At the church that burned, many innocent lives were endangered. As a school was taking a field trip there, a group of kids entered the church, even though they were not supposed to. A cigarette, dropped by either Johnny or Ponyboy, started the fire as it lights up the old wooden church. Seeing what the hoods have done, they approached the fire, only to hear screaming coming from inside. There were many people who were there, but the most important people were the schoolchildren, Dally, and Johnny and Ponyboy. Dally was important because he was the one who hit Ponyboy in the back to put out the fire. Ponyboy and Johnny were important because they were the ones that rescued the children from death. The schoolchildren were important because
At the end of Chapter 1, Ponyboy says “I lie to myself all the time. But I never believe me.” but before that, he stated that he didn’t care that Darry didn’t love him and that Darry thought Ponyboy was a burden and someone that he could yell at. Ponyboy said that he didn’t care about Darry at all but he often lied to himself. What Ponyboy means is that he does care about Darry but he just can’t accept the fact. However, the reason why he does it could be a variety of factors and reasons. It may be because he is too prideful or arrogant to admit it to himself. Perhaps he is just trying to save himself from the pain of unreciprocated feelings that Darry seems to give out. Maybe Ponyboy is trying to get back at Darry by trying to convince himself
This interest in firefighting helped Grace out on one eventful Saturday. This day started out as any other day for the people at the 1st Street Machine Shop. Around 9:30 A.M. one of the machines exploded, due to a wiring issue. The employees did their best to evacuate the building, but when they took a head count, one person was missing. John Smith was working in the back office and could not make it to an exit.

In the novel “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton, one of the characters Johnny winds up in the hospital and the other character Ponyboy, is frightened that he’s gonna die. Ponyboy and Johnny have a relationship with each other. One that lasted for an endless path. Ponyboy knew if Johnny would die, he would probably have to face the Socs himself, when they came by.
The original book is told from the perspective of pony boy so he is very biased to the socs point of view. In one scene Dally, pony boy's older brother, slaps Ponyboy. Ponyboy is very biased to Dally because he thinks dally is being unkind and does not care about him. This is related to Johnny stabbing scene in where you are still very biased to the antagonist in that particular scene. just like you are bias to antagonast in this scens Dally
Ponyboy risked his life and ran into the burning church to save the school children because he thought it was his fault that they burnt it. One quote that the book gives that shows that he thought it was his fault was, “I bet we started it, we must have dropped a lighted cigarette or something.” This explains why Ponyboy risked his life and ran into the burning church to save the school children because when people do something wrong, and someone else pays the price, they usually feel bad and try to fix the situation. In this situation, Ponyboy dropped a lighted cigarette, and the kids ended up in the burned church fire, and Ponyboy had to come in and save them. Another quote that supports my claim is, “All I could think was: We started it.

Johnny and Ponyboy then suddenly think that they started the fire because of their cigarette butt. The boys jump out of the car to figure out what's going on and they ran towards the church. Walter had been sitting in back left corner of the Sun City Catholic Church for what felt like far too long. It was a glorious spring day outside, with temperatures peaking a comfortable twenty-two degrees celsius. Meanwhile, as Walter attempted to unstick his dress shirt from his perspiring back, he was convinced that the temperature inside the church was upwards of thirty degrees. Just as Walter was wondering whether he could get sunburnt from the light pouring in from the church's high, arched windows, the organ player began to play. There was a great chorus of rustling and sighs of relief as the entire church stood up and swiveled towards the door. After a moment, the door opened with a creak and a older man escorting a white circus tent

Towards the middle of the story, a boy named Johnny had killed a Soc that was drowning Ponyboy. He and Ponyboy fled the city to another town, and hid in an abandon church there for a week. When they were going to leave, they realized the church was on fire and there was kids trapped inside. Johnny and Pony were good friends and they decided to go help the children.
