The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, by Mark Hadden, is a story of independence and acceptance into society. After Christopher Boone, a 15-year old British boy with Asperger’s Syndrome, discovers that a neighbor’s dog has been murdered, he decides to investigate, bringing him into all sorts of secrets and intrigue about his family and life. Christopher is eventually encouraged to document his passages and triumphs in a book, the one containing the story itself. His struggles and reactions to his passages show his desire for independence and freedom in his own life.
