I chose this quote by Michael Jordan because I believe in facing fears. Plus, it tells that fear is the only limit to not doing something. Fear is the only thing that stands between you and your goal. For example, imagine you really want to go skydiving, but you are too scared. The fear that is gripping you is the only thing standing between you and what you want to do. Another example is when I went to Six Flags and there was an awesome ride but I was way too scared to go on the ride and so were my brothers. My cousins strongly encouraged me to go so I finally gave in and went, but my brothers wanted to stay behind. It was the best ride I have ever been on! I wondered if I didn’t go, I would surely regret it. Also, I believe this because
Instead of being afraid, be courageous and do not let fear affect difficult decisions. Courage is a choice everyone must make to overcome challenges. Though being courageous is hard, it always pays off. Even though it's easy to be scared, true courage is overcoming that fear. One example of overcoming fear is “The Ravine” by Graham Salisbury, in which a young boy named Vinny shows great courage by overcoming his fear of being bullied and standing up to peer pressure from his friends.
Now I believe that this is an extremely important motto due to the fact that you can use this in every aspect of your life as I stated above. If your mind and body are prepared for any obstacle that is thrown your way there is nothing that can stop you. This hits me strongly because I believe that when you set your mind to a goal in order to better yourself you need to set them out of reach so you continue to grow stronger as an individual.
Nelson Mandela once said “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” This quote explains how we must overcome our fears to become courageous and brave. Joan Bauers realistic fiction short story “The Truth About Sharks” tells us this. One day a girl named Beth a 17 year old girl woke up to what she thought was just going to be an ordinary day. She had to go to the store and grab pants for a party. Sounds like an simple task, but not for Beth. As she was shopping she left all of her belongings in a changing room and was going to look for a shirt. She told a friendly salesperson named Hanne where she was headed. On the way she was
“No matter how hard life pushes you down, no matter how much you hurt, you have to bounce back.” and “ If you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will.” were both very great quotes from Sheryl Swoopes. These quote are something I do think about in basketball practice. I think of it when I feel like I’m about to give up. Swoopes was nicknamed the “Female Michael Jordan” for great
Courage is fear, holding on a minute longer. G. Patton •10. Buy the ticket, take the ride. Hunter Thompson •11. Don’t go around thinking the world owes you a living.
“Courage is knowing what not to fear”. The author of this quote is Andre Gide. I got this quote from the website WWW.BrainnyQuotes. Com. This quote is shown in the book by knowing what not fear so that you can be brave like Mrs.Dubose.
The quote that really stood out to me was said by Oliver Wendell Holmes which was, “The great thing in this world is not so much where you stand, as in what direction you are moving.” I like this quote because I feel like everyone can relate to what it is saying and use it as an influence for their lives. It tells you to keep moving forward and keep moving on to the next thing in life, because there is always something more. If you are feeling down, it will always get better and it won’t always be like this. One way this quote can be represented by is when someone is not doing well in a sport they are truly passionate about.
This quote is found in first part of the book in chapter two. I chose this quote because this relates to me, if I put effort and hard work I can do. Just like if Pi he did not any put effort he would have not become a good swimmer but he did same with me even if it is towards my academics or extracurricular, you still have put the same time and effort no matter what you are doing you can accomplish with right mindset. Also, I know that it is hard work but in the end you will be glad that you put effort and time. When I compete for anything I want to give 100% whatever I am doing.
I chose this quote by Stephen Curry to illustrate the meaning behind it, even though there were plenty more I could have Chosen. I also chose this quote as result of it being by my favorite athlete, Stephen Curry. Above all, it is because it’s a basketball quote, which is my favorite sport. I read the quotes by him, then I thought about it and realized that this one has a lot of meaning behind it.
Whether it’s standing up for a kid who’s been made fun of, talking in front of a large crowd, or even engaging in a new experience, courage is an impeccable character trait which is greatly admired. Courage is what can get you to go places in life, and set you apart from the rest of the crowd. Bruce, a famous martial artist, once said, “Courage is not the absence of fear. It is the ability to act in the presence of fear.” You don’t have to be fearless to pursue your goals, you just have to learn how to push through your fears and weaknesses. This quote can be connected to my life, the arts, and even the world around us.
However, I think my position is stronger because fear can force you not to do things you need or want to do. According to Murakami the Seventh
“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.” - Eleanor Roosevelt
“Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” (Micheal Jordan) Micheal Jordan says “obstacles don't have to stop you.”
This quote is not simply something that can be expressed in words because it conveys an emotional feeling that is significant to me. The quote I chose is meaningful to me because it is about someone who has been beaten down in ways others may not be able to comprehend, but she prevails above all odds and is stronger and wiser for what she went
Sometimes in order to do something right, I have to fail at it a thousand times. This is something that nobody can teach me, but rather something I learn by myself. I also think that the quote lacks confidence and independence required to find yourself. I play Lacrosse and in Lacrosse if I do not stand up for my self and take
