Have you ever heard the saying, “It’s only funny until someone gets hurt?” I learned that the hard way. I have never broke a bone. My sister, Robin, changed that Friday, July 15, 2016. She decides that she wants to tickle the back of my neck while we are washing the dishes. As she tickles the my neck, I lean forward rapidly with my mouth open and slam into the the sink with a painful crack. I raise up and find out that this causes me to chip my left front tooth and break my right front tooth in half exposing the nerve. Breaking my teeth portrays my worst accident causing immense pain, terrible suffering, and unexpected dentist appointments. The breaking displays excruciating pain without anything to take for it. First, eating and drinking
One thing I don't want to do again is to get on the monkey bars. I was only in the 2nd grade when I first broke a bone in my body. I was outside at school, it was recess time, around 2 pm or 2:30 pm. It was my friends and me racing to see who could get across the monkey bars the fastest. Then I said, "it's my turn, let me go!" I started by skipping on to the third bar and skipping every other one to get past. Midway through something got in my eye. I let one of my arms go to wipe my eye out, then that's where I wasn't thinking, I let both of my arms go.
I fell. This felt like I didn’t have a wrist. But I got back up really carefully and went up to the lounge to my dad and sister. Ah, Ah, Dad I think I broke my wrist. No you didn’t. It was swelling up, It hurt so bad I couldn’t even believe this was happening.
Have you ever felt the pain and misery of breaking a bone or maybe two. Well, I have I broke my wrists snowboarding in 6th grade and I had many challenges along with it. After I felt the terrible, unbearable, pain of breaking two bones. After breaking my wrists the rest of the day was terrible. I couldn't eat supper that night and I also couldn't sleep.
I ended up blocking nobody, but I tripped on myself and I landed on my arm. While I was falling in the air, my reaction was to shock myself from the fall by using my hand and arm. The result ended up me breaking my forearm. It was the first time I had broken a bone in my body and the feeling wasn’t as painful or aching or agonizing as I thought it would be. On impact, I felt my forearm bend like rubber. My initial reaction was disbelief.
My older brother Pooh Man was yelling ,’’grand lancey, grandma lancey,’’ while chasing me non-stop. And it really freaked me out and next thing u know i were running snots was just gushing out my nose, my arm was swinging everywhere and one of my shoes came off. And then i saw a fence, i thought there's my chance to get away from him. So, i ran from him and jumped; my shoes lace was untied, it got caught in the fence then my arm snapped as I hit the ground.
Have you ever broken a bone? I’m Elizabeth Hunt and I’m going to tell you a little about myself. To begin my family consists of my mom Shelley, my dad Jim, my brother Nathaniel, and my dog Emmy. When I was one year old I fractured my shin. I had a small pink cast and my parents had a hard time keeping me off my feet. I’m now 12 years old and still live in Wichita, Kansas. I have lived in the same house my entire life. Now it is time to learn a little more about me.
Further, when he was nearly thirteen, my brother Jem got his arm badly broken at the elbow. Last year, running on ice, slipped felt and snapped my tibia. Slipping on ice, is the most uncool thing that can happen. My leg broke so easily, because I just had a growth spurt. More, it happen after I jumped over a puddle, when I landed my right leg bend and snapped.
This one was very recent. So, this was my eighth grade year or either my freshman year of highschool, I can’t really remember the exact year this incident happened. So it happened in Frenchmen’s Bend and i was the bed of my brother’s pickup truck along with my good friend Spencer Davis. Well, to make a long story a little bit shorter, my brother was being an idiot while driving so Spencer was screaming, yelling, and cursing at my brother while he had the window rolled down. I should probably add that my brother didn’t really care for Spencer that much to begin with, so with him yelling at him the way he was is just adding gasoline to a burning fire. Well, my brother decided to slam on his brakes so Spencer would hit his face on the back windshield…. Well here’s the thing, Spencer was holding on to the rail of the trucka and I wasn’t. So I literally flew in mid air and slammed my face into the back windshield. So that caused my tooth to go through my top lip and made the tooth very crooked. I was fine, but the aftermath of that was I had to get braces to fix my teeth. Which was honestly a blessing, because my teeth are the straightest they have ever been
Being a typical 9 year old, I bawled my eyes out. When I moved my arm, it hurt even more. My mom came over to see what all the commotion was all about and I told her what had gone on. I also told her that whenever I moved my arm, it hurt and it felt very weird. She told me we would have to head to the hospital in Columbus to go get an X-Ray to see if it was broken. Thankfully, this was after my older brother’s band’s performance. He came over to us, and my mom told what was about to happen and what we were about to do. He wasn’t happy, to say the least. After about 5 minutes of arguing, my brother lost and my mom took the rest of us to Columbus. As we got into the car, she told me to keep my arm as still as I could, to which I did. We didn’t go to the hospital right away, however, we went to McDonald’s instead to try and make me feel better with some ice cream. It worked, and made me feel glad, even until I got into the hospital. I had never had a broken bone before up until that point in my life, so I didn’t know what to expect. We sat in the waiting room for about 5-10 minutes, until the nurse came into the room to tell us that the doctor was waiting. We got into
Now off to the McBride household of fun activities. We’ve had tons and tons of fun at my house. First up is the pool parties we used to have at my house. It was mostly just Jake’s family and Madison’s and Michelle’s family that would come over and swim with us. We’d pull up our old trampoline and jump from there into the pool. During one of our pool parties, the twins and I in our swimsuits, decided we wanted to play with this wooden stake that was in the ground. Michelle then, hit me right in the forehead and split my head right open. You could compare the pain as to getting a knife stabbed into your leg, but then again, I was like six years old when this happened. My mom came outside finding me balling my eyes out like water coming out of
Finally breaking a bone is not very fun. You really can’t do anything you want to do.
One day I looked in the mirror and saw I had a tooth on the side of my gum. The next day I woke up from a dream that I was spitting out all my teeth. Throughout my, life my goal has changed because of a nightmare, a day at work, and my brother needing a tooth pulled.
When I was 21 years old, I was involved in a terrible accident. I have been seriously injured after I was thrown off the back of a motorcycle. My physical recovery process was long and painful. Moreover, there was a reason that made it hard to me to handle this situation. All my front teeth were lost in this accident. Looking at the mirror, I experienced immense distress, and felt like my life was over. Fortunately,
I was walking back from lunch with my friend Matt, we were telling each other jokes about dead babies. I looked over and saw my little brother, I turned to Matt and said “watch this” then I ran up to my brother and tried to do a jumping high five. He didn’t think I was trying to high five him he thought I was trying to hit him. Out of instinct he pushed me away and I fell backwards, I landed and pivoted on the ball of my left foot. I thought I had gotten away safe and clear, I went to take a step and BAM! I had been tripped by my own untied shoelace, betrayed by my own apparel. I fell backwards and expected to hit lockers, unfortunately it wasn’t lockers or even a door. I had crashed into the glass display case, oh the utter humility. I hit the ground and leaned up on one arm, I was fine, not a scratch. Mrs. Wright come running up in total mom mode “ Oh my God, are you alright, AHH, don’t move!”.
That day, Ted and I got to explore the whole island and since it is about a ten acre island, it took us about an hour to explore the whole thing. On this one trail, it leads to a hill and on that hill we saw a broken femur. We could tell it was fresh since it still had cartilage, but for some reason we still went exploring. Looking back on it, we really didn’t make that great of a decision, since we were far away from
