I excel in extracurricular because I always try to be the best teammate I possible can, so that we can all succeed. I inspire my teammates by being so hardworking with my sport to be the best person I can possible be. I excel in Academics because I get really intrigued in class and really love to learn more about different subjects outside of class and be a really informative person. I really excel in the subject of science because we never finish learning about the planet we live in and other planets. Earth is a real complex form and nobody knows for sure how the Universe was really created making it really hard to know about our past. I always wonder if their is any type of life form outside of earth and who actually created the universe?
According to true colors I am a green. I really like science, math, and technology, and I try to learn as much as I can when I have free time. After school, I participate in clubs to enhance my skills. One extracurricular activity I do is Science Olympiad, a club that works to prepare for a Science competition against other regional schools on different types of science related topics. This club is a really good way to strengthen my knowledge in STEM related topics. Another extracurricular activity I engage in is Science Bowl, another club that prepares for a science competition in March. By participating in this club, I can improve my speed in answering science related subjects. I really enjoy being part of these fun and learning Science competitions. After school, I partake in an extracurricular group, Math Honors Society. By engaging in this group, I can help out other students who are
Has your body ever left your mind so far behind a thick, veil of the spider web you’ve woven, to escape the dreams that have become realities, when in fact, it is merely a dream and not actual fact…
Each individual is created to live their life uniquely. Each person has their own beliefs and opinions. They shape how one perceives others and how one affects others whether it be personally, locally, or globally.
When I was three years old, I could be found standing on fountains at the local mall and putting on concerts for passers by. Now, at 18 years old, the same joy I felt singing in the middle of a mall is what I feel crafting stories on stage and pursuing a character’s truth. Throughout the years, theatre has been an immensely important creative outlet for me, and the confidence I have found on stage has translated in my real life, making me a stronger person. As I pursue higher education in this field, I am excited at the prospect of continuing my studies at the University of Michigan, and being able to take advantage of all the opportunities I am so passionate about.
Extracurricular activities helped shape me to be who I am today and also taught me skills that will be necessary in the future. Such as, teamwork, time management skills, problem-solving skills, deliberating ideas, adaptability, and strong relationship skills. I learned teamwork during Sapphires because if we didn’t work as a team it did not look good and was not fun. Time-management was something acquired as you had to be able to do sports while still having enough time for school work. Problem solving skills and adaptability were both learned in junior executive as the prom was moved to a different vendor two days before prom. In dance I deliberated various ideas and it gave me the confidence to do so in the future. Strong relationship skills were built through clubs and sports which will make working with others and collaborating with future bosses
I’ve always been interested in the field of medicine. When I was being born, I almost died, being saved only by the ingenuity of a Nurse Day for whom my middle name is dedicated to. Above all else, I want to have an impact on the quality of life for others, and I think the University of Pennsylvania is one of, if not the, best ways to do that. Its bioengineering department is consistently ranked to be the most rigorous in the field, and I can handle rigor.
Ever since I can remember I have had an intense curiosity about the world and the people in it. This is probably due mostly to my parents who read to me nonstop but it has fuelled most of my learning experiences and given me a love of the world and of people, and the understanding of both of those. This love was further developed when I began four years of learning Attic Greek and Latin through a classical education. Then, after yearning to go overseas since I was eight years old and saving for it most of the time since then, I made it to England for six weeks this summer. Here my appetite for understanding is being indulged not just with words and pictures but with real world experiences which I can touch, see, and hear. Now, as I near the end of my stay, I am looking ahead to the rest of high school and I have decided I want to make the most of my junior and
My eighth grade year I slowly became someone I never wanted to be, and I didn’t even realize it. I became a deceitful liar. Constantly lying that much made me physically ill, every single day I could feel a huge pit in my stomach that devoured more of me. Every single day. I eventually got in trouble and got my phone taken away. Right now you are probably saying why is this stupid girl telling use these things about herself, doesn’t she want this? Well, it is relevant I promise. When I got my phone back the first thing I did was deleted all my social media, decided to focus on school, and joined Volunteer Club at my high school. In school, I pushed myself to get all my work done, and have I have gotten all A’s my entire career. Volunteer Club
Everyone has to make choices in their life. Some are everyday choices, like what to eat or drink. Others are more critical, like choosing a job. Important decisions take time to comprehend. Like with me, the decision to go to college was the most critical choice in my life and for my future, and I will never regret it. Going to college is important because it helps me find a job, it expands my knowledge, and it is a wonderful experience.
I was always different from the other kids in my class. I was reserved and quiet. Most would tell me that I always look like I was in deep thought. Well that's because I was. I always thought that I thought deeper and viewed the world differently than other people my age. I had a great interest in people, in fact they fascinated me. I greatly enjoyed meeting new people and listening to their life or things they like. So I guess one could say my interest in Anthropology dates back to grade school. History was always my best subject, I would always sit at the front of the class "bright eyed and bushy tailed". But I especially loved when they talked about different civilizations of people and the thing they did. When it was time to decide where I wanted to go to college and
Since the time when I was little, my parents always encourage me to do the best, work hard, become educated and have a positive life style at a very young age. My earliest memories are that of reading interesting books because I love to read and do my science whiz experiments. However, I also had great interests in playing with Lego pieces and conducting fun chemistry games in my own tiny lab. It was a fun time for me; at least that’s how I recall it now. The only things I had to worry about were: what will I have for lunch today, which chemistry game or Lego pieces do I want to play with and my team winning the sports games I use to compete in.
If someone asked me where I am going to be in ten years, this would be my answer. I will have a great, high-paying job, and beautiful wife and family, and a nice sports car parked in front of my lovely house. When I look into the future, I see myself being successful and happy. Even though I always pictured myself this way, I never worried too much about how I would get there. I feel the Suffolk University can lay the groundwork for making these dreams into reality.
In the early years of life, most children do not spend their free time looking in the mirror and wracking their brain for an answer to the question, “What are you?” I suppose that particular experience is quite unique to my childhood. For as long as I can remember my race has been something that comes into question or speculation in some way or another. To this day, I struggle with my identity due to being a mixed race individual.
Discovering and choosing a college that best suits my needs was a rigorous yet thrilling task. The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising clearly came forth as the best choice for me to further my education in design. Being unable to visit the college campus, as I live in New York, I've done lots and lots of research about FIDM, and I realize the institute offers what I hope to gain from my college experience.
