Flash evolved from a sketching for pen computers to a framework for building interactivity into the web to a conduit for letting video playback into its existing role as a platform that supports the next invention of interactive web tools, counting HTML5. Flash is used to for flash animations. It’s used on websites you use every day, like YouTube, Hulu, Netflix online and others. Flash displays content to the end user. People don’t realize how important adobe flash is until one day we don’t have it anymore. Without adobe flash the websites you go on would be boring. Adobe flash adds animation to websites or content designs.

FutureWave was sold to macromedia and then became Macromedia flash. Five years after that flash was being used on the internet for regularly a way to demonstrate animations or assist in playing games.
Flash 5 was released in 2000; it added support for a new technology called ActionScript. ActionScript let Flash developers to author and generate more complex interfaces and relations using the Flash platform. Flash was almost found anywhere on desktop computers in the early 2000’s. It was progressively more used more than to just display interactive web pages and games but as way to playback video and music.
Adobe purchased Macromedia in 2005 and then flash became part of adobe’s creative suite. At the time, web video usage was starting to explode across the web, because the help of broadband access, the burgeoning web 2.0 movement and advancement within Adobe flash player that made embedding and playing back video faster and easier than ever. That same year came the invention of YouTube from former PayPal employees. They wanted to startup something that made it easy for people to upload and watch videos online. For sometime flash had been mostly viewed as an animation and authoring tool, becoming an essential part for enabling multimedia across the web. A few years later Adobe added additional supported video formats to flash player, which made it likely for users to easily take footage from their video cameras and put them online.
