Christopher Boone's’ journey begins when he discovers his neighbor's dog, Wellington, was found dead; with a garden fork stuck through its body. Little does he know what this event is the start of. In The Curious Incident of The Dog In The Night-Time focuses on the narrator Christopher, who has a complex mind with a matching personality. He has very strong morals he has set for himself, such as no identifying the colors yellow nor brown, and seeing a certain amount of colored cars can dictate how he can act one day (ex: seeing 4 yellow cars makes it a Black Day, meaning he won’t speak to anyone, will barely eat, and ‘won’t take any risks’). He had wanted to be an astronaut, however, that dream is challenged upon uncovering some rather unpleasant
Mr. Boone is not completely evil because he has good intentions behind many of his misdeeds. He only wants what is best for Christopher. Mr. Boone accepts Christopher’s special needs and wants him to succeed in life. He helps Christopher a lot more than anyone else, even Judy Boone; Christopher’s mother doesn’t help Christopher as much. Although Ed Boone’s immoral actions were evil, the good intentions, helpfulness, and patience that he displays toward his son, Christopher proves that Mr. Boone is the evil figure with an ultimately good heart.
Christopher’s father and mother, Ed and Judy Boone, are two main characters in “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time”. Although they despise each other, they share certain aspects and traits. One trait that they both have in common is that they both care and want to protect Christopher. Ed takes care of Christopher as much as he can. He prepares him food the way Christopher likes it.

His name is Christopher John Francis Boone, he knows all the countries of the world, their capitals, every prime number up to 7,057, he cannot stand to be touched, detests the color yellow, and has no understanding of other people. He is an autistic young adult, he screams when anyone he doesn’t know touches him, he isn’t like me or you. The story would be interesting if it was told from the point of view of characters other than Christopher, like perhaps his father, neighbor, or teacher. Christopher’s dad, Ed Boone, is normally a good guy. The book would have been very different if the story was told from his point of view for several reasons.
Christopher Boone articulates The Curious Incident, however, this novel isn’t told by an average fifteen-year-old boy; Christopher has Asperger’s syndrome—this isn’t stated in the novel, but we can acquire this knowledge simply by reading Christopher’s words. People with Asperger’s tend to have difficulty with social interactions, and Christopher clearly displays this inability when trying to figure out the emotions on the paper that Siobhan draws for him (1), also when he states, “ I find people confusing” (17). Another aspect of Asperger’s syndrome is a fascination with letters and numbers, this aspect is clear in the labeling of the chapters with prime numbers, his tactic to calm him self down by doing math in his head and finally by his adamant need to take A-level math and eventually physics. Nevertheless, this uniqueness about Christopher creates an unexpected narrative twist on this murder mystery novel.

He jumped at the chance to venture deep into the woods and explore the vast wilderness of this glorious new land. Boone was remembered as having never liked school. Rather, he preferred to be out hunting or trapping. At the age of twelve, he received his first rifle which he avidly used to hunt all types of wild game. Young Daniel was very different in comparison to other boys his age when it came to risk taking. In
