​From a time when achievement was rare, and succeeding among minority was minuscule, a sense of order was needed. During this time Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated came into the world, bringing core values and achievement. Within the five objectives Kappa Alpha Psi showcases the distinction of itself from other fraternities. The founding fathers had the desire to shape a unique group personality different from the other greek letter college organizations, around the idea of achievement. When achievement was mainly concerned with improvement of personal status, security, and meeting the demands of everyday living the founders of the fraternity envisioned something bigger. Thus bringing about the Five Objectives that men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated live by and exemplify on a day to day basis showcasing Achievement in every field of human endeavor.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you of my interest in becoming a member of the Nu Zeta chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. My desire to have the opportunity to become a brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity incorporated is grounded on encounters, characteristics and the prestige purpose and history of the fraternity.

Viral videos of fraternity and sorority members partying and getting drunk off of beer might be the first images of Greek Life that pop into your mind, but that’s only a stereotype. As an important part of the Kappa Kappa Gamma community, we are reaching out to provide you with information about the temporary suspension of chapter operations of Beta Mu Chapter at the University of Colorado Boulder. We recently learned of several matters of concern surrounding Membership Recruitment. Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity has acted swiftly to begin an investigation into these allegations. While this investigation is taking place, chapters operations are suspended and there will be no chapters events, activities or social events. We are deeply sorry that your Kappa experience is starting under these circumstances.

Fraternities have a very misconstrued reputation in our society today. They are known to be rowdy, inappropriate, and extremely disrespectful. A well-known business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, takes a step out of these characteristics. They describes themselves as, “a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice” (Delta Sigma Pi’s Purpose, Mission, and Core Values).

I believe that I have all the values that are required to be a member of Beta Theta Pi. I'm a trustworthy person and I had and will always be there for my brothers when in need and all my brothers truly have my back. I believe that it's my duty not just to be there for my brothers but also help resolving any issues in the chapter since everyone's acting represent the whole chapter. For me, academics is as important as any other activity and it helps us to be responsible and understand any ongoing campus issues and to resolve them. As of now, I haven't done any thing that made the chapter look bad and I promise be the same in the future too.

Members of Greek-letter organizations have never before been held to such high stands or sensitivity toward all student populations, especially cultural sensitivity. Social media has created a whole new way for collegians to put themselves at risk. Recent stories about inappropriate behaviors have fanned the flames of debate around the relevance of fraternities and sororities in the 21st century. Stories that once would have gone no further than campus or the local newspaper now have the potential to become international news in an instant.
