The Triangle Shirtwaist Fire is one of the most well known fire that has every happened in American Industrial history. The company was owned by Max Blanck and Isaac Harris who were rumored to have purposely caught their past companies on fire to collect the large fire insurance payment. This was not the case with this fire but Harris and Blanck did not take responsibilities for safety measures. Deadly fires are bound to happen when the owners of a company neglect the safety of their workers and that is what caused this fire.

In 2003, possibly one of the worst wildfires in California’s history occurred. This fire, referred to as the Cedar Fire, spread across 273,246 acres.

The Triangle Fire in New York City was the deadliest lethal workplaces tragedy in U.S. history until the attack on the World Trade Center. Imagine going to sleep and wakening up to a house full of smoke. You left a pot of rice on and now it is burned to a crisp. You wake up coughing, gagging and have difficulty in breathing. Your eyes and throat is burning and you can barely speak. These are some of the side effects you get from something as simple as a pot of burned rice. Now try imagining yourself in the situation our soldiers are put in on a daily basis, inhaling several toxin and chemicals from a “burn pit”.

Glenn Cunningham was only eight years old when the accident had happened. Before school every morning, he always arrived early to heat up the room by putting a light fuel oil called kerosene in the coal stove. The towns were covered in fire. No man, woman, or child could put them out. They threw water on the fire and nothing happened. Well one day after the fires burned and burned, they all had a feast. There were tons and tons of leftovers of food because the people did not eat a lot. The people didn’t know what the should do with the food, so they donated most of it to homeless shelters and the needy. After that, they still had more food than they knew what to do with!
