Corner Gospel Explosion is a rock band based out of Bend, Oregon who thrives on creating scintillating ear candy for “underground” people groups like myself. The music itself is an amalgam of underground 90’s Seattle Sub Pop overtones, layered with unquestionable indie undercurrents as the foundation. Headed by drummer and vocalist, Bradley David Parsons, CGE definitely seems to be one of the more adept bands in the underground scene. Their first release is a “self-titled” EP with five songs on it–with all them being sort of different, but cohesive; and so there might be something for every indie-lover. My personal favorite is track 3 “Fishes”. Something about that opening guitar line takes me back to the days when I would pull obscure albums
When you think “Christian Worldview,” what comes to mind? I know I automatically think; God, Jesus, Christians, and Prayer. As I have learned through my Christian Worldview class, I have learned that there is a lot more to it and this paper will provide you with what I have learned. Throughout this assignment, I will explain about God, Humanity, Jesus, restoration, my analysis of the Christian Faith, and my reflection.
Austin Peay State University has over 100 organizations on campus. Within those organizations countless showcases and performance are held weekly for the student population. During this semester two popular performances help were the Generation of Disciples Gospel Choir’s showcase and the Footloose Musical help by the theatre and dance department. Each organization displayed different genres and styles of music. G.O.D gospel choir dedicated their show to a pop style while the Footloose cast exhibited music in the genre of jazz and pop mixed. As an attendee of both performances I have to say I enjoyed the musical better. Footloose was produced in 1984 and modernized in 1998. The music was constructed by two music creators named Tom Snow and
The medieval period consisted of many techniques of artwork that inspired materials we use in present day. Not only are medieval techniques used to inspire present day art but architectural design, clothing and interior decorating also. Medieval artwork inspired concepts and techniques to portray symbolism and stories in other ways than just paint. So, what mediums were most common in medieval art? Some common mediums used during the medieval period were metalwork, gold rendering and jeweled settings. The Lindau Gospels Cover exemplifies these popular techniques and represents the Middle Ages artistry greatly.
They released three albums in the nineties (Check Your Head, Ill Communication, and Hello Nasty) and a few EPs. In the 2000’s, the band released To the 5 Boroughs, The Mix Up, and their
God can be a very controversial subject depending on who you are talking to in this day and time; some people believe, some believe in other Gods and then there are other groups who do not believe in anything beyond this life. God has always had to deal with those who do not believe. God has been persecuted since the beginning of time and has proven over and over that is very much who he says he is. This paper will give you a better understanding of who God is, how humanity is affected by their beliefs, who Jesus is and how he is the way to the heavenly father and creator as well as how restoration will impact our lives as well as the beliefs I hold in God and how everything he created relies on the next in some way to survive.
Although I have been a fan for a good amount of time now, I have never been 100% sure on what genre of music they fit into. Some people say they are a rap-infused high-tech pop duo (Fred Thomas). Others will say they are piano-driven schizoid pop (MTV). One article I read mentioned that when creating their album Vessel they wanted to make something that combines elements of hip-hop, indie rock and punk (Fueled by Ramen). With that in mind, you will never know what to expect if you are a first time listener. You will find yourself rapping quickly at one point and then suddenly singing along slowly with the accompaniment of a ukulele without even realizing the change.
Throughout the 18 short pieces of the album, each one enveloped by a specific genre and mood, the band alternates between adventurous and prevailing approaches.
When 몇 년 후에came out I listened to it and wasn't sure if I liked it. Then "Toy" was released and I fell in love. I continued on to listening to the full album. This album is the very first album I have ever listened to where I actually liked every song. I love the mix of R&B and Hip Hop plus their vocals are inspiring. Although I don't like albums that include instrumentals or remixes of songs on albums, you would know
Every person on Earth has a world view, but not everyone knows what world view they possess. Humanity for centuries has walked the Earth passing judgment on different things ranging from various peoples’ opinion to different people’s beliefs. All those views and beliefs make up an individual’s worldview, but not a lot of individuals take the time to analyze their inner thoughts. It is imperative that every person takes the time to examine their beliefs because their worldview is the foundation of their opinions and how they view the world. The only way to know if your worldview reflects a Christian worldview is to analyze if your belief about restoration, humanity, Jesus, and God are the same as a
One of the fundamental rights in the U.S. constitution is guaranteed to all citizens in the first amendment. We have the right to practice any religion of our choosing, including the practice of no religion at all. The framers of the constitution even put the freedom of religion before our rights to free speech and free press (Haiman). This constitutional right allows America’s blend of naturalists, pantheists, theists, and spiritualists to practice their beliefs without interference from the government. This collection of religions adds to our diverse culture and creates an atmosphere of individuality without persecution. The Christian worldview possesses very unique qualities that separate it from the others. Christians believe that only one God exists (Timothy 2:5) and that he created mankind in his own image (Genesis 1:27). God then sent his son Jesus to die for the original sin of man and to allows us to ask forgiveness for our sins. Christian values are built off the teachings of the holy bible and are absolute with the teachings of God. In order to analyze the Christian worldview and actively practice it without persecution one must investigate the belief in God and his son Jesus, understand human nature, and accept restoration and redemption.
This paper will address God, Humanity, Jesus, Restoration, Analysis and Reflection. The debate, research, questions, and conclusions of the existence of God has been happening for thousands of years. Great minds have pondered Him and His Word, the Bible. There have been different opinions and worldviews about God, His Son Jesus Christ and Heaven. Not everyone agrees on any particular view. Humanity has never been the same since the Fall in the Garden of Eden. Some love, some hate. Others are kind, others kill. Jesus was sent to restore mankind’s relationship with God. To be the perfect sacrificial lamb in order for humankind to be saved and spend eternity in Heaven with God. The only way to achieve peace in the
On the last Thursday of every month, a few of the Young Adults from Harvest City Church volunteer to go to Carrall Gospel Mission and serve the homeless at downtown Eastside. These people are made up of drug addicts, ex-convicts, prostitutes and people with mental health problems. First, We have a short sharing session by the leaders of the mission, and afterwards we serve the homeless dinner. The purpose of this mission is not only to engage the impoverished, but also to give back to the community. Listening to the homeless talk about their lives, I have learned to be more content with what I have and not to take anything for granted. Moreover, I have learned that reaching out to others can have a lasting impact on their lives and also on
With four albums out to date and a new single that was dropped only five weeks ago, Wax Fang is getting their stuff out there and doing a damn good job of it. My favorite album to date from the band is La La Land (2010), this is the album that I think if you are going to try and dive into their music this is the one you start with. The first two tracks "Majestic" and "World War 2" are superb to say the least, then you have a track like "At sea" that is just instrumentals but leads perfectly into "Cannibal
The songs they have on this album go really well together. They all basically have the same point. The main point is that Jesus is always there for you. The songs have different ways of saying that message. One of my favorite songs on this album is Broken Together. It talks about how when you come
Our worldview allows us to see into the world at such an angle that it coincides with our beliefs, therefore affecting how we think and live. Whether one falls under an atheistic, pantheistic, or theistic worldview, they are guided in their life choices depending on the beliefs of their worldview. Throughout this paper, I will summarize the elements of a Christian Worldview such as God, Humanity, Jesus, and Restoration; I will then analyze questions one might have about the Christian Worldview, and finally I will reflect on my worldview.
