What is campus carry?
A state law that allows the carrying of concealed weapons on college campuses.

Arkansas (faculty), Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Mississippi, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee (faculty), Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin.
In what states are campus carry laws pending?
Arkansas (faculty), Georgia, Florida, Kansas.

Why do we need to post signs prohibiting weapons on our chapter facilities?
Kappa has a long-standing policy of prohibiting the use and/or possession weapons on chapter property. In light of recent changes to state laws involving campus carry, Kappa would like to reinforce its position to members and guests to chapter property with the goal of member safety at the forefront. The requirement for signage includes a flexibility in selecting the signage that would work for your particular chapter facility as well as options that are discrete. Such signs should not have an impact on Recruitment other than conveying the Fraternity’s expectations to potential new members from the very start.

My chapter facility is university owned/a dorm floor/suite.
If your chapter is unhoused but has a designated meeting space or if the facility university owned, please work with the university to ensure appropriate signage is posted on the exterior of that building. We understand, however, that the university may not approve such signage being posted.

What should be done if a weapon is brought into the chapter facility?
