention. That was their first gig, and the Medics, which is currently comprised of 10 active
members, have since helped countless people just like Stella at various events outside of Florida Supercon, such as
Animate Miami, Mini Con, Magic City Comic Con, Hurricon, and Mizucon.
For current President Melissa Palomino and Vice President Michael Colon, who both joined through Orengo, being
part of the Medics has been a way for them to both help and connect with people. “The people are what I love.
We’ve had such a track record of helping not just cosplayers, but con attendees where someone has just ripped
their pants or shoes and we’ve helped them. We don’t limit ourselves to just cosplayers, the only limit that
Appleby runs an annual concert where members of the Guitar Club are given a chance to perform the songs that they have been working on for the year. In 2015, I was the organizer of Guitar Fest, making announcements, preparing set lists, designing posters and getting other members of the club involved. Guitar Fest was very successful last year, with both a great audience turnout and amazing performances from club members.

I went to Tampa General Hospital Fall Repiratory Care Conference that was held October 27, 2015 at USF CAMLS building downtown Tampa. I chose to try and attend two events in case I could not make one. Working in patient care means that sometimes you won't get out on time to make your arrangement.
“Her collars and cuffs were white organdy trimmed with lace and at her neckline she had pinned a purple spray of cloth violets containing a sachet. In case of an accident, anyone seeing her dead on the
At the beginning of the year I helped set up for the chapter banquet and helped do opening ceremonies with the conduct team. This was when I was elected chapter reporter.
This same Crystal Lil, our star-haired mama, sitting snug on the built-in sofa that was Arty’s bed at night, would chuckle at the sewing in her lap and shake her head. “Don’t piffle to the children, Al. Those hens ran like whiteheads.”
Costume has been used in the documentary Painted Babies in order to position the viewer in regard to issues portrayed. Many of the girls are often seen in quite revealing, adult-like costumes, which reveals how these children have lost their childhood in their pursuit of winning. There are many examples of this throughout the documentary, wearing costumes that are obviously designed for adults, only shrunk down to meet a smaller size. The parents are also seen to be wearing such T-Shirts claiming that they were related to their daughters, further suggesting how they were living vicariously through their daughters, seeking the fame and attention that they were receiving. Therefore costume has been used toposition viewers in a certain way in regard to issues discussed.

Atticus is a lawyer who has been chosen to defend Tom Robinson in the small town of Maycomb, Alabama during the Great Depression. His willingness to take on the case shows how Atticus feels it is important to stand up for others, and also shows how he is a good role model for his children. Atticus plays a huge role in showing how a man can be good, even when confronted with evil.
Fashion is everything to society and the media. The fashion industry has transformed into a necessity in the life of people. Everyone wants to look good, feel fabulous and feel as if we belong with everyone else. The envy and desire to wear certain things and look a certain way all come, from wearing the latest fashion handbags, accessories, dresses, shoes, and the list goes on. But, when is considering fashion into an individual’s life going too far to the extreme? Many do not consider the whereabouts of fashion materials and how the environment is affected by the mere existence of certain garments. Some may believe these objects grow on trees. But that is clearly not the case. Even though it would be nice. The fashion industry as a
Howard Roark possesses a true and undeniable right in his reverence of selfishness over the prevailed notion of altruism solely for the fact that his selfish desires, determination, and repudiation of compromise are for the neutral act of creation. The disillusionment of such positively connotated ideals functions well in Howard’s chosen medium of expression. He is valid in his belief because of his unique intentions. When applied elsewhere or internalized by individuals who intend differently than him, Roark’s ideology displays a potential for malice. This perversion is evident in Rand’s exploration of Mr. Keating and Mr. Toohey. What is most unmitigated of this ideal and its dangers is the success of its truth in reality. A Howard Roark in

The public place, in which I chose to observe fashion, was a community fall festival. This festival occurs once a year and brings people from several communities. I arrived at the festival in early afternoon, around 12:30 pm. The festival was just starting to get crowded. At this time there were mostly families with children present. I observed numerous families with babies in strollers. There were at least twenty “vendor” booths
The first conference I attended was the Youth Arts Connections conference. Where I got to meet Ann Denney and co-founder Ryan Veltmeyer. Ann talked about what the program really is. She explained how the Youth Arts Connections looks for
This paper will be discussing the cosplay, or costume play, subculture. In this paper, it will also go over who makes up this particular subculture, what it takes to be a cosplayer, what this subculture does for society, how society sees those who participate in it, how and when it came to be, most famous cosplay costumes, and what this subculture provides for those who take part in it.
