I disagree with Mahatama Ghandi because I believe that in order to find yourself you must be yourself and not the subject of other people. However, I only have an issue with the very end of quote "service of others." I do not think this is exactly what he meant, because Ghandi was a big leader for equal rights in India around the European Colonization Era. I think he meant that through helping others(servicing others) one can best find themselves, but I believe that I must first loose myself in what I love to do in order to find myself. I think that the quote can also be interpreted a few different ways. I think that if someone spends all of there time helping others and not caring for themselves they will become sick and stressed. I believe my own opinion to be just as important as someone else's and I think that part of what he meant by "servicing" could be that you learn from others and in that way I do agree with him; for Instance, when I learn from Mr. Rochon about AP Computer …show more content…
I loose myself in the class and the material and by doing so I have found what I want to do in life. Part of the reason I disagree from the quote is not about about what the quote says, but for what I feel it lacks thereof. The quote lacks the exploration, curiosity and struggle of life. I know that nobody can tell me who I am and who I am to become, because as a citizen in the USA I have the right to choose what is to become of me with broad legal confinements. Obviously, breaking the law will have its punishments. Sometimes in order to do something right, I have to fail at it a thousand times. This is something that nobody can teach me, but rather something I learn by myself. I also think that the quote lacks confidence and independence required to find yourself. I play Lacrosse and in Lacrosse if I do not stand up for my self and take
I like this quote because there are a lot of times in sports where there is a guy that may seem bigger or have more strength but that never stopped him. Personally, if I was in a football or basketball game and we were down on points I would have loved to have a coach or teammate use this quote because it is really motivational and uplifting. It personally motivates me because knowing that even people
According to Harrison (2016), “an integrated physician model is the result of a series of partnerships between hospitals and physicians developed over time.” The plan behind this model is to enhance joint efforts with medical specialists and associations. There are four strategies that need to be implemented for successful integration: “1) understand the forces affecting physicians; design strategic offerings to meet the needs of local physicians, 2) understand the hospital or health system’s specific capabilities and infrastructure in the context of the communities served, 3) ground physician-integration efforts on a well-defined strategic financial plan with sufficient resources and performance targets, and 4) ensure strong physician participation, leadership and governance.” (Cullen, S. J., Lambert III, M. J., & Pizzo, J. J. (2012)
Thomas More was a great saint because of his trust in God and because of the virtues he developed.
This quote is found in first part of the book in chapter two. I chose this quote because this relates to me, if I put effort and hard work I can do. Just like if Pi he did not any put effort he would have not become a good swimmer but he did same with me even if it is towards my academics or extracurricular, you still have put the same time and effort no matter what you are doing you can accomplish with right mindset. Also, I know that it is hard work but in the end you will be glad that you put effort and time. When I compete for anything I want to give 100% whatever I am doing.
Not only is this quote important but it can be relevant to many things we live through and foresee daily. For example, if one is trying to achieve a certain fitness goal, it is not the brightest outlook to just select a very far-fetched goal and not track small points of progress beforehand. In fact, if one was to do such a thing, it would be rather challenging since frustration and injury would occur before one could even see any results since the results are not being analyzed closely enough.
This quote means that even when you try agin it still may fail, but through failing you become better. A time I have failed, but have failed better was when I was trying to read a book, but I would have to start over because I would not read it for a few days, and forget what would happen in the first half of the book. Now I read when I have down time, but sometimes I
“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” My U11 lacrosse coach told the team this quote at our first practice. It really resonated with me, and has been one of the most impactful quotes that has kept me going throughout my lacrosse career. The sport of lacrosse has been a major part of my life for a very long time. I have been playing lacrosse for almost all of my life.
¨You may have to fight a battle more than once to win it¨. This quote is by Margaret Thatcher, which is the first female British prime minister. This quote means a lot of different things to me, it can mean to never give up on a battle just keep fighting. If you want to win a battle you have to be determined to win that battle. I can reflect to this quote do to me playing basketball, because if I want to win a championship game, it doesńt just take me one practice to win, No you have to fight more than once to actually win. My family and friends are always telling to never give up so I don’t even when I really want to.
And that is why I succeed.” I believe this quote implies that failing can be good if you continue working hard. This quote also means that the more you fail, the more you succeed. Finally, I believe that this quote is about perseverance and respect for what you do. To begin with, in life, failing is inevitable.
President Barack Obama says we have an “obligation” to try anything that could save one child, but many people find this statement to be ridiculous. Gun control is thought of as a government policy or regulations to control or limit the sale and use of firearms. In the U.S. constitution, the 2nd Amendment states that a well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. Inside America today, gun control is a major issue, especially in the political arena. People debate on the daily that not all things in society make it a safer place to live. The best intentions of America’s lawmakers often do not achieve the desired outcome; therefore, the nation
I like this quote because it reminds me of softball. The game can get very hard sometimes. So hard that you think about quitting! I have been playing softball for over nine years. I have learned so many things and still learning. I have seen great plays and errors. Softball is such a beautiful sport. It really is a life lesson! Number one reason being you always need to be alert. You have to be down and ready when the pitch is pitched. You need to be aware of your surroundings in life. It is the same concept! Number two reason being you cannot give up because one bad thing happens. If a ball goes through your legs, you need to have a “turtle” memory and forget it. If you don’t, it is going to affect the rest of your game. If you fail a paper
In the Preface to the Last London Edition of Frankenstein, author Mary Shelley says, “Supremely frightful would be the effect of any human endeavour to mock the stupendous mechanism of the creator of the world. “ In her novel, Mary Shelley invites us to experience the endeavour of the scientist, Victor Frankenstein, creating the monstrosity that he immediately alienates. Ultimately, the monstrosity, determined by its inextinguishable misanthropy and revenge causes the destruction of its maker. For hundreds of years humans have acquired knowledge through unrelentingly experimenting and documentation of each experiment. It is evident that modern day scientific breakthroughs have made progress subsequently the release of the cautionary tale
This quote is important because it reflects on the way you act about a situation if you don’t feel like trying you won’t go far in whatever you're doing. People should always say this quote in there mind as there doing something that requires ingenuity and willpower. Everyday you See your favorite athletes out there playing their hearts out and you wonder “how are they so good”? Well they train and before they wake up they send a little spirit in their mind whether it's this quote or it’s another
global movements for rights and freedom. Ghandi was full of kindness and did not believe in
What’s All This Remembering About Feasts In The Bible? When God asks you to remember something, whatever your level of spiritual maturity, it must register on your conscious radar that He would do so only for good reasons. Would God ask you to remember something that was trivial and of no importance? Hardly.
