Eliezer Wiesel and Christopher Boone were both just 15 when they were taken on their life altering expeditions, but it was their determination to return to their families and their strength to survive that lead them successfully to their goals. First of all, Christopher Boone was the disabled protagonist who was faced with many challenges but, it was Chris’s determination to solve the murder and reach his mother and that made him successful in obtaining his many ambitions. Even after being arrested and informed by his father very clearly to remain out of other people’s business, Christopher was intent and would not stop until he solved the mystery. Also, while solving the murder of Wellington, Christopher discovered that his long lost mother, whom he had presumed deceased, was still living. He knew that he had to find her, despite his father’s word, and would not let anyone inform him otherwise. Even after being informed that his mother left him and his father for another man, Christopher insisted that because his father lied to him, and killed Wellington, his Mother’s house would be the best place to go. Lastly, even after his foot surgery, Elie was determined to keep moving on the “March to Gleiwitz” camp.
