I chose this quote by Stephen Curry to illustrate the meaning behind it, even though there were plenty more I could have Chosen. I also chose this quote as result of it being by my favorite athlete, Stephen Curry. Above all, it is because it’s a basketball quote, which is my favorite sport. I read the quotes by him, then I thought about it and realized that this one has a lot of meaning behind it. The quote deals with having success after you go through also conquer your biggest fears and problems; making better decisions than past mistakes. First and foremost, Stephen Curry is already one of the most successful athletes, also NBA players in the world. He overcame his obstacles today, although when he entered the NBA they had just begun. He suffered from severe ankle sprains which costed him the majority of the first three of his NBA seasons out of eight. In last years NBA finals, the Warriors blew a well earned 3-1 lead against the Cavaliers, costing the Warriors their back to back championship, giving the Cleveland Cavaliers their first. After game seven, during the press conferences, Stephen Curry said, “I’ll take it on the chin, cause I know I didn’t play my best, and that's something I’ll have to live with.” In the 2016-17 regular season, Curry has been owning up to blowing that lead. Making over three hundred 3 pointers, becoming the first to do it five years straight. Putting himself into the MVP race for the third straight year, even though he won’t win it. Last but not least, coming up big in round one of the NBA Playoffs against the Portland Trailblazers; sweeping Portland in the series 4-0.
