Calvin Johnson has been the best wide receivers in the NFL in his whole career being 6’5” 240 he is the toughest receiver to cover and his stats prove it. As seen in the picture from CBS sports. In 2012 he had 1,964 yards which is the most ever in a season in the entire history of the NFL and with his stats not dropping that much a lot of people thought he still has a lot of time left to make an impact in his career. Except he announced a couple weeks ago saying that he was retiring at only age 30. Many people have there opinions on why he is retiring although he has not completely said why he is retiring. Granted, retiring at younger ages is becoming more popular in the NFL but there has never been a player of Calvin’s caliber to retire early. Many experts say that he is retiring just because of how much he got hit during his career, being the only good wide receiver in detroit for half of his career. Many of his teammates have spoken on …show more content…
In my opinion I feel that Calvin could still play maybe one more year. Just because he doesn't have an team wins like a super bowl although that probably won't happen with the Lions i feel that he should give him one last effort. When I interviewed my father and he said “ I respect Calvins decision because he's looking ahead in life because life isn't just about football” this is a good point because Johnson has been hurt every season he's played with just minor injuries keeping him out 2 or 3 games a season. To sum up Calvin Johnson is one of the greatest football players to ever play in the NFL along with Jerry Rice. Many people have their own feelings on Calvin's retirement from his teammates to random people in the world like my dad and I. In conclusion hopefully Johnson will come back for a couple more years or even one but if he doesn't he will still be one of the greatest of all time to play
There are a few things the youngster is going to have to work on if he wants to be in the NFL, even if it’s just as a reliable backup. Boykin already faces some uncontrollable issues due to his height and his reputation for fumbling doesn’t help. He has a habit of knowing exactly what he is going to do with the ball before he even walks out of the huddle and forcing the pass even when it’s not open.
Some fans are ready to cut or trade Jameis because he is not leading the Buccaneers to the promise land this year. Im not sure but I am certain that Jameis can not run the ball on running downs. Block on passing plays and play defense. Lets not just put all the blame on Jameis when it is a team game. He is the only quaterback that gets the critism when the team plays bad and get hit with a but when the team is playing well.
As you learn the game of football players have to know what position to go after. Becoming a running back was kind of rough, because he has to know when the ball is snapped. Most guys would look for the ball the first call. The quarterback could call the ball on two or just say hut. All running backs have went threw the stage of being outside after the play is called.
He is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. He is a 7th round draft pick. He has
Jeffery was averaging 12.5 points per week in PPR leagues. In leagues with 10+ teams, he could see your lineup. Tight end Zach Miller said. "It sucks not having your top weapon on offense. We have to figure out ways to do better collectively. But I don't think you really replace Alshon Jeffery that easily." Jeffery will be missed be all his teammates as well as the team. Jeffery’s 4 payless games although may not seem that bad on the surface but he is losing about 3.6 million dollars from those 4 games. The average NFL player makes 2.1 million dollars per year and the average income for an American is 52,000 dollars. Jeffrey may not care that much making 14.6 million per year. He should be able to live off of the 11 million dollars he will still be paid. So far this season Jeffery has a team-high 630 yards on 40 catches in nine games this season but has the only season the end zone once. With Jeffery out Eddie Royal will likely be bumped up to WR1. We will see more of a workload pushed onto Royal as well as tight end Zach Miller and likely running back Ka'Deem Carey with Jordan Howard suffering from an Achilles
JJ Watt never slacks in practice according to the coaches and players. He has a mission to be the best football player ever. No matter what JJ never takes a day off even if he is hurt he will do something to improve. JJ Watt lives by dream big work hard which he shows when he plays football.JJ Watt has been playing defensive end for the Houston Texans but he has worked so hard that he has been able to play offencive tight end for his team and has even scored many touchdowns that has helped his team in many tight situations.I believe this is a man who has worked so hard for his team and it has shown
Since this is only his rookie season there is lots of room for improvement. I believe that he can make it to the hall of fame. But it is crucial that he stays at the Cowboys. First of all our fanbase is huge and supportive. Second of all we have the best offensive line in football. If you do not have good blockers your running back would go no where. Hopefully he can be better than Emmitt Smith.
The Florida native has complete faith in Josh McCown. Bowe has been quoted saying that McCown has “all the potential of being a top five quarterback in the NFL.” “He’s making great throws, smart throws and he’s mobile in the pocket, more than people think.”
Looking back at his stats you can see that post-2012 have been nothing to brag about. (Again disregarding his 2015 season) With only 26 total rushing TD's in six seasons and only 2 receiving, it is time for the next man to step up. I have defended Doug Martin until I was blue in the face and my fingertips callused from the countless times I've had to argue his worth. I have to give my fingers a rest.
After Newton’s college career, he certainly raised questions about his ability to make it in the national football league. (NFL) On talent alone, he was the number 1 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. But many football experts wondered openly if Newton would be worth the investment.
Yet he is not there yet he is still trying his very best to make it to the top. Since he was one of the top prospects of his era in the NFL but then started to go downhill and then retired he is trying to do the same with another sport baseball. A effect of this though is that Tim Tebow is starting to receive a ton of hate from outside social media and some people are going as far to say it's because of his recent fame that, that’s the only reason why teams and coaches are giving him a chance. Even though Tim Tebow actually has some true talent and is trying his very best to work out and excel in the MLB. A repercussion to this is that celebrities might start thinking that if Tim Tebow can just “give it a shot” in the MLB then they might as well too.
Nothing is more important in the game of football than the quarterback. Since football has been a sport there has been so many great ones to walk the field in the last century, but no one can come close to comparing to Tom Brady. He is a mastermind on the field and can do wonders with the football. He still may have ten years left in him, and he is already considered by many the best quarterback of all time. What he has been able to do with what he has had makes him elite. Tom will go down as the best player in his rightful position because of his accomplishments, the team he has had around him,and his consistency throughout the years.
Peyton Williams Manning is a former football quarterback who played 18 seasons in the Football League. Number 5 is Calvin Johnson. Calvin Johnson Jr. is a former American football wide receiver who played his entire career for the Detroit Lions of the National Football
Nope, he’s just another victim of the 2016 fantasy football season. The reason your man is going through what looks like a mid-life crisis is because he either finished dead last in his league or lost in the title game.
That's consistency and impeccable stats for anyone. In 1975, his best season, Chuck led the NFL in receiving with 73 catches and led the NFC in touchdowns with 22- tying Gale Sayers' record from a decade before. This iconic hero just missed the NFC's version of the Triple Crown. He was the NFC's leading receiver and the NFC's leading touchdown scorer. Chuck was also the NFC's leading scorer with 132 points and the NFL's 2nd leading scorer. He was the NFC's 2nd leading rusher with 1,070 yards and missed out on the NFC's rushing title by 7 yards. Unfortunately, the Vikings used Chuck too much with all those carries and pass receptions and he was physically burned out after the 1978 season when he was only 28 years old. It happened to all-time great runners Larry Brown and Earl Campbell. Chuck Foreman was a legend and as time has gone by, this all-time great runner has become a distant memory and a lost treasure. He has waited 30 years and he's still not in Canton. His versatility and God-given talents set him apart from most other runners. The Seniors Committee needs to take a close-up look at this and get it
