The Vette had a small block Chevy V8 up front driving the rear wheels, it went up to an outstanding 205 hp. The 1960’s Corvettes were awesome, mostly because it was all american muscle. The title of the exhibition is called “Intersection: World Arts, Local Lives.” This exhibition opened on September 30, 2006. Some of the pieces displayed on this exhibition were not new, since Professor Brown had already gone over them. The exhibition contained a divination board, vessels, male and female figures, masks, headdresses, staffs, textiles, among others things. The art pieces were from different parts of the world. The exhibition is divided into four different sections, each with its own theme. The different themes were Art and Action, Art and Knowledge, Art and Power, and Art and Transformation. Antiques Roadshow is a television (TV) show where appraisers travel to different areas across the US and appraise and discuss objects that different people bring. The discussion of the object usually digresses into a broader history surrounding the object. Also, the owners of the object explain the importance of the object themselves. For example, brought an Olympic Men’s Basketball gold medal from the 1936 Berlin Olympics, but the significance of the metal to him was that it was his fathers. Truthfully, anyone could go onto Antiques Roadshow because everyone has an object sitting around his or her house with sentimental value that can be brought into the broader context the time period or industry that it is from. That is why; I will
At the Kansas Museum of History, they had a giant train on display. My favorite thing in the museum was where it talked about the Air Capital which is in Wichita KS. They had a lot of old planes that looked pretty neat.

Cars have been a primary means of transportation for many people for a long time. Similarly, Oshawa has been a part of the GM family for a long time, from factories to dealerships. For my materiality assignment I will be looking at the Canadian Automotive Museum that is located in downtown Oshawa. Before the Museum took over in the 1960’s, the building was home to a dealership and created in 1921 (‘Canadian Automotive Museum - History’, n.d.). Interestingly for me, in 1924 Ontario Motor Sales – another GM car dealership, operated within the same building. After a few years OMS left their Simcoe office and relocated down Bond Street, still in Oshawa. This company is actually where I got my current car from, a 2014 Chevy Cruze
Founded in 1989, the National Automotive Museum preserves and maintains more than two-hundred cars for the public to admire. Projects that go into working with the museum include archiving both old and new knowledge of cars, filing research away on cars sold after Harrah’s death for new owners, digitizing new information using the computer system called PastPerfect, and transcribing the journal of a man to the computer for record keeping. All of these tasks meant learning new skills in maintaining a museum’s behind the scene collection as well as researching the collection’s history. These projects help the museum function as well as provide a source of income so that the museum can stay open.

I could feel the cold brisk air brushing up against my skin as I ventured through the darkness in this vacant parking lot on a dreary Sunday night in November. I could see a car in the distance and began to approach it. The car appeared to be an old rusted out vehicle with extremely tinted windows that were dark like death. As I looked inside the vehicle I noticed that the car was as clean as a crystal. Not a speck of dust could be found on the interior and the floor mats were completely spotless. It was as if the vehicle had never been driven before. I then put my hand on the door and proceeded to step inside of the vehicle. As I did so I felt a sensation through my whole body that made me tingle. It was an unwelcoming sensation as if I was entering a whole new world. As I sat down there's was a smell, a sheer clean smell similar to that of a fresh load of laundry. Goosebumps came about all over my body as adrenaline rushed through my veins. I put my hands on the steering wheel and my mind took me into another dimension. Taking a glance in the rearview mirror I could see a mysterious person approaching the vehicle. As I examined the person I came to the conclusion that this must be the owner of the vehicle. I noticed they were dressed in all black and carrying what seemed to be a grocery bag of some sort. In panic, I got out of the car and looked at what appeared to be a male figure. The man was very masculine and tall. His mere presence was enough to strike fear into
